Twenty years ago, we were in 2004, one of the best years in the history of gaming. So many games have come out since then, and the industry has gone through so many changes. Did a series manage to rule all ??others sales-wise? Is it the series you'd expect? Can you guess the highest-selling games of the past two decades?

Fortunately, you don't have to think too hard about it. Consumer behavior advisory firm Circana, known for its in-depth research into video game data, released its findings of the top 20 best-selling games for the past decade. At the top of the list each year is more ??than a few surprises?.

2004: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

2004 was the year when Rockstar cemented their flagship IP as the most successful video game series in the world. Even the massive Halo 2 came out ??in second. Madden NFL 2005 came in third; another series you better get used to seeing on this list.

2005: Madden NFL 06

You'd think it was the absence of a GTA or Halo release that allowed for the Madden series to get the top spot, but we also had the release of Resident Evil 4 �which doesn't even show up on the podium. The original Star Wars: Battlefront II �the one without all the bugs at launch �came out in second. The Call Of Duty series was beginning to show its teeth by c??laiming the third spot.

2006: Madden NFL 07

Though Gears Of War was by far the most popular game of '07, it was yet another first place for the Madden series. Gears Of War managed to come in second, with NCAA Football 07 claiming the third spot.

2007: Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

2007 was a massive year for Guitar Hero, as the third game in the series got the top spot, and Guitar Hero 2 managed to be third. Madden NFL 08 got the second place this time around.

2008: Rock Band

2008 was another great year for Harmonix (how the tables have turned) with Rock Band, the studio's most ambitious title, claiming the top spot, and Guitar Hero: World Tour claiming the runner-up spot. Wii Fit came out in third.

2009: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

And this was when Call of Duty truly began to rule the world. Modern Warfare managed to beat out the huge Wii Fit to claim the top spot, and New Super Mario Bros. Got the third spot.

2010: Call of Duty: Black Ops

Another year, another victory lap for Call of Duty, this time with Black Ops getting the top spot. Halo: Reach's valiant efforts got it the second place, and Wii Fit Plus remained a solid seller in third place.

2011: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Let's just talk about the second and third place, shall we? Even the massively successful The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim fell to Modern Warfare 3, and the Madden series returned to third place on the podium with Madden NFL 12.

2012: Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Halo 4 is one of the most divisive entries in the series, but it came out surfing a wave of immense hype following the passing of the torch to 343 Industries. Whether or not it was deserving of the hype, Halo 4 once again managed to cling only the second place to Black Ops II's gold. Madden NFL 13 gets the bronze medal once again.

2013: Grand Theft Auto V

Finally, the only series that could ever hope to beat Call Of Duty does it. Call Of Duty doesn't fall much behind, though, as even the so-so Call Of Duty: Ghosts manages to get the second place. The Madden series goes three-for-three as Madden NFL 25: 1989 �2014 once again gets the third spot.

2014: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Advanced Warfare saw Call Of Duty go back to its natural habitat, while the original Destiny reached the second position. Grand Theft Auto V began to hint at its ??amazing longevity by getting the third spot.

2015: Call of Duty: Black Ops III

Guess who got the first place in 2015. Not even the highly anticipated Fallout 4 could stop Black Ops III from getting the top spot. Grand Theft Auto V stayed in a very comfortable third place.

2016: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Infinite Warfare took the first spot against Battlefield 1, a game many hoped could finally dethrone the COD series. It did not. Tom Clancy's The Division got the third place.

2017: Call of Duty: WWII

In a redo of 2014, the newest iteration of Call Of Duty leaves the newest iteration of Destiny, Destiny 2, in the second place. NBA 2K comes back to the scoreboard as NBA 2K18 gets the third place.

2018: Red Dead Redemption II

Rockstar did it again in 2018 when Red Dead Redemption II was finally able to beat that year's iteration of Call Of Duty, Black Ops 4. NBA 2K19 got the third place.

2019: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)

Everything goes back to normal in 2019, where the Modern Warfare remake claims the top spot, and NBA 2K20 and Madden NFL 20 claim the second and third places, respectively.

2020: Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War

2020 was an even better-than-usual year for the Call Of Duty series, as it got the top spot with Cold War, and Modern Warfare stayed on the podium to take second place. NBA 2K21 got the third place.

2021: Call of Duty: Vanguard

Another year, another COD in first, another NBA (2K22) in second, and yet another COD in third, with Cold War staying for the third place.

2022: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

Though Elden Ring was easily the most talked about and beloved game of 2022, the top spot went to, you guessed it, another COD game. NBA 2K23 came back to get yet another third place.

2023: Hogwarts Legacy

And in an absolute monkey paw-type scenario, the COD series got beaten to first place in 2023 by the absolutely vile Hogwarts Legacy. Another twist was the absence of the NBA 2K series and the resurgence of Madden, with Madden NFL 24 coming in third.

If you, like me, have spotted the #MCAA hashtag popping up on Twitter and TikTok, you likely weren't able to guess it refers to Minecraft's very own college football league. The MCAA name is a spoof of the NCAA acronym, so it stands for Minecraft Collegiate Athletic Association.

Now, the thing is, MCAA isn't a real football league. It's a new trend where Minecraft players use the game's tools to create or spoof teams, g?ames, and hilarious college football highlights.

So, instead of actual teams like Old Miss or Virginia Tech, you have teams such as the Ole Moo and?? Pig State, which, let's be honest, could very well pass for real team names. As most of these teams are named after animals, their fanbase and players also tend to be composed of said animal.

Gainfully employed villagers in Minecraft can easily score you plenty of resources ??through a simple trade, so you don’t need to waste time gathering them yourself. With 15 professions in total, there are tons of items these guys can provide you with.

However, not all working villagers are equal. Some are simply more useful than others, and that’s why we’re here to rank them. This is every profession for villagers in Minecraft, from least to most useful.

Nitwit

Of course, the nit??wit is here to begin as the most useless profession for a villager because they don’t have a profession. Not only do these villagers not have any job at all, but they also cannot get one either.

Nitwits will be wearing a green top?, so luckily you can spot them pretty easily. They have no job site block and will simply wander around all ??day. How fitting for their name.

Unemployed

Only a slight step above the nitwit are the unemployed villagers. They function the same as nitwits, only these?? guys can actually be assigned a job to do. So, if you’re in need of something, find a job site block and put them to work. 

Leatherworker

Now onto the real professions, unfortunately nowadays the leatherworker ??????????????????????????doesn’t offer much value. This villager will offer you leather-related items, such as leather armor, leather horse armor, and rabbit hide. None of these items will provide much use to you.

However, their job site block is a Cauldron, whic?h you can use to store things like lava. So even if the leatherworker doesn’t give?? you much, at least the cauldron offers some use.

Shepherd

Shepherds spend their days working with wool, which in Minecraft means you’ll only be getting decorations from them. However, while things like paintings, banners, carpets, or wool won’t help you survive, they certainly will make your Minecraft house look lovely, and that’s better than nothing.

The job site block for this villager is the Loom.

Mason/Stone Mason

With their job site block being a Stonecutter, it’s obvious what masons do. They work with stone, offering for trade items like polis??hed stone?? blocks, terracotta of all kinds, clay, and quartz. These make for great building blocks, and if you’re looking to build a beautiful city, you’ll want at least one villager working this job.

Fisherman

Fishermen are exactly how they sound â€?they go out and catch fish. They’ll trade fishing items, cooked fish like salmon and cod, and campfires. However, unless you’re a hardcore fishing enthusiast in Minecraft or love eating fish, you probably wonâ€?™t get too much use out of them.

But fishermen do allow y??ou to trade your own caught fish for emeralds, which puts them up higher on this list. You can get tons of these gems this way, which can then be used to trade elsewhere. Their job site block is a Barrel.

Librarian

The librarian is the keeper of books in a village, and notably, they keep enchanted books. While some players prefer to i?gnore the enchanted book mechanics, others love them, so how usef??ul this profession is in your village is up to your playstyle. 

Their job site block is a Lectern, and luckily if you’re not interested in enchanted books you can still trade them for other items, such as clocks, glass, compasses, and regular bookshelves to get level 30 enchantments on your own.

Butcher

Butchers can be found at the Smoker for their job site block, cooki?ng meat all day. This means you can trade them for both cooked stews and cooked meats of all kinds, l??ike steak and pork chops. You can also get sweet berries from them.

These guys are a great source? of food for any village. When you’re off adventuring, instead of having to find it yourse?lf, you can simply stock up at the butcher’s and be on your way.

Fletcher

If the bow is your favorite weapon in Minecraft,? then the Fletcher is a worker you need in your village. This villager wil??l offer all kinds of bows, crossbows, and arrows for your convenience. At higher levels, they can even offer enchanted ones. 

The fletcher’s job site block is the appropriately named Fletching Table. If bows aren’t your weapon of choice, you might not get much use ??out of these villagers, but if you’re a sharpshooter this is a great worker to have.

Toolsmith

Just as they are titled, the toolsmith will be crafting and trading all sorts of tools for you to use. Whether you need an axe, shovel, hoe, pickaxe, or anything else, the toolsmith wi?ll have it. You can find them at Smithing Tables, which also provi?de a spot for you to upgrade diamond tools. 

Yo??u can even get bells from these guys, so they’re a solid villager to have working around town.

Cleric

Every village needs a magic shop, and that’s what the cleric, found at Brewing Stands, is for. These villagers will trade you a wide variety of magical items, including ender pea?rl?s, redstone dust, glowstone dust, and more. 

These items can be tough to come across on your own, so having a cleric in town is always a big help if? you’re hunting for these items.

Cartographer

The cartographer is able to trade you empty maps, frames, and banne?rs. With their job site block being a Cartography Table, these vill?agers work hard to make maps of important explorer maps, as well. You’ll definitely want one of these in town, even though they’re pricey.

Farmer

The most common villager profession is also one of ?the most useful. The humble farmer, whose job site block is a Composter, offers you an endless supply of high-level food, and crops. This includes bread, cook?ies, cake, pie, and even golden carrots at higher levels. If you somehow don’t have a farmer in your village, you better get one.

Armorer

An armorer will craft exactly what their title is, armor. They’ll offer tons of great armor for trade, plus shields, a bell, and even enchanted armor pieces if they’re an expert. Since there are tons of monsters roaming around Minecraft, one of the best PS5 survival games, you’ll need protect??ion, and the armorer can give it to you.

You can find them at Blast?? Furnaces, which is used to mel?t ores. 

Weaponsmith

Finally, we reach the best of the best. That is the weaponsmith, and this villager will stock you up on every weapon you need. You can trade them for swords and axes, and just like the armorer, these can be enc??hanted if they’re an expert.

Their job site block is a Grindstone, and you can also get bells and minerals?? from them. This variety of incredibly useful items makes them the most useful villager profession in the game.

ManDooMiN is an incredibly talented Minecraft builder, and I was spoiled for choice when trying to decide which of their builds to showcase here. I ultimately settled on this one, because the shape and layout are so different from anything else I’ve seen. Spread across three disconnected yet fluid levels, this house includes?? all ?of the necessities and absolutely does not lack style. 

Underwater Mountain House

If you want some protection from the elements and beasties outside your door, there isn’t a much better place to build than inside a mountain. Combining that with also being underwater adds an extra layer of protection, and this build by Zaypixel not only provides the?? best of both build choices, but also comes ??with a killer view of the lake beyond the window. 

Underground Base

Underground bases are an absolute staple, and they don’t come much more sleek and well thought out than this beauty by IrieGenie. With fully glass roofs to make the most of the sunlight and ample space for everything you could ever need, it’s a hole in the ground with sty?le, and you could definitely settle here for a while. 

Modern Mansion

Until now, everything included on this list has been relatively compact, but this build absolutely smashes that trend. This mansion by FlyingCow is absolutely huge and has more space than I’d know what to do with, and its incredible almost-symmetry is really appealing. Building something this big is definitely a big task, but the results speak ?for themselves. 

Treehouse

There’s no better feeling than waking up in the morning to a glorious view, and they don’t come much better than the vista offered by this treehouse. Built by Mia Bloom, this treehouse has two individual pods und??er the foliage of this huge tree and blends in beautifully with its surroundings.

Ultimate Underwater Base

My jaw hit the floor the first time I saw this build. It’s t?ruly gargantuan, not that you’d know that if you only saw the small cabin that marks the entrance in the middle of the water. With a huge central area, a small pod on each side, and 360 views of the squid and fish swimming around you, this underwater base by Ekjoy Craft is truly inspirational. 

Epic Water House

There’s something mesmerizing about this half-underwater build by LubovLC, and the more I look at it, the more inspiration I feel. It’s almost like a sculpture but includes all of the items you’ll need to survive in relative comfort and store all of your resources. With a design like t??his, you’d never feel the need to build another base again. 

Steampunk Airship

Looking for something a little on the stranger side of design? This steampunk airship by DiddiHD is an absolute masterpiece. Complete with rigging and a sky bridge, it’s safe to say that you’d never lose this house while?? going about your adventures. 

Hanging House 

This hanging pod by SheepGG looks incredibly cozy and offers views all around the canyon over which it hangs. Admittedly, it looks like it would swing in the wind and cause a touch of seasickness if you’re prone to it, but sometimes you? need to take style over the comfort of your stomach, and this is one of those times. 

Floating Castle

Something about this floating castle by Twin Saw is reminiscent of the best fantasy games, and it wouldn’t look out of place in a Zelda or Final Fantasy title. The green roofs and inspired use of lighting make this build appear almost ethereal, and if this doesn’t inspire you to think outside of the box when it comes to your own b?uilds, then I don’t know what will. 

Mushroom House

There’s something so cute and charming about a mushroom house, and this one is definitely one of the best I’ve seen. Built by BlueNerd, this mushroom house has a surprising amount of space inside fo??r all of your items and resources, and you won’t be able to miss the bright red caps from a distance, so you’ll never lose your house, ??either!

Moon House

This incredible build by Shovel241 is like something straight out of a fantasy book and looks almost witchy with the moon surro??????????????????????????unding the cottage inside. This is proof that you can add some personality to your houses and a lot of color without compensating for style.

To top off the survival experience of Rust, all servers get reset on the final Thursday of each month. This means that all of your bases, and all of your progress??, is removed, and once again, you find yourself naked on the sand with only a rock.  

Ark: Survival Evolved

Have you ever wanted to tame dinosaurs and don them in mecha suits that turn them into war machines to use in survival against other players? Well, if that’s the case, then Ark: Survival Evolved might just be the survival game you’ve been looking for. You can play either single-pla?yer or multiplayer and form tribes with others on your server. 

It goes without saying that you begin your life in Ark: Survival Evolved with nothing, and you have to gathe??r and craft your way up. Eventually, you can tame dinosaurs as mounts and take on mythical creatures. You can even build mobile bases on the backs of some of the larger prehistoric beasties, giving you the ultimate RV. 

Subnautica

Subnautica is unlike any other game on this list because you have no land to stand on. Well, aside from the giant ship that you get to explore as part of the story and two islands you’ll get to eventually. You’ll need to gather blueprints, resources, and food in order to survive in the middle of an alien sea, surrounded by absolutely giant and very hos??tile alien creatures. 

There are multiple modes that you can enable while playing Subnautica, with Creative Mode disabling all depletable characteristics like health and?? thirst. On the other end of the spectrum, Hardcore Mode removes warnings of low oxygen levels and includes a gamer's worst fear �Permadeath. If you die, your save file will be gone forever. 

No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky got off to a rocky start when it was first released back in 2016,? but it’s become a be?loved title in the survival genre thanks to multiple game-changing updates. Now, it’s an example of everything a good survival game should be. 

As a humanoid explorer of? the planets, you wake up on ??a random planet with a crashed spaceship and only a multitool to help you navigate the strange world. On the plus side, the multitool not only allows you to scan and gather resources but also acts as your first weapon if you encounter any alien creatures out to kill you. 

Grounded

Grounded is my personal idea of hell, and seems as though it took heavy inspiration from Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Shrunk down to ?the size of an ant and suddenly needing to survive in a world filled with giant insects, you’ll gradually become more hungry and thirsty as tim?e goes on, having to gather resources and water to survive. 

What’s worse is that Spiders are considered an “apex predatorâ€?in the world of Grounded, and as an arachnophobe, having a giant spider chase you across the backyard while you’re starving and dying is not my idea of a fun time. With that said, Grounded does have an ar??achnophobia mode, and I guess ?your enjoyment of this will depend on how much bugs give you the ick. 

The Forest

If surviving against insects isn’t your idea of a good time, then how about surviving in a world filled with cannibals who not only want to kill you but also rip the flesh from your bones? The Forest is the predecessor to Sons of the Forest, and if you play through The Forest and find it enjoyable, I strongly suggest that you pick up the s?equel as well. 

The best survival method for The Forest is to focus on building and exploring during the day, as the mutants with nefarious intentions come out in the dark of n??ight. There’s a huge level of fear and anxiety that you’ll feel when playing through this one, but it’s also hugely satisfying to survive and get through the story. 

Pacific Drive

If you’re looking for a survival game with a bit of a four-wheeled twist, then Pacific Drive is definitely the way to go. Using your trusty (if a little run-down) station wagon, you can drive acr?oss the map to scavenge and gather r??esources to improve both your own chances of survival and the car itself. 

Your car is fully custo?mizable, and you’ll need to focus on repairs and upgrades so that you can explore further and survive for longer. Anomalies around the map will affect you or the car in different ways, such as scrambling the controls for the car or inflicting damage, so be careful as you expl??ore. 

This War of Mine

This War of Mine is the only survival game on this list that isn’t played through a first-person POV. Instead, you’re in control of a group of people who are hiding in a damaged house? after fleeing from a war. They can’t venture outside in the daylight, as there are snipers waiting to take them out, and you’re low on resources. 

Each controllable character has its own backstory, and you need to keep each of them alive as you wait for the ceasefire to come. However, there is no fixed timeframe for this event, so you’ll just need to keep going until it comes. Th?is War of Mine is haunting and definitely something you should try if you’re into sur??vival games. 

Green Hell

Green Hell can be played ??in either single-player or co-op multiplayer mode and is an op?en-world survival game set in the Amazon Rainforest. As you likely expect by now, you’ll need to gather resources, build shelter, and find food in order to survive. 

If you choose to follow the story, which is entirely optional, then you’ll go o??ff in search of your wife, who went missing after venturing out on a solo trip to a local tribal village. Unfortunately, you??r only contact with her is through the radio, and the local Yabahuaca tribe has not taken kindly to the presence of researchers in their jungle.

Every new biome ??brings a host of new challenges and ??unique build features for crafters to try. However, due to Overworld's massive size, it can be difficult to narrow their location.

Fortunately, there's an easy way to find Minecraft's new? bi??ome, the Pale Garden, and we're here to show you where to go.

How to find the Pale Garden biome in Minecraft

You must download the correct version first to uncover the Pale Garden in Minecraft. Currently, it only works with Java Edition's Snapshot, using the Minecraft Launcher. Locate the Snapshot file in 'I??nstallations' to activate the game's new content. You may have to attach the latest Data Packs here to gain access to upcoming features.

Once the world loads in, you can easily find Minecraft's Pale Garden by entering the command, '/locate biome minecraft:pale_garden.' ?Use the coordinat?es shown here to determine where the nearest garden is. If you want to reach there quickly, enter the '/tp' command to teleport there instantly.

You may also be lucky enough to find a Pale Garden by chance. It's not the most suitable method, but you can see what awaits you through standard exploration. Both techniques will work for the official version (outside of SnapShot) and will be available shortly for Bedrock Edition users.

All Pale Garden features in Minecraft

Now that you've found the Pale Garden, what does it actually do? Well, the first thing you'll notice is the new Pale trees, which give off a pretty dead-looking appearance. However, if you turn them into planks, you'll uncover the latest wooden blocks with wh?ite coloring, almost similar to birch. It'll also un?lock recipes like Pale Oak Door, Fence Gates, and Boats.

Moss will grow from these trees, allowing you to pi??ck them up with y??our shears. They make great decorations for your builds, where you can establish your very own Pale Garden biome.

If you take a look around the Pale Garden, you may notice that no animal mobs spawn here. That means it'll be more desolate than usual, but there is one foe you need to look for. More specifically, you must watch out for the Creaking mob, who will disguise itself as a tree in the biom?e.

Unlike the Enderman, the Creaking mob is a different kind of challenge. The moment you catch its eye, it freezes in its tracks. But don't let your guard down - if you lose sight of it, it will rush towards you for an attack. Remember, you can't hit it directly with a sword or any other weapon. Your ?goal here is to find and eliminate its heart.

The Creaking Heart typically spawns in a nearby tree, which will be pretty hidden. Follow the illuminating pathway from the mob to narrow down its location. The block will also have a noticeable red/orange color to help you differentiate from others. Then, you can take the heart down to defeat the Pale Garden's new mob in Minecraft.

Anvils are a fantastic functional block in Minecraft for renaming, repairing, and adding enchantments to your gear. You can even use them as a damage block if you drop them from a high place, making for some surprisingly overpowered situations if a mob or player?? gets stuck in one spot.

How to craft an Anvil in Minecraft

Crafting an anvil requires obtaining 31 iron ingots, turning 27 into iron blocks, and arranging them in a sideways "H" sh?ape in a crafting table. You'll need to place three iron blocks in the top three squares of the square, followed by four iron ingots in the bottom three squares, plus one in ??the center.

The image below shows the exact recipe for an a??nvil with all three iron blocks and four iron ingots in place.

Iron is a pretty common material compared to gold, lapis, or diamonds, as you can find it using multiple methods. The main ways are by digging underground, looting it in chests, or killing iron golems. The main challenge is obtaining enough over 30, but it shouldn't take too long, even if you're jus??t starting out.

If you're already la?te into your playthrough and don't mind some exploring, you can find iron ingots in treasures chests within dungeons, mineshafts, End Cities, and Strongholds, among other structure types. Bastion Remnants i?n the Nether can even spawn blocks of iron, so it's worth looking around for those if you want to get away from cave-diving for a while.

How to use an Anvil in Minecraft

Anvils in Minecraft have three main purposes:

• Add and combine enchantments
• Rename an item
• Repair an item

Their first use is combining enchantments between multiple objects. While enchanting tables add an enchant to one item, the anvil lets you combine two to strengthe?n their effects. For example, you can toss two Sharpness Four swords into an anvil to turn it into a Sharpness Five weapon.

Another use is renaming any item in the game. You can use this on any item in Minecraft, from tools to food or even other blocks. This feature has multiple uses in c??ustom minigames or maps, but I usually use it t?o give my weapons fun names.

The last feature is repairing your gear. You can do this by either combining two of the same item or a tool plus its main crafting component. In other words, using two diamond shovels with low durability in an anvil combines them and restores some o?f their durability, with a shovel and one diamond having a similar effect.

Minecraft developer Mojang and MOD Entertainment revealed the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue in early 2024. The one-hour-long real-world activity had to be delayed, but now it's coming up for its Dal??las launch on October 18, 2024, and all attendees? can get their hands on an exclusive reward.

Anyone who buys a ticket and plays the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue will receive an exclusive in-game cape for Minecraft that's half-villager, half-zombie. It looks pretty great and acts as a nice bonus that'll help the event last even longer in your mind when you see it each time you log in. You don't even need to visit Dallas just to get the cape because the entir?e thing is going on tour, meaning there's a good chance it'll turn up near you in the future.

Now that's a nice cape

In the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue, iconic locations and creatures fro?m the game are brought to life. You start in the forest, where you'll learn the ropes of how mechanics in this experience function. From there, you'll enter the village, where you'll pick up y?our quest and team up with other real players to complete your task. I'm going to go ahead and guess, given the experience's name, that you'll be rescuing a Villager.

There will be multiple biomes to explore and creatures to meet along the way. While you can gush over the dolphins, sheep, and pigs, the skeletons and spiders aren't so friendly. Luckily, the experience has ev??erything you'll be used to from the game, so you'll be able to fend off any mobs.

The most interesting thing about the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue is the Orb of Interaction. This is an object you hold and take with you throughout the story to interact with objects, enemies, and every biome as you would in the game. It's got some sort of haptic feedback built in, so I imagine it vibrates in specific ways for each type of interaction, but it should also change? color depending on what you're doing.

Considering you can build an entire universe in Minecraft if you work hard enough, a 1-hour experience sounds a little small. However, you do get to chill out in the Trading Post with a?? memento afterward, so you might be able to make an entire morning or afternoon out ??of it if you want.

Of course, the long-lasting reward from the experience is going to be that in-game cape. Given that you can only get it from this touring physical event, I can see it being pretty rare and desirable. Between this and the fact that you can keep the whole experience to an hour if you don't want to spend an entire day on it, I think the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue could be pretty popular, especially with fans who aren't excited for the movie.

For the past few years, video game adaptations have had a pretty solid run. The Last of Us made waves on television, The Super Mario Bros. Movie redeemed itself decades after its abysmal 1993 predecessor, and the Sonic the Hedgehog series has thrived on screens big and small. Unfortunately, not all of these attempts can be success stories, and it seems like the upcoming Minecraft movie, simply called A Minecraft Movie, will take movie goers? back to a time not so long ago. A time when adapting gaming favorites to the big screen was something that Hollywood just could??n't quite figure out.

At the time of this writing, the Minecraft trailer has been out for a minute, allowing those on the internet to collect themselves, take a deep breath, and let the minds behind it know just how much they dislike it. From the live-action elements to the dialogue to the bizarre casting of Jack Black as Steve, there ??have been loads of critiques levied against this film that won't even hit the cinema until next year. For as much of a misfire as it might seem, at least some surface level attempts were made to resemble the iconic source material. By that, I mean the trailer is full of mobs.

Strange live-action characters aside, the inaugural Minecraft trailer showcases a few hyper-realistic animals, monsters, and creatures that have roamed t?o the games landscapes for ages. Here are all the ones included in some form or another throughout.

Sheep

As our human cast enters the world of Minecraft, they have a lot to take in. Everything is suddenly blocky, vibrant in color, and very much resembles a warped version of the world they know. Of course, that's just talking about the angular clouds and brick-like ground. Then they come across their first living creature in this odd new world, that being a pink sheep, which bleats in their direction with its opposite-facing eyes, uncanny body propor??tions, and enlarged teeth.

If you've played Minecraft at virtually any point since its 2009 introduction, odds are you've stumbled across the odd sheep. These docile farm animals have been an integral part of the game's DNA nearly since the day it launched. They come in a variety of colors, supply wool to help make vital items like beds, and they can be used as a food source, commonly dropping raw mutton when killed. Hopefully, for the sake of the kids in the audience, A Minecraft Movie won't depict such a scene.

Piglin

Stepping into the world of Minecraft is daunting for the movie's human characters. Though we don't know the circumstances of their arrival yet, their bewilderment and the twinge of fear in their eyes once they arrive indicates they have no reason nor desire to be there. Making the situation worse, they're quickly shown how hostile t??his place can be as a group of Piglin arrive with likely evil intentions in their minds, armor on their bodies, and weapons of all kinds in hand.

Not to be confused with pigs or Zombie Pigmen, Piglin are bipedal, human-like pig creatures found in the Nether. Though they're typically pretty neutral in-game, they're often found holding weapons, and they'r??e not afraid to use them if provoked. They can also be found in another variety, the Piglin Brute. Not only are these Piglin far stronger than their contemporaries, but they're considerably more hostile. Based ?on the trailer, it seems that the filmmakers are electing to make all Piglin generic evil henchmen.

Ghast

Not only do the Piglin feature pretty prevalently in the first Minecraft trailer, but there are some anomalies about them that fans couldn't help but notice. As mentioned, all varieties seem equally disgruntled and dangerous, but going a bit further, they're shown to be traveling outside the Nether for an unknown reason. What's more, they're shown attacking by air via makeshift hot? air balloons. Only, there aren't any balloons involved, but rather Ghasts.

Much like the Piglin, Ghasts are residents of the Nether, and like most things there, these creatures are not very nice. They have no qualms about attacking with fireballs, and the fact that they fly can make them a difficult enemy to retaliate against. Strangely, in the film, they seem to be depicted as large, fleshy, jellyfish-like creatures, where in the game, it has been established that they are actually a form of ghost. This change was likely made so they could be used to carry the Piglin around, which is also something not present in Minecraft without mods.

Wolf

It's no shock that the Minecraft trailer doesn't shy away from showing off the game's arguable most beloved neutral mob. In a brief clip, a rectangular dog creature is shown from a side profile howling at the moon. As anyone could likely guess, this is a wolf. They have been a part of the game since 2011, and in that time, they have become adored by Minecraft players everywhere. Why? It'??s simple, because who doesn't want a ??dog at their side as they explore the unexplored?

Sadly, for those hoping to see more out of wolves in the Minecraft trailer, all we receive is the small snippet confirming that they are in fact in the film. One has to imagine that the feature will include them prominently, possibly with one of the live-action characters domesticating one during their perilous journey. We can only hope that the movie version of the Minecraft wolf doesn't turn out as uncanny as ?the Sheep appears to have.

Creeper

When you think of Minecraft, a few associated mental images likely spring to mind. Steve, of course, maybe a pickaxe of some kind, or, if you're of a certain age and have spent a certain amount of time on the Internet, some problematic YouTube stars. In truth, I think we all know that there is one singular image that has come to define Minecraft more?? so than any other. That is the green frowning face of the games most famous enemy, the Creeper.

There's truly no denying the Creeper's place in Minecraft lore. The explosive mob has been the bane of gamers' existence since the game's first year, ruining homes, farms, mines, and so much more with a brief hiss and a boom. The Minecraft trailer simply wouldn't have been complete without the appearance of one, and it delivered. For a b??rief moment, we see a very fuzzy-looking Creeper, well, creep up behind Jason Momoa's character in the middle of the night, likely intending to do what it does best based on Momoa's terrified expression.

Llama

Toward the end of the Minecraft trailer, we get the big reveal that Jack Black is indeed Steve, blue t-shirt and all. While this may seem like a good point to end the trailer on, those who put it together opted for a different stinger. It focuses on a llama?? chewing on some grass when an arrow flies out of the sky and sticks into the ground next to it, with a crowd of Piglin then running past. The animal stands there in shock and stops chewing before going back to its meal.

Similarly to sheep, llamas don't really do a whole lot in Minecraft. They stand around, chew on grass, and are occasionally found on leashes alongside Wandering Traders or grazing freely with a handful ??of other llamas. If you're interested, and feel particularly motivated to do so, you can actually domesticate llamas. All you have to do is continually attempt to ride them and be bucked off until they let you stay on. Surely this mechanic won't be a source of comedy in the movie.

Enderman...maybe?

For the most part, we get a decent look at all of the aforementioned mobs in the Minecraft trailer. Some of them don't get a lot of time to shine, nor are their designs fully revealed, but they still get even the briefest spotlight. Meanwhile, there's potentially one more iconic mob hiding in the Minecraft teaser. At the center of the frame, way in the background of the shot with all of the Piglin together in the N?ether, there's a foreboding set of what could be purple eyes.

While this could be a trick of the lights and it's merely just another Piglin, it could be an Enderman. These unsettling mobs are defined by their long, slender silhouette, magical aura, and purple eyes. They've been a part of Minecraft for years, walking around ominously picking up blocks, and viciously attacking those who provoke them by hitting them or staring them directly in the face. They are known to appear in the Nether, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that one does appear in the Minecraft trailer way in the background.

Odds are we've only seen but a small sampling of the mobs A Minecraft Movie has to offer so far. We'll have to see which others made the cut, and if the whole production is?? as rough as th??e trailer makes it seem, when the movie arrives on April 4, 2025.

Developer Mojang Studios has outlined how work on future updates and features for Minecraft will change. These changes will result in more regular updates of varying sizes and a renewed focus on keep?ing in touch with the community through Minecraft Live.

In the past, Mojang has held one Minecraft Live per year and released a big update for Minecraft each summer. Each one is usually sizeable and brings with it dozens of new interactions and possibilities for every player's world. That's now changing so players get more updates each year and two Minecraft Lives so they can keep up to date with what the development team is working on and see? more of the be??hind-the-scenes work.

More Minecraft

As stated by Mojang in its recent blog post, the biggest change to how Minecraft'?s updates will work is that there will be more of them. Instead, there will now be a few free updates each year, but they'll vary in size compared to the enormous updates we've grown used to. I think this will ultimately feel better for both players and the developm?ent team, with each update being more focused and delivering specific activities, items, animals, and whatever else Mojang is cooking up.

There will now also be two Minecraft Live showcases each year instead of just one. This will keep players informed about what's on the way in future updates and give Mojang a chance to connect with the community more and see feedback for each planned update.

I believe this will help refine each new feature more efficiently because feedback for one part of a much larger update slows e?veryone down, whereas feedback for a small update s?lows only those working on that specific update down.

While the Minecraft Movie is not mentioned in the blog post, the team is working hard to release a native version of Minecraft for PS5. I don't know how much better it'll look on PS5 Pro, but having a native version for the pl?atform will allow more fans to play together where they want to. I'm also excited about the new set of trophies to chase.

I've watched Minecraft grow from a Java game that you needed to be a member of a forum to access into the fantastic open-world sandbox for survival, crafting, modding, and having fun with your friends it is today. ?It has felt like the growth it once knew had stagnated in recent years, though. Hopefully, this renewed vision for updates brings back that exciting sense of momentum.

The trailer for the Minecraft movie adaptation starring Jason Momoa and Jack Black released ??a few days ago to a divided reception.

On the one hand, the hundreds of millions of Minecraft fans out there are happy to see the game come to the big screen. On the other, some of it looks weird, as in original Sonic The Hedgehog trailer and Detective Pikachu's Mr. Mime weird. You need not worry, though, as 3D animator A??lumio seemingly pu??lled three all-nighters to deliver a shot by shot animated remake of the trailer, and it looks just absolutely stunning.

Adapting a video game to the big screen, especially one so heavily stylized, can be no easy task. The most successful example from recent times is the Mario movie. It just took the safest-possible route of using a Mario model that could easily have been in Super Mario Odyssey, and put him in a world heavily ins??pired by the game's levels. It made over a billion coins in real money.

A similar, though not video game-related, adaptation was The Lego Movie. Filmmakers Lord and Miller decided to go with just animating actual Lego models instead of using weird make-up to make Chris Pratt look like a Leg??o figure, and the result was an astounding success.

Meanwhile, the Minecraft looks like (a very heavily shaded version of) Minecraft, sure, but the studio or director Jared Hess seemingly just kidnapped the most primordial version of Jack Black from his bed and put him in front of a green screen. The result is a trailer that looks just plain baffling in some parts, decent in others, but that never escap??es feeling like a product that's just using the star power of a few well-liked folk to sell more tickets.

The pink sheep we see in the original trailer was likely the non-star related shot that the people behind the movie would become really popular, but I can't even conceive in my mind the idea of ??a person who lik??ed that. Alumio's version, however, is very cute.

??It's simple, but there's a complete lack of g??rotesqueness that I can't help but to enjoy.

It's probably also interesting to note that, a mere six hours after the release of his version of the trailer, Alumio's version had alread?y garnered more likes on Twitter than the official one.

I don't want to overwork Alumio, so this is not a challenge, but I'd love to see his remake of the whole movie - should it fail only because of its wacky looks. The official version of the Minecraft movie opens on April 4, 2025.

It's been a few years since we heard about the makings of a Minecraft movie, bringing the beloved Overworld to life in an entirely new way. ?Now, it's finally coming to fruition with its first-ever teaser and a release date set for April 4, 2025.

The trailer begins with the misfit ensemble, including Jason Momoa as Garrett "The Garbage Man" Garrison, Danielle Brooks as Dawn, Sebastian Eugene Hansen as Henry, and Emma Myers as Natalie. As an avid Minecraft player, it's interesting to see this live-action cast mixed in with a CGI world, almost reminding me of the film Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Although it may be different from what I expected, it still holds true to Minecraft with its silliness, creativity, and its immersiv?e cubic ??world.

You'll see iconic mobs from the Overworld, like the wolf, Piglins, and sheep. And, of course, we can't forget about our main man, Steve, played by another living legend, Jack Black. The group encounters Steve when they are mysteriously transported to this blocky universe, a??nd it's up to them to figure out a way bac??k home. Like the games, they'll need to do some good 'ole crafting and fight off hostile mobs to survive.

The Minecraft Movie, despite its battles and challenges, maintains the whimsical charm of Mojang Studios. This is evident from the teaser's unexpected opening line, 'What the hell?' after Dawn encounters a cu?bic sheep. I never thought the film would ever start with such a phrase, but you know what? I would probably say the same exact thing.

While it's intriguing to see the Minecraft Movie go in this direction, it's not too surprising, given that Jared Hess is the film's director. You may have already seen his work, such as Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre, and Ninety-Five Senses.

If you are digging to get into this new Overworld, get ready for Minecraft Movie's release on April 25, 2025. There's also a Netflix animated show on ??its way, expanding the universe even further.

If you aren't familiar with the Bundles, they are essentially little backpacks you can place in your inventory. So, instead of having items overload your storage, you can put them in these rucksacks to better organize your materials. Crafting a Bundle is pretty easy since it only requires two materials: string and leather.

While string can be obtained from spiders, leather materials drop from fallen cows, donkeys, horses, llamas, and more. Sorry to those who are peaceful Minecraft players, as you'll have to do some killing to get these much-needed re?sources?.

We'll help you along this journey by showing you where to find the Mystery Cave and solve all its puzzles in the MCC x Minecraft 15th Anniversary Party.

Where to find Mystery Cave in Minecraft MCC Party 2024

To find the Mystery Cave in Minecraft's MCC Party event, head to the right of ???Grid Runners to notice a tall mountain. It'll be right above the Toy Store destination.

Look for a watery area and go inside it t??o transport yourself to the Mystery Cave entrance. Then, go deeper inside the cave to uncover painting clues. Seven paintings will be unlocked throughout the event, and you can speak to the NPC Puzzle Solver at the Mystery Cave for more information.

Puzzles will unlock daily for the first seven days of the Minecraft MCC Party event. Make sure to ??return to the Mystery Cave daily to solve all paintings. If you miss out on a challenge, don't worry; an extra second week will be available for those who need to catch up.

All Mystery Cave puzzle solutions in Minecraft MCC Party 2024

For a quick overview of all Mystery Cave puzzle solutions in Minecraft, here's what you can expect:

Puzzle 1

The first Minecraft Mystery Cave challenge presents a hand waving with a crown symbol. You can solve this by returning to the main lobby (use the Teleport Map to get there faster). Players must then step on top of th??e crown platform near the characters Jens and Agnes. Lastly, use the Waving emote to complete the challenge.

PC users can hit B to open Emotes, while console players can p??ress left on their controller's directional pad. The Emote must be performed on top of the crown, or else it won't count toward the challenge.

Puzzle 2

For Puzzle 2, you'll need to purchase a Party Popper with 40 coins from the Toy vendor. Remember, this shop is located below the Mystery Cave, with the cart sign. Once you've collected the item, go to the Sands of Time mini-game. Look t?o the left to spot a head structure with yellow eyes.

Once you're near the head with yellow eyes, go toward the left side for your next target. You'll need to jump on the wooden platform to reach the head with blue eyes, the structure that matches the painting. Travel there and use the Party?? Popper in front of it to complete the second Mystery Cave puzzle.

Puzzle 3

Puzzle 3 features a duck with a crown painting, which ties into the same structure near the Sands of Time.?? Go on top of the rainbow b?ridge to spot it.

Swim towards its beak and look around for a trapdoor. You can open it by going on top of ??the pressure plate ??nearby (marked with an arrow).

After you've gone through the trapdoor, you'll need to travel deeper inside the hidden location. The goal here is to keep going up. So, if you see a raised platform, jump on top of it to reach the next area. Eventually, players will encounter a watery End Portal. Go through it to solve Puzzle 3 in Minecraft's Mystery Cave challenge.

Puzzle 4

Similar to the second puzzle, you must get an item from the Toy store for t?he fourth challenge. Obtain?? the Disco Ball for 60 coins and make your way to the Grid Runners minigame. Once there, go to the right side and keep heading down this pathway (toward the left):

Travel all the way down to the Copy?? the Paintin?g section. At this point, you can take the stairs by the presents.

Go up to the highest floor and take a right to enter a roo?m filled with characters. This area will be just above the big presents. You'll be looking for a character with star glasses. Use the Disco Ball in front of them to complete the next Mystery Cave puzzle.

Puzzle 5

You'll need to buy a Cake Slice for 20 coins at the Food vendor for the following puzzle. This area will be un??der the giant chicken statue, in between Sands of Time and Ace Race. Next, travel to the Meltdown minigame and go to the 'Join Queue' controller. From there, you must travel through a nearby doorway on the right.

Take a?? left and head up the stairs to t?he following room:

Continue up this pathway and head towards the left side to spot an opening with yellow and black markings. Use the white platforms (marked with the arrow) to reach?? it. 

Once inside, look to the right to lo?cate a ladder to the upper floor. Hop up the boxes to get to it. Now ??it's time to jump to the umbrella to get through an opening at a gate. 

At the following destination, go on top of the crates to reach the L-shaped platf??orm. Then, jump over another gate.

Jump se??veral more times to reach the long metal beam (star symbol). By the end of it, hop on the diamond stairs. 

Now, you'll be able to reach the higher beam, taking?? you over to the other side. 

Players will see a helipad from this point, where you'll finally get to solve Mystery Cave Puzzle 5 in Minecraft. 

Parkour yo?ur way over there and stand on top of the helipad. Consume the Cake Slice to solve the puzzle. 

Puzzle 6

One of the last Mystery Cave puzzles mandates you to get the Birthday Firewo?rks. Acquire it from the Toy vendor for 40 coins. Afterward, go to the entrance of the Mystery Cave and travel to the side of the mountain.

Players must reach the top of the mountain by jumping up the various blocks. At the peak, you'll need to use ??the Birthday Fireworks to solve the puzzle. 

Puzzle 7

With the final Mystery Cave puzzle, players must equip the Clapping emote, similar to what they've done with the first challenge. Now, go to the Ace Race and begin the mini-game like you normally would. You'll need to stop aro?und the castle, where there will be a brown doorway. Perform the Clapping emote in front of it, opening it in the process.

On??ce inside, reach the top of the castle until you encounter a frog. Interact with?? it and select "Kiss the Frog."

You'll now earn the MCC Character Creator Item, thus completing all puzzles in Minecraft's Mystery Cave.

Finally, Mending and Unbreaking allow the Mace to be sustained indefinitely meaning you won't need to get another one any time soon.

It's important to note that there's one other enchantment that's incredible for PvP players, that being Breach. This reduces how effective that target's armor is, meaning you can make Protection IV Netherite armor have the same ef?fectiveness as Protection IV Leather armor, roughly speaking. That's a huge difference, and combined with Wind Burst means you'll be dealing consistent and high damage, draining your opponent's resources.

In total, the Mace has nine enchantments that you can get. ??These include some of the classic enchantments on almost all tools but includes a few unique ones as well. The enchantments can be found below:

When it comes to some of the unique enchantments, the effectiveness of said enchantments is as?? follows:

• Breach reduces the armor effectiveness by 15% per level, up to 60%.
• Density increases the damage by 0.5 per fallen block for each level, up to 2.5 increased damage per fallen block.
• Wind Burst sends the attacker into the air by seven blocks per level, up to 21 blocks in height. However, you will also lose the fall damage protection from getting a normal hit. Feather Falling is heavily recommended.

Minecraft MCC Party 2024 Sands of Time Challenge guide

You can successfully escape the Sands of Time mini-game using the Nether Portal by the entrance. This portal is the only way out, as the map doesn't seem to have an?y hidden exit points.

Players must survive for two minutes to complete the Sands of Time Challenge in the Minecraft MCC Party event. Stick around the entry area so you don't stray too far from the porta??l. It may also be best to pick up some time boosts since you'll initially start ?with two minutes. I suggest reaching the required duration with at least a few seconds to spare, giving you enough time to escape.

If you happen to get lost, use the portal signs to guide you back to the entrance. Fortunately, you'll have plenty of time boosts on these pathways to increase your duration. ??Remember to grab some coins, t?oo, which can be exchanged for rewards later on.

Once you use the portal to get out, the game should notify you of your successful escape. Those who don't utilize this route will see a significant de??crease in coins as a penalty for their failed att??empt.

Players can find Minecraft's Lost Pearl toward the end of the Grid Runners mini-game. It will be accessible after the third stage, where you should see a few pools of water. Before reaching the finishing line, look to the left to grab the Lost Pearl (inside a bubble). You must also have the Aqua Axolotl Beanie equipped since you won't be able to pick it up without it.

The Aqua Axolotls Beanie can be purchased at the Mascot ??Hat store?, which is between Meltdown and Sands of Time. The headwear costs 250 coins, so just play a few mini-games to earn enough currency.

It should be noted th??at players may have some issues loading into the Grid Runners challenge. I initially had problems teleporting into the server, which can take some time to load. Thus, if things take too long, I suggest hopping out of this mini-game and starting the queue up again until you've been teleported into a smaller room.

Once you've collected the Lost Pearl in Minecraft, you'll earn the Aqua Axolotl Head Character Creator Item. Equip it to transform your character's head into an Axolotl. What is Efficiency in Minecraft?

Efficiency increases the speed of your tool, making it easier to farm items. You can use it with the following gear in Minecraft:

• Shovel
• Pickaxe
• Shears
• Axe
• Hoe

The enchantment features five levels, with the fifth being the most powerful and fastest. A standard tool without the ability can be relatively slow when mining blocks. So, if farming is takin??g too much of your time, use this enchantment to quicken the pace.

How to get the Minecraft Efficiency enchantment

You can unlock Efficiency in Minecraft with an enchantment table or book. If you don't have the table, here's the recipe:

• 1 Book
• 2 Diamonds
• 4 Obsidians

Once you've crafted this object, place your desired tool to see what level of Efficiency you've unlocked. Players must consider the materials they use, as some ores won't allow them to obtain Level 5. Specifically, stone and? diamond can only reach Level 4 with the enchantment table.

Reaching Level 5 with these resources is still possible, but you must use an anvil instead. This route requires players to c?ombine two Level 4 tools with the anvil to produce a stone or diamond with a Level 5 Efficiency. You may also unlock this feature by using a book with an anvil.

Other materials like wood, gold, iron, and Netherite can go up to Level 5 with the enchantment table. However??, it's only ??sometimes guaranteed due to the table's random output.

In addition to this method, players can gain the ability by using a book and an anvil. Efficiency books can be found in multiple ways, including looting chests, fishing, and exchanging them with a Villager librarian. Then, place the tool and the book on the anvil to u?nlock the enchantment.

One of the things that makes Minecraft so popular and accessible is its many ports to multiple systems. It even made its way to ChromeOS and Apple TV. However, for? some reason, there's never been a native version of the game on PlayStation 5. Until now, that is.

As of yesterday, Mojang Studios has made its gaming behemoth Minecraft available on the console, although it is just a preview for now. In a recent post on the official website, the developer invites people to? check out the PS5 version, which you can access if you have it for PS4 by "navigating to 'Settings' and then 'Preview' within the game.?"

Quite why it's taken this long to roll out a current-gen version of it on the Sony system is not clear, but it’s here now, and you can enjoy all the same benefits as the Xbox Series port. Wel??l, almost all the benef?its.

What you can and can't do in the PS5 version of Minecraft

Even though it's just a preview so far, you'll still get access to Minecraft in its entirety. However, there are some things you wo?n't have until the final release. For example, Mojang says while there is multiplayer in the PS5 version, there's no cross-play, except with the PS4. Also, for obvious reasons, you can't play this port on previous-gen hardware.

However, you can cross-play if you use Realms �the subscription-based servers for Minecraft �which is available on the PlayStation 5 preview. But you don't have access to the Minecraft Store currently, though?? you will get the new "Tricky Trials Update??" with the download.

Essentially, this is a testing ground for running the game natively on the PS5, which is something the studio does quite often. As such, this particular build is likely to be "unstable" and "not representative of the final version quality." With these previews, players are encouraged to send feedback and submit bug reports to the developer. As for when the full version will be getting a release, there's no word on ?that yet.

Still pulling in millions of players after all this time, Minecraft recently celebrated its 15th birthday. I still remember the first time I played it, not long after it went into beta. Minecraft's Tricky Trials update brought the game's first new structure in a few updates, the Trial Chamber. This encounter provides a lot of mobs for you to defeat, but gifts you some sweet rewards like parts for the new Mace weapon. However, you might be wondering just what you can get from its Vaults. Here are all drops from the Vault in Minecraft, including the Regular and Ominous Vaults.

The loot drop can not be Nothing on the first three sets of loot.

Where to find Ominous Bottle in Minecraft 1.21

Ominous bott??les are a drop from pillager raid captains. They often spawn at pillager outposts, appear in village raids, and lead rare patrol encounters. Generally speaking, the best way to look for raid capta?ins is to search for outposts, defeat any you see, and wait for them to respawn.

Alternatively, you can find Ominous bottles in Trial Chamber vaults. Although uncommon, they can oc?casionally spawn as a potential drop alongside items like diamonds, emeralds, enchanted books, and wind charges. While this isn't the most reliable way to ge??t them compared to farming raid captains, you can find an unexpected bottle here and there if you open a lot of vaults.

What is an Ominous Bottle in Minecraft?

Drinking an Ominous bottle grants you the Bad Om?en effect, leading to a village raid or an Ominous trial. Walking into a village with the Bad Omen potion effect actively changes it to the Raid Omen effect, immediately beginning a raid where villagers will invade the area and attack anyone nearby. Similarly, entering a Trial Chamber room with Bad Omen active changes it to the Trial Omen effect, turning your current trial room into an Ominous trial chamber.

There are pros and cons to both situations. If you successfully defend a village against a raid, nearby villagers can gift you items as a thank you. Likewise, defeating an Ominous trial chamber gives you the chance to receive Ominous trial keys to open their respective vaults. These vaults typically give more valuable rewards than their regular counterparts, with a low chance of rewarding a heavy core for you to craft a mace.

Where to find a Heavy Core in Minecraft 1.21 update

Heavy cores spawn exclusively in Ominous Vaults within the Trial Chambers. While you'll usually f?ind regular vaults around the chambers, you'll occasionally spot Ominous versions after completing particularly challenging rooms. These vaults are the ones you're looking for, as these ha??ve a slight chance of dropping heavy cores. Most Trial Chambers have several Ominous Vaults available, giving you several opportunities to find one potentially.

When yo??u obtain a key and open a vault, you'll typically get a small assortment of items ranging from emeralds and diamonds to enchanted gear. However, while Ominous Vaults are similar in appearance and interactions, their loot i??s far more valuable, with heavy cores being one of their potential drops.

Even with this in mind, heavy cores are a rare drop from Ominous Vaults with a very small chance of appearing. In other words, don't be too surprised if you don't find it right a??way, as you'll likely have to open several Ominous Vaults to obtain one. Depending on your ?luck, you may even have to explore multiple Trial Chambers.

Alongside heavy cores, you can also get diamond block?s, wind charges, and enchanted golden apples, among other items. You can also?? frequently find enchanted books, which can give you valuable enchantments if you're lucky.

How to use Heavy Core in Minecraft

Heavy cores are an item you need to craft a mace. Alongside the heavy core, you also need a Breeze ??Rod, which you get from the Breeze enemies within Trial Chambers. Fortunately, you'll likely encounter several Breezes while exploring the chambers and obtaining your heavy core.

From here, you can use your mace as?-is or enchant it. You can also use Breach and Density as mace-exclusive enchantments besides usual enchantments like Fire Aspect, Unbreaking, and Mending. Breach reduces the effectiveness of your enemy's armor, while Density increases the damage you inflict from falling attacks.

A new tool was recently added to Minecraft, called the Brush. The Brush is primarily used for the new Archaeology gameplay mechanic that allows players to find historical items and artifacts. After being revamped with the 1.20 Trails and Tales update, it's now more important than ever to have a Brush. Here is how to craft a Brush in Minecraft as well as what you can do with it.

How to craft a Brush

The Minecraft Brush tool can be crafted at the Crafting Table with three easy-to-obtain materials: 1 Feather, 1 Copper Ingot, and 1 Stick.? You can get the Feather by slaying any avian mob like the Chicken, a Stick can be easily gotten by punching or chopping down a tree, and a Copper Ingot is obtained by smelting 1 Copper Ore in a Furnace.

Once you have all three materials, you want to put them all vertically in the middle column of the Crafting Table with the Feather at the top, Copper Ingot in the middle, and Stick at the ?bottom, as referenced in the image above.

You can also combine two Brushes together to create a new Brush that has the durability of the two Brushes combined plus 5%. So if you have two Brushes at 10% each, and combine them to make a new Brush, tha??t new Brush will have 25% durability.

While crafti??ng, a Brush c??an have the following Enchantments:

• Curse of Vanishing (Level 1 Max)
• Mending (Level 1 Max)
• Unbreaking (Level 3 Max)

How to use the Brush in Minecraft

Once you've crafted a Brush, you have two potential uses for it. The first is to use the Bruch for archaeological digging. Search your Minecraft world for Suspicious Blocks which allow you to brush on them. Holding down the Use key on the Brush will display an animation of you brushing off the block, with random particles flying off it. Eventually, a random item will come from the S?uspicious Block and then it will turn into Sand or Gravel. It takes 4.8 seconds of brushing to excavate the block.

The other use for a Brush is to create an Armadillo Scute by brushing an Armadillo. To do this, find an Armadillo in the wild and begin brushing it. It will take several seconds, and take 13 Durability from your Brush.?? However, once completed, it will drop an Armadillo Scute which can be used to craft Wolf Armor that will give your Wolves more tankiness. You can also use the Armadillo Scutes to repair existing Wolf Armor.

Minecraft's 1.21 update introduced the mace, a melee weapon that gets its uniqueness ??from damage that directly scales with fall damage. Not only can you use it to eliminate fall damage altogether in some cases, but using encha?ntments like Breach lets you shred through some of the game's toughest enemies.

How to get the Breach Enchantment in Minecraft

You can find the Breach enchantment in an enchanted book or through an enchanting table. However, since it's a mace-exclusive enchantment, you'll have to use your mace in your enchanting table for a chance to find it. You can also randomly find it in enchanting books within underground structures or villager trading, but the odds are lo?w compared to more common enchantments like unbreaking, protection, and sharpness.

Just be careful, as you're not guaranteed to find it right away while enchanting, especially if you have a low-level enchanting table. You're much more likely to find it with level 30 enchantments, but you can encounter level one and two?? versions of Breach at lower levels.

Make sure you're not applying the density enchantment instead by hovering over your enchant options. It's impossible to get Breach on a mace that already has smite, bane of arthropods, or density enchantments in vanilla Minecraft, making this a great way to tell whether ?your next enchantment will have Breach at all. While you can use console commands to apply them all, ?you won't be able to use them all together in a regular game.

In short, if your mace already has one of these three enchantments, you'll have to creat?e a new mace or remove the enchantments to use Breach. Similarly, if you hover over an enchantment and see density appear, you'll know you won't get the Breach enchantment and will have to try again with a new set of enchants.

How the Breach Enchantment works in Minecraft

Breach is a mace enchantmen??t that reduces armor's effectiveness, making enemies and other players less tanky. There are four enchantment levels, with the lowest decreasing armor effectiveness by 15 percent and the highest, level four, reducing it by 60 percent. While its power isn't too noticeable w??ith regular leather armor, having diamond or netherite armor with protection IV is where its strength truly shines.

This effect also impacts natural armor that creatures like zombies, s?hulkers, and even the Wither boss have. If you're fighting against any of these enemies, you'll have a much easier time fighting them than with a regular sword, even if it has sharpness or other damage enchantments. However, it won't make much difference against enemies like spiders or creepers with no armor buffs.
