Giant enemy crabs! Giant puffer fish lizards!

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (4G in Japan) is on its way over here in "early 2015," and you can get a glimpse of what's to come in a new video straight from Capcom. At first the trailer starts off all serious, with high stakes fights against tons of giant creatures the series ??is known for, but then it gets all heroic-like with triumphant music and goofy elements like giant cannons.

Of course, it tops things off with a dragon fight. While I tend to skip around when it comes to Monster Hunter ?rel?eases, I'm keen on picking up the localized 3DS iteration as soon as it hits.

Mario and Luigi Felyne need their own game

Monster Hunter 4 has sold incredibly well. This pleases Nintendo and thus there is a pretty Monster Hunter 4 3DS. But, hey, why stop there?

Starting December 2 and shimmying on into January of the new year, Monster Hunter 4 fans (in Japan) will be able to get The Legend of Zelda's Link's trappings and accoutrements. Along with Link's tunic comes the Hylian Shield and ??Master Sword. Ranged fighters ?get the slightly less iconic bow and arrow. These costumes can be obtained at 7-Eleven.

Of course, this is arguably less cute than the Felyne dressed up as Mario and Luigi (available until November 11). Holy smokes. So cute! Still, I'm sure Zelda fans are digging the threads and killing tools.

I'm sure a lot of? you wo?uld be, too, if the game was released in your homelands.

The Monster Hunter has become the monster hunted...

What with its 2.5 million and climbing sales, Monster Hunter 4 is showing no signs of slowing down. Not many signs of releasing outside of Japan, either. But for fans in Japan, or intrepid importers, here's a cool thing: a cyan 3DS.

The Monster Hunter 4 branded system is coming out November 7 at 19,800 yen (roughly $200). It comes with a Monster Hunter 4 download and a 4gb memory card. It also?? maintains its cyan coloring on most of?? the system's inside, down to the buttons and d-pad.

Hopefully we'l??l be cyan' this stateside one day so?on.

In Japan

Monster Hunter 4 will not be stopped. It rode a 140,000 sales week to remain at the top of the software sales charts in Japan. Looking up at it was Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate at just under 25,000. This marks the fourth week Capcom's juggernaut has topped the charts and puts its sales in Japan over 2?.5 million.

You'll remember, Monster Hunter 4 did 1.71 million retail copies sold its first week of release, already then almost outselling the PlayStation Vita. The console. Monster Hunter 4 is encroaching on all Vita lifetime retail software sales. The series on the 3DS, including Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, h?as already eclipsed lifetime Vita software sales at retail.

Crazy. How badly do you want Monster Hunter 4 to be released outside of Japan?

I want to meet 'Cat Granny'

Siliconera has some new screenshots and information on the upcoming Monster Hunter 4, and it looks impossibly cute. Chico Village is one of the major hubs, headed up by an elderly female villag?er who lives amongst the Felynes -- she??, of course, is called none other than "Cat Granny." Amazing!

But the feline madness doesn't stop there, as this time around you'll be able to equip your Felyne companions with weapons, armor, and gear. You can also send off Felyne crew members on quests with varying rewards, as well as assi?s??t them in their quests with the touchscreen.

While Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate was a solid release, I'm really looking forward to jumping into all the new content and gameplay of Monster Hunter 4 eventually.

I want to live in this ice world

We now have some new screenshots of Monster Hunter 4, compliments of Capcom, and they show off a ??pretty cool looking ice world as well as two new monsters: Arselnus and Skuagil. I have a thing for frozen tundras, so I'm excited to explore the vast arctic regions of the game as I collect and forge endless amounts of loot.

Now, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is great, but I've played that game before -- twice. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Monster Hunter 4 can offer up, and if it will advance the series in any way. So far it's looking good.

Next week's Tokyo Game Show will be the first time gamers can get their hands on Monster Hunter 4. That's already huge for the show, and I expect the lines to be insane. But now there's a tease on an announcement of some 'surprising information' at one of the stage events. 

The stage event will have the game's development staff showing off MonHun4's new systems and actions, says Andriasang. And then somethi??ng else. Something amazing, Capcom says. Stay tuned, as we're currently packing for the flight to Tokyo. 

What could it be? Not a Vita port.
