Doom: The Dark Ages represents the third installment since the reboot of the iconic series back in 2016. I know, I know. Game #3 can be a tricky one to pull off. However, both Doom and Doom Eternal were pretty stonkin' shooters, bre??athing?? new life into id Software's classics while maintaining the original spirit.

Now, we know the new game is coming in 2025, at least according to the release info on Steam, but we have yet to have a full date. However, according to a recent leak, we could be seeing Doom: The Dark Ages melting our collective faces off come May 15.

The information has been shared by user Alexzan over on Resetera (also reported by Eurogamer), which comes from the French website Gamekult. The words used in the original article say the game "will decimate the infernal legions on May 15, 2025" (as translated Google).

Déchirez et déchirez!

It should be pointed out that the leaked release date, as noted by Gamekult, has since been taken down, but the screenshot Alexzan took remains. As such, we should temper expectations on what we've been p?resented with. However, it is interesting to note that the Doom reboot did launch in May of 2016, while Eternal was released in March of its respec??tive year.

Also, this leaked information comes just one day before the Xbox Developer Direct showcase. The Microsoft-led event is set to take place tomorrow, January 23, at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. We also do know that of the games being featured, Doom: The Dark Ages will be one of them.

Does this mean Bethesda/id Software will officially tell us when we can expect it? It's a possibility. It also s??eems possible that Gamekul??t could be correct about the leaked information, whether it was intended or not. Sure enough, we'll know within the next 24 hours or so.

Over the past few generations, Nvidia has consi??stently launched a new generation of GPUs every two years, with the 4000 series arriving in October 2022. Well, we're due for the RTX 5000 series and while the tech giant is keeping things under wra??ps for now, it looks like the lid was well and truly popped off recently.

As spotted in a report from Videocardz, Hong Kong-based manufacturer ZOTAC seemed to have accidentally listed an Nvidia RTX 5090 in a drop-down menu on its website. Not only that, screensh??ots also show a 5080, 5070 Ti, 5070, and even the Chinese-specific 5090D.

Suffice it to say, it looks as though ZOTAC has been quick to remo?ve these, so you won't find them on the website now. However, it does all but confirm that the RTX 5000 series is imminent, as well as giving us a quick glimpse into some of the next gener?ation's details.

A blunder or a publicity stunt?

As well as showing us a list of what could well be an initial l?ine-up of Nvidia's nex??t-gen GPUs, the report from Videocardz also shows a couple of screenshots that suggest the 5000 series will have upwards of 32GB of RAM and will run on GDDR7 memory.

Given that the RTX 4090 �currently the world's most powerful graphics card �uses GDDR6X and has 24GB of RAM, we can ascertain that Nvidia will be upping the ante for the 50?00 series. Of course??, this would make sense for new-gen hardware, so it's probably not too surprising.

However, we don't appear to have gotten any confirmation about any of this at the time of writing. Nvidia will be attending CES 2025 between January 6 and January 10, so the company will almost certainly be giving us more on the upcoming GPUs during this time. Until then,?? Jensen Huang and his team?? may have to do a little bit of damage limitation as these screenshots circulate further.

Many of you will be aware that Left 4 Dead began as a mod for Counter-Strike called "Terror Strike."?? Howeve?r, it looks as though Valve accidentally released an early version of the former via an update of the latter.

In patch 1.6 of Counter-Strike, players noticed "Terror Strike" had been compiled, seemingly unintentionally, and released to the public as part of the update. A post from Twitter user Gabe Follower shows a ?brief clip from it, with a comment saying that it didn't take? long for the community to work out how to play it.

Indeed, a video from the YouTube channel ilovethevopo not only showed gameplay footage from this Left 4 Dead prototype, but made it available for download.

The basic pieces are all there

As you can see, it looks and plays like Counter-Strike, but with the addition of "zombies" as the player moves around the map. In Gabe Follower's clip, when the player places the bomb down on the target, we hear the familiar Left 4 Dead zombie howl before they're set upon.

During development, L4D was intended as a versus game, but some feedback from Gabe Newell and others at Valve soon saw it change into what we know today. Of course, versus m?ode is still there, but its four player co-operative mode was what made it stand out.

The game turned 15 recently and is still held aloft as one of history's greatest zombie shoot-em-ups. While the likes of Back 4 Blood attempted to revive the dormant series by offering a spiritual successor, in the end it couldn't quite match up to what Left 4 Dead fans were hoping for.

BlizzCon 2023 is less than 30 minutes away, but Overwatch 2 fans won't have to wait to get a glimpse of the next hero coming to the shooter. Fans over at the /r/Overwatch/ reddit noticed an ad on the Nintendo Switch News tab indicating ??the upcoming hero, Mauga, will be available for a free trial we??ekend.

The beefy hero Mauga wields dual chainguns to shred his enemies. M??auga will join Overwatc??h 2 as part of Season 8 which releases on December 5.

Chances are Blizzcon will officially announce Mauga when BlizzCon 2023 kicks off, and it appears the hero will be playable via?? a trial weekend ahead of his release.

UPDATE: As expect, Mauga ha?s been confirmed as the new hero at BlizzCon 2023. Mauga will dualwield chainguns he named Gunny and Cha-Cha, as he mows through front-lines. Ab?ilities appear to be:

• Incendiary Chaingun â€?Ignites enemies.
• Volatile Chaingun â€?Crits burning enemies.
• Overrun â€?Unstoppable charge.
• Cardiac Overdrive â€?Damages enemies while Mauga gains life.
• Cage Fight â€?Infinite ammunition

As previously mentioned, Mauga will indeed release in Overwatch 2 on all platforms on December 5.

Get ready for the next console generation from Xbox. Or at least, get ready for it over the next five years, as leaked information suggests that a possible "hybrid" system from Microsoft could be aiming for? a 2028 release.

A recent post on Resetera (echoed by known leaker Wario64) outlines some Xbo??x projects that are said to be in the pipeline. As well as a series of mid-gen launches for the Xbox Series, there have been some alleged details about the next-gen platform.

It looks as though Microsoft is aimi?ng?? for a console that is "capable of leveraging the combined power of the client and cloud to deliver deeper immersion and entirely new classes of game experiences." Those are certainly some words.

Some other buzzwords and phrases

As well as r?epresenting the next stage in console technology, this unannounced new Xbox is looking to be a hy??brid system with "Cloud-to-Edge architecture," AI optimization, and offer a platform for "immersive app development." It also seems as though Microsoft will be aiming for next gen graphics. Dur.

We should say that this has not been confirmed by Microsoft, but it w??oul??dn't be too far a stretch to assume that the big guns in the gaming world will be starting to think about new-gen.

This speculation comes midway through additional leaks. One of which suggests that The Elder Scrolls 6 may not arrive until 2026. It also speculates that Bethesda may be working on remasters of both Oblivion and Fallout 3.

Whatever the case may be, we should wait until Micr??osoft/Xbox does make an ?official announcement. If there is to be a mid-gen console release, then new-gen will certainly be a few years away.

If you haven't bought a Steam Deck because of the price, you're in some semblance of luck. It turns out that Valve is now selling refurbished models of its handhe??ld gaming PC at discounted prices.

The information was confirmed on the official Steam Deck Twitter page recently. Indeed, if you head over to the store page itself, you can now get repaired versions ?of any of the three var?iations of the device.

According to the tweet, supplies are limited, but they have been "fully tested" and still come with ??a one-year warranty. At the time of writing, the store page is currently out of the 64GB model, so they do seem to be going fast.

Cur?rently, they are priced at $319 (£279) for the 64GB version, $419 (£369) for 256GB, and $519 (£459) f??or 512GB.

Rumors, rumors, rumors

Funnily enough, it came to light that "certified refurbished" Steam Decks were going to go on sale before Valve actually confirmed it. As spotted by Wario64, an image was taken fr??om the Steam store that showed the repaired Decks on sale for a reduced price.

These images were allegedly taken down pretty quickly, but it wasn't long after t??hat the leak was t?hen confirmed.

In any case, it's now come to fruition, so if you want ?a cheaper Deck, now seems to be the tim??e.

The market grows

It's overall good news for those who have been waiting in the wings for the cost of a Steam Deck to go down. Of course, they have been included in recent Steam sale events, but now it seems like selling refurbished one??s may be a more permanent fixture. If you don't mind a second-hand model that's been repaired, it could save you a decent amount of money.

On top of that, the mobile PC gaming market is now getting more competitive. With the ASUS ROG Ally having recently come out (which is more expe??nsive but packs more up-to-date hardware than?? the Steam Deck), there's already an alternative out there.

It's also possible that Lenovo may be making its own device, so things may get crowded in this industry soon. As such,? Valv?e may want to consider how it's going to stay on top. Selling refurbished Steam Decks is just one answer.

But who would buy it?

The newest generation of graphics cards has not been terribly good for Nvidia. The RTX 4000 series has largely been criticized for being pricey and bulky, giving AMD an opportunity to win favor. However, Team Green is soldiering on, and there's a? chance that the 16GB version of the 4060 Ti could be coming very soon.

According to a screenshot uploaded by Twitter user MEGAsizeGPU (as reported by PCGamer), an embargo timeline shows that the latest in the Ada Lovelace range could be h?itting the shelf by July 18. However, do note that this ?has not yet been officially confirmed at the time of writing.

Reports indicate that the Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti 16GB will set you back $499, making it $100 more expensive than the 8GB model. Given that the upcoming GPU only differs from its predecessor by doubling the VRAM (literally everything else is the same), this could easily be an unpopular release for a lot of PC gamers. On top of that, some board partners do not seem excited about the new graphics card, with one telling PCGamer that they were "ambivalent" a??bout it.

The GPU war rages on

AMD and Nvidia are still duking it out for graphics hardware supremacy, but the fact that not many Steam users are using current-gen hardware suggests both tech giants are failing to impress. Much of? it comes down to simply not being worth the cost to upgrade a system with new equipment.

It's a bit of ??a shame that not many people are buying into the Ada Lovelace/RDNA 3 generation of GPU technology. Given that the previous gen suffered from supply issues (brought on largely by the pandemic when demand for PC equipment went up), both Team Green and Team Red were probably hoping a lot more would be keen on the RTX 4000 or RX 7000 series.

That doesn't seem to be the case, and if what the reports are saying is a??nything to go by, the 4060 Ti 16GB isn't really going to do well, either. Maybe Nvidia has an ace up its sleeve for future releases. Maybe Intel will just swoop in and clean up instead. Stranger things have happened.

Modders: do your thing

Studios and publishers would generally agree that video games having their source code leaked is a pretty bad thing. But what if it's an old game that people probably aren't buying these days anyway? That's the case for the original Far Cry from 2004, whose source code cropped up online recent??ly.

The story emerged after Twitter user and Duke Nukem modder Vinícius Medeiros posted a bunch of screenshots showing the complete code for the first Far Cry game. When asked by another user, a link to archive.org was then posted, leading to a download page for anyone interested in checking it out. The files were ??uploaded by user Llaetha.ro in June and are said to be 1.34 version of the game.

Many will assume that this will lead to a lot of fan-made Far Cry mods. However, according to Vinícius Medeiros, the original game itself was already moddable thanks?? to an official level editor. The release of the full source code could, instead, lead to modifications and/or fixes to the game engine its??elf. But we'll have to wait and see what people can come up with.

Don't Cry over spilled Fars

Approaching its 20th year, Far Cry was built on the original version of the CryEngine by CryTek. The engine itself was a marvel of video game technology at the time, particularly when the second iteration was released, which was used in the development of 2007's Crysis. The game was a visual feast, showing not ??only the power of the CryEngine, but also giving PC players a be?nchmark to test their new hardware on.

As for the Far Cry series itself, there were whispers earlier this year that Ubisoft may be working on a seventh installment. We can't sa??y for certain yet, but given how lucrative the franch?ise is for the studio, a new entry is probably on the cards.

At the time of writing, there's been no word from Ubisoft on Far Cry 1's source code being leaked. We know how militant these companies can be when it comes to protecting their IPs. For now, it's likely that s??ome interesting modifications to the game's very core could be inbound.

Ahead of the release of classic compilation Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol1, Konami updated its website with a timeline of the featured games �However, dataminers gon' datamine, and folks prodded around the website might have unearthed the conten??ts of a yet to be announced Volume 2.

According to the uncovered data, the Metal Gear Solid timeline pages features placeholder buttons for a selection of latter-day Metal Gear titles, namely 2008's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, 2010 PlayStation Portable release Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and 2015's magnum opus, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which would be the final title in the ser??ies to be helmed by creator Hideo Kojima.

Should these titles prove to be the lineup for Master Collection Vol.2, then this will be the very first time that Metal Gear Solid 4 has been made available on a platform outside of the PS3. A mysterious new logo is being shared online this morning, purportedly an as-yet-unannounced new project in the popular fantasy franchise, Star Ocean. As reported by RPGSite, a banner for a "Star Ocean The Second Story R" was first discovered on the ?support site of IP owner Square Enix.

Originally released for PlayStation in 1998, Star Ocean: The Second Story is, as the name suggests, the second entry in the action-RPG series, which? won over fans with its sci-fi/fantasy storytelling, myriad paths and conclusions, and very heavy emphasis on dating mechanics between multiple characters, allowing players to essentially dictate both narrative and gameplay through the pairing (or not) of relationships.

The "R" in the new banner suggests that this popular release may be in line for the remake/remaster treatment, though obviously, Square Enix is yet to speak on the discovery. Back in 2019, the publisher released the similarly titled Star Ocean First Departure R on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, which was itself a remaster of the PlayStation Portable (PSP) port of the first game in the series. Thus, a continuation along these lines is very likely, and very good news for Star Ocean fans.

Fortunately, the ball remains round

It looks like the expansive LEGO gaming universe is about to stretch out onto the football pitch, as the ever-faithful spoilers over at The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea has uploaded a new listing for an as-yet-unannounced title, LEGO 2K Goooal!

As this is just a ratings board listing, there is very little info to go on. But we're clearly looking at a soccer title set within the creative building block world of LEGO. This leak ties in with an earlier report by VGC that revealed The LEGO Company was entering a partnership with 2K Games in order to develop a series of titles based around recreational sports. Visual Concepts' LEGO 2K Drive, which was released last month, is the first title in this range, and LEGO 2K Goooal! appears to be next in line.

We can expect an official announcement of LEGO 2K Goooal! from 2K Games and developer S??umo Digital at some point in the nea??r-future, perhaps during a summer event such as Gamescom 2023.

Someone is in trouble

Not only was a Persona 3 remake entitled Persona 3 Reload leaked on Atlus' Instagram, but also a strategy title called Persona 5 Tactica.

As the name implies, Persona 5 Tactica takes the cast of the fifth Persona to the world of tactical RPGs. The trailer mak?es it sound as though ??the gang has been transported to another world. A world of tactics, I'm guessing.

The title briefly popped up on Atlus' Instagram page, and the trailer for it was quickly seized and disseminated across the vast expanses of the internet. This occurred simultaneously with Persona 3 Reload which we covered in a previous post. There's n?o jamming this sleeping ba??g back in its sack.

While Persona 3 Reload has a much more vague release date, Persona 5 Tactica is slated for November 17, 2023. Currently, only Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC have been?? announced. However, keep in mind that this looks to have been meant for a Microsoft stream, and they don't typically advertise when a game is also going to be on other platforms.

A remake of Persona 3 has been rumored for quite a while. Some have speculated that it was partially the reason that we got Persona 3 Portable remastered for modern consoles instead of Persona 3 FES. There were even further leaks later on, ??but their credibility was somewhat in question. Not totally unbelievable, but not proof positive.

However, it looks like someone on Atlus' Instagram account hit post instead of schedule, and the cat got out of the bag. Not only is Persona 3 Reload on the docket, but there is also another spin-off title headed our way called Persona 5 Tactica.

Persona 3 Reload looks to be a top-to-bottom remake of the classic PS2 title. Currently, it's slated for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in early 2024. Since this looks like i?t was going to be part of a Microsoft stream, I wouldn't take that as the gospel. They just wouldn't advertise it being on anyone else's platform.

Stepping out with the Uroboros

It looks like Capcom's previously teased Resident Evil 4 demo will be with us by sundown. At least that's the word going around on Twitch, where a p?op-up ad appears to have jumped the gun a little bit early.

According to Twitch users, a new ad for the upcoming remake has been frequently popping up on the streaming service, emblazoned with the words "Demo Available Now". Given that Capcom has a live stream showcase planned for later today featuring Resident Evil 4, it seems to be a snug assumption that the demo will drop in tandem, likely across PlayStation, PC, and Xbox ?platforms.

A big leak springs ahead of the Zelda launch

A heads-up for those looking to stay spoiler-free ahead of the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: it looks like the art book as leaked online.

Over the weekend, over 200 pages of what looks to be The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom art book leaked online and seeped through various channels. We won't be ??sharing any links or posting any of the leak here, though we've taken a look ourselves to verify its existence??.

Without divulging any details, it does look like the art book for the upcoming Breath of the Wild sequel. And the nice part is, from a cursory scan, nothing jumped out as an obvious spoiler. Still, it's worth being aware that this info is out there, in case you want to go into Tears of the Kingdom as fresh as possible.

Art of the kingdom

It's especially interesting that an art book would leak so far ahead of the release date. We're still a ways out from Tears of the Kingdom's release date of May 12, 2023. This art book is part of what's included in the collector's edition of the game. It is strange that so much info ??would make it out from the book, three months ahead of time.

Still, fans are likely hungry for more information, as it feels like we don't know a ton about this new Zelda. Points like the main antagonist, or the reason why Hyrule is now home to so many floating islands, are all still theories at this time. I'm sure fans are likely to pick this Zelda art book apart loo?king for any info on what could be arriving i??n May.

The Live Service Squad

It looks like Warner Bros. and Rocksteady's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may have some live service features tied into it. A new leak, with details corroborated by VGC, shows mentions of live service f??eatures that include a battle pass.

The leaked image circulated out from 4chan and Reddit and was soon picked up by news outlet VGC. According to a source VGC spoke to, the image comes from a recent test build and shows menus planned for Rocksteady's next game. Among the?se elements are a battle pass, store, and currencies, which would imply some live service features could be in the game.

VGC reports that a development source has said a battle pass is planned, but it would be focused on cosmetic content. The currencies shown also reportedly pertain to XP and skill trees for characters. These characters won't start off weak, according to VGC's source, but will "start off great and can get ridiculous, like Arkham Knight's Batman."

A suicide mission

We haven't seen much Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League gameplay yet that could further back this up or not. Most recently, we saw a cinematic tease of the upcoming anti-hero brawler at The Game Awards 2022. Alongside a release date confirmation for May 26, 2023, Rocksteady also confirmed that Kevin Conroy would be the voice of Batman as well. The voice actor, who played Batman in both the Arkham games series and many animated adaptations, including Batman: The Animated Series, died last year.

This is Rocksteady's first game since 2015's Arkham Knight, so fans are likely curious about how these systems pan out. As is often the case in the lead-up to The Game Awards, several rumors and leaks are floating around the information superhighway ahead of Keighley's grand festivities �Case in point: a tweet published by the Japanese PlayStation Twitter, pointing to an incoming demo for Square Enix adventure Forspoken.

The (now deleted) tweet sported some attractive new splash art, emblazoned with the words "Demo Announcement Trailer". The sudden removal of the tweet suggests that said video is cued to play during tonight's live TGA presentation. The deleted tweet also referenced an 11-minute Forspoken gameplay showcase, which will likely be hosted on the official PlayStation YouTube channel tomorrow, December 9, as part of Forspoken's continuing "Deep Dive" video series.

While Forspoken has had something of an inauspicious start, with online jokesters mocking its marketing strategy and critics raising an eyebrow at some admittedly foolish PR speak, I personally think that Forspoken is an attractive title with potential. A 2023 GOTY contender? maybe not, but it could certainly prove a fun way to kick off 2023's gaming year. No d??oubt Square Enix hopes that allowing players to get their hands on a playable build, giving them the opportunity to explore Athia and meet hero Frey Holland �will help turn around some of this early cynicism ahead of the title's impending release.

Today is a day, and that means its time for a ratings board to reveal the existence of an unannounced game/port �On this occasion, its the turn of 2K Games' Borderlands 3, which is apparentl??y getting a Nintendo Switch port, as leaked by the Pan European Game Infor?mation (PEGI) committee.

The new port, as spotted by Gematsu, was listed on PEGI's website yesterday, appearing alongside its PC and console brethren and with a suggested release date of *checks notes* today! The listing includes the main game, first released in 2020, as well as a huge litany of DLC expansions, including Bounty of Blood, Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, Guns, Love, and Tentacles, and both the Designer and Director's Cut.

Though publisher 2K Games and developer Gearbox Software are yet to announce a Switch port of the nihilistic open-world shooter, the new PEGI rating all but suggests that the hybrid platform is about to get 3000% more explosive in the very near future. There is increasing evidence that Ubisoft is getting set to make its return to PC's popular digital retail platform, Steam. The publisher essentially left the platform in 2019, choosing to release all of its PC out via its in-house Uplay service and? later on Epic Games Store.

The first sign that Ubisoft might be heading back to chez Valve came earlier in November, when a Steam port of Assassin's Creed Valhalla was found lurking in the Ubisoft Connect database. The?? epic Norse adventure, which first launched back in 2020, will be receiving its final update next month, and thus is?? a prime candidate for a "complete edition" debut on Steam in time for the holidays.

But Ubisoft's comeback plans were practically confirmed yesterday, when then colorful wheelie racer Roller Champions made a brief appearance on the Steamdb. Initially spotted by known Ubisoft leaker YoobieRE, the free-to-play title swiftly had its status hidden shortly thereafter. But, given the clarity of these two leaks, it seems highly likely that we can expect an official announcement from Ubisoft soon. As a somewhat-struggling multiplayer-centric title, a new Steam port could only serve to widen the Roller Champions audience and benefit the game as a whole.

Ubisoft is currently working on Assassin's Creed Mirage, which will launch for PC and consoles in 2023.

Later today, Konami will take to the digital stage for a special presentation focusing on future releases in the MIA horror series, Silent Hill �Bafflingly, however, the YouTube channel prepped for this afternoon's "Silent Hill Transmission" already contains code see??mingly identifying several as-yet-unannounced en?tries.

Possible spoilers �direct from the developer itself, mind �follow.

Firstly, the YouTube channel description blurb includes a placeholder for "Silent Hill 2" on the PlayStation Store, suggesting a pre-order link for a potential remaster/remake. In addition, digging into the site's address bar and embed code has lifted the lid on an array of mysterious terms, all of which may or may not relate to one, or numerous, new entries. You wait years for a new Silent Hill etc... etc...

Among the titles discovered in the embed code are "Silent Hill", "Silent Hill 2", "Silent Hill F", and "Silent Hill: Ascension". At a guess, this would suggest that Konami's stream may include the reveal of a brand new entry �Silent Hill: Ascension �as well as the announcement of the aforementioned remake/remaster of Silent Hill 2. The 2001 release is very much a fan-favorite in the series' spooky canon of release??s and, as such, a prime candidate to make a grand return on? modern platforms.

As for the identity of "Silent Hill F", this could just be a mere placeholder. I'm willing to bet that it stands for "Silent Hill: Frogger" �a sure thing?? given that Konami also owns that cla?ssic, road-crossing IP.

The truth will out this evening, when Konami finally takes to the airwaves for its Silent Hill Transmission stream. It's a leaky start to the week

One major game has already seen a major leak of info, and now it looks like another is joining the lineup. A leak of early footage of Diablo IV has been making the rounds, sh?owing off more of the RPG in action.

Spotted by sites like PC Gamer, a Reddit user linked some footage from a filesharing site which seems to have footage from a private test build of Diablo IV.

We've looked at the footage to verify its existence and yes, it sure does look like Diablo. Alongside ?the giant watermarks plastered across the video, it's got shops, towns, and placeholders.

We reached out to Blizzard for confirmation of the fo??otage's validity?? and comment.

Numbers go up

It was a notable weekend for leaks, as a massive pile of Grand Theft Auto VI footage also found its way online. Rockstar confirmed the leak's validity this mo?rning, adding a statement addressi?ng the leak.

"We are extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned, and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations. We will update everyone again soon, and of course, will properly introduce you to this next game when it is ready.?"

Unlike GTA, we've seen quite a bit of Diablo IV through various previews and trailers. Still, a leak?'s a ??leak, and this puts some footage out without any context.

Blizzard has not commented on the leak as of this writing. The studio has released an update on Diablo IV, however. An endgame closed beta is on the way, with direct invites rolling out using g??ameplay data.

The cat was out of the bag this past weekend with a massive GTA 6 leak, featuring multiple videos and screenshots. While it looked very authentic in many ways, you can never be too careful now with incredibly good-looking fakes.

With that in mind, Rockstar ?got ahead of the situation and just confirmed it for us.

Not much has changed, back to business as usual

As the statement intimates, the team (after likely having a weekend of panic) will go back to work, and continue to develop GTA 6 with their heads down. Although we do likely know about the "Bonnie and Clyde" framework and the location of the game (which is seemingly a return to Vice City), most of the other inner workings are still under wraps (plus, this footage was clearly taken from an early development stage). In other words, there's still plenty of opportunity fo??r bigger, slicker reveals.

Given that it's been over nine years now (as of this past week) since Grand Theft Auto V was released, folks are definitely itching for more in?fo. As with everything Rockstar, it'll come when it comes.

Vice, Vice, Baby

A mysterious leak has surfaced online, claiming to showcase development footage, screenshots, and plot details pertaining to Rockstar Games' upcoming sequel Grand Theft Auto 6 �the assets were uploaded to popular GTA 6 community GTA Forums overnight.

The videos, all of which have since been removed from YouTube, included footage of unfinished player characters and NPCs traversing a strip club, using an intercity metro train, and robbing a fast food restaurant, Pumpkin and Honey Bunny style. This footage (assuming that it's legitimate) would validate earlier reports that the GTA 6 narrative will focus on "Bonnie and Cly?de"-style dual protagonist??s.

In total, around 90 video clips (mostly only seconds long) were archived in the leak, with some builds dating back to 2019/2020, suggesting that ?this was very, very early foo?tage, in no way close to being reflective of the eventual magnum opus.

All of the clips seemingly take place in Vice City, the locale of GTA's stellar 2002 iteration. Again, this has previously been reported as the setting for Grand Theft Auto 6. While none of the footage, screens, or details have been officially confirmed as legitimate (of course), it has to be said that if it is fake, then someone ??has gone to really ridiculous lengths in ?order to put it together... but then, they would, wouldn't they?

Regardless of the leak's authenticity, the fact remains that GTA 6 is still a long way from laying down skidmarks on your living room carpet. Frequent industry spoiler Tom Henderson has already stated previously that they do not expect Rockstar to release the sequel until late 2024 at the absolute earliest. Frankly, they have all the time in the world. Given that GTA V is not only the second-best-selling video game of all time, but is still raking in mucho dollarydoos thanks to its multiplayer element, GTA Online. GTA 6 is highly likely to see the same leve??l of stupendous success whenever it shows its ski-masked face.

Unearthed Treasure

Tokyo Game Show is yet to officially get underway, but already it seems that some of its surprises are just too durn exciting to keep under wraps. According to a new leak uncovered by Gematsu, legendary shmup developer Treasure is getting set to reveal a new project under the banner of one of its best-loved IPs, Radiant Silvergun.

Gematsu found evidence of a new Radiant Silvergun title after poking around the TGS website uploaded by publisher Happinet. Alongside assets and titles pulled from over 30 franchises was a brand new logo simply depicting "Radiant Silvergun," complete with a silhouette of the game's iconic starship. Treasure, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, will apparently be showcasing the new title at this year's TGS, ??which will no doubt get retro game fans?? and shmup aficionados into a suitable tizzy.

Radiant Silvergun was released in Japanese arcades in May 1998, before finding its way onto the Sega Saturn in the console's twilight years. For the longest of times, it would remain something of an urban legend among western players, available only via expensive imports and poor early-day emulation. The classy shmup would eventually be ported to Xbox 360 in 2011, which represented the title's first, readily available, global release. Today, Radiant Silvergun still? stands proud, holding a deserved reputation as a genuine classic of the genre.

What form this project will take remains to be seen, but I would think a remaster or remake is more likely than a sequel. In either case, we won't have to wait too much longer to find out, as Tokyo Game Show will kick off September 15, emanating from Chiba's Makuhari Messe complex. Regular as clockwork, French retailer Dealabs has leaked the three titles heading subscribers' way as part of the coming month's PlayStation Plus Essential offerings. According to the site, September will see EA racer Need for Speed HEAT, CyGames' fighter Granblue Fantasy: Versus, and delightful indie adventure TOEM made available for downlo??ad to PlayStation Plus members everywhere.

Released in the fall of 2019, Need for Speed HEAT is the 24th title in Electronic Arts' long-running racing series, and represents the final series entry developed by Ghost Games, before the franchise was returned to its veteran deve??loper, Criterion Games, who continue to develop the series today.

Set against the backdrop of Miami stand-in Palm City, NFS HEAT features an open-plan city packed out with races, challenges, and objectives, while a story campaign sees the player attempt to climb the ranks of an underground racing collective known as The League. NFS HEAT received middling praise fro?m critics and players on release.

2020's Granblue Fantasy: Versus is a 2.5D fighting spin-off set within the universe of cult RPG franchise Granblue Fantasy. Developed by the tried and tested folks at Arc System Works, Granblue Fantasy: Versus sees a charismatic and compelling, (as well as highly attractive), cast of characters battle it out in well-designed one-on-one fist?icuffs.

Always facing an uphill battle due to the niche branding, GF:V is assuredly a solid fighter, but unfortunately struggles in an online capacity due to its smaller community and lack of rollback netcode. It remains, however, an engaging, great-looking fighter with a small army? of devoted players.

Made with passion and enthusiasm by independent outfit Something We Made, TOEM: A Photo Adventure is, as the title suggests, a thoroughly wholesome affair based on the concept of taking photos while exploring an ethe?real fantasy mountainscape, meeting its denizens, and learning its legacy.

While on a pilgrimage to experience the titular "TOEM," the player will encounter various characters and puzzles, all of which can be helped with the aid of some snap-happy camerawork. An Xbox dashboard advert appears to have jumped the gun a little early, and has apparently leaked two new characters who are in line to join the chaotic crossover brawler MultiVersus. The ad, which quickly became widespread on social media, points to the two newcomers being DC anti-hero Black Adam and Stripe, the malevolent antagonist of Joe Dante's 1984 horror-comedy, Gremlins.

Debuting way back in 1945, and under the license of Fawcett Comics, Black Adam was an arch enemy of Shazam! (then still "Captain Marvel"). Originally an ancient Egyptian predecessor of Shazam, DC Comics has readapted Black Adam time and again as a frequent villain, sometimes anti-hero, and othertimes straight hero. Perhaps one of the single most alliance-jumping characters in comic book history, Black Adam will soon make his big-screen debut in a new ?movie, portrayed by D?wayne Johnson.

Stripe is the closest Gremlins has to an antagonist, given the character's nature as the self-appointed alpha of the mischievous monsters. A clone of good guy Mogwai Gizmo, birthed after the latter was splashed with water, Stripe leads his brethren on a Christmas rampage through the town of Kingston? Falls, afforded a disgusting new form after tricking owner Billy Peltzer into feeding him after midnight.

As the curtain fell on Evo 2022's final Street Fighter V: Champion Edition tournament, Capcom took the opportunity to reveal brand new trailers for two of the World Warriors coming to next year's Street Fighter 6. Give it up for funky? fly newcomer Kimberly and, the Korean razor bl??ade herself, Juri Han!

Juri, who made her debut in Super Street Fighter IV, was pretty much a shoo-in for the new title, having frequently posted highly as one of the Street Fighter fan community's most? popular characters. And it seems, in a post-S.I.N. and Shadaloo society, that Juri's days of assassination and corporate espionage are behind her, replaced with days of looking dope as fuck while searching the world for furt??her blood-pumping thrills.

Making her Street Fighter debut, Kimberly is one of several new characters who will be hitting the avenues and alleyways of Street Fighter 6, looking to make her mark alongside street kids such as Luke and Jamie. A practitioner of bushinryu, (the martial art mastered by Final Fight hero Guy), Kimberly infuses her traditional and precise ninja stylings with a Day-Glo love of 1980s culture. Kimberly is sure to bring a wild palette of color to SF6's graffiti aesthetic an?d could prove to be one of the gam?e's most charismatic and flamboyant breakout stars.

Of course, by now we've all but confirmed that the earlier full roster leak is legitimate, so it just becom?es a case of waiting to see who is next to make the presence officially known. I gotta admit, I was convinced they'd save Juri for a later reveal, but I guess when all eyes are on Evo, you probably want to drop your superstars. And, boy howdy, is she a superstar. I'm already feeling the new characters, as well as the sequel's overall vibe, and these videos have me thirsty for more.

Yukes, THQ, and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) have "officially announced" the company's first-ever foray into the video game world, AEW: Fight Forever. While the existence of the game was no secret, the teams put out today's statement after multiple retailers �including Amazon UK and Xtralife �reveal?ed several features, modes, roster members, and the cover art to t??he debutante wrestling title.

According to the retailer listings and the official statement, ??the digital ring-rocker will feature newly optimized tag mechanics, support for online Vs/co-op multiplayer, as well as a huge arsenal of over 40 weapons, daily in-game challenges, and much more. A selection of featured match types includes standard one-on-one, multi??-wrestler, and tag-team showdowns, Ladder matches, Unsanctioned Lights Out brawls, Exploding Barb Wire Death Matches, and, an AEW trademark, the Casino Battle Royale.

A selection of new screenshots, (alongside what is hopefully placeholder artwork for the final release), features known roster members Kenny Omega, Nyla Rose, Kris Statlander, and Chris Jericho depicted alongside as-yet-unannounced AEW stars such as Dr. Britt Baker, Jon Moxley, Yuka Sakazaki, Darby Allin, Abadon, Thunder Rosa, and the current AEW TBS Champion, Jade Cargill. Referee Aubrey Edwards is also present, presiding ove??r the in-ring action.

"One of the first things I did after signing with AEW was to ask [AEW promoter] Tony Khan to let me help assemble the best gaming team on the planet, to make the best wrestling game ever," said Omega, EVP of AEW. The road to release has been something of a rocky one for AEW: Fight Forever. Originally announced back in November 2020, the drip-feed of information and in-game footage has been relatively slow �with even these retail listings offering up far more information on the title than anything that has been officially released by the promotion itself. There have also been online whispers that Fight Forever is having a difficult development cycle, with stories of creative differences betw?een the developers and wrestlers involved, as well as unconfirmed rumors that the project has already gone way over?? budget.

AEW: Fight Forever, deep in development at veteran wrestling game studio Yukes, is currently scheduled to release on PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms. There is still no word of an official la??unch date outside of its tentative release window of 2022.

Right on cue, the sneaky petes over at Dealabs have leaked Sony's PlayStation Plus offerings for the coming month of August �and this one is a real doozy, as subscribers at the Essential tier or higher will bag themselves the fantastic releases Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS4/PS5), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 (PS4/PS5), and Little Nightmares (PS4).

Released in January 2020, Sega's Yakuza: Like a Dragon had some mighty shoes to fill, specifically the snakeskin shoes of beloved protagonists Kazuma Kiryu. If a change of protagonist wasn't enough, the developer Team Yakuza also took the bold step of replacing the series' brawler action with a suitably slapstick take on turn-based strategy. Against all the odds, the changes were a hit with the majority of the fanbase, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon launched to rave praise, becoming one of 2020's b?est-loved titles.

Developed by veteran studio Vicarious Visions, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 was a ground-up remake of two of the most iconic PlayStation releases of all time. Meticulously recreating the original titles' maps, mechanics, and rhythm to a 1:1 capacity, Vicarious Visions absolutely delivered, with a title that sports the modern aesthetics of today's technology, married to the excellent and compelling gameplay of the '90s classics. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is o?ne of the most authentic remakes ever crafted.

Over on the spooky side of life, cult puzzle platformer Little Nightmares was developed by indie outfit Tarsier Studios and published by Bandai Namco back in the fall of 2017. Featuring a compelling and unnerving creepy-cute aesthetic, Little Nightmares sees players guide our brave hero, Six, as she picks her way through a twisted, dark world, solving puzzles and avoiding dangers on a quest to return to the real world as we know it. Highly praised for its atmosphere and smart design, Little Nightmares would be followed by a sequel in 2021.
