My Time at Sandrock, the life-sim adventure game from Pathea, received an update on June 13 including some vital preparations for upcoming cross-platform multiplayer, which will arrive later in the Summer. But that’s n??ot all that ??was included in the patch.

While the patch mostly dealt with bug-fixes and balancing issues, there are some new and exciting things coming to Sandrock. The patch went live at 2:50 a.m. EST / 11:50 p.m. PST, so you’ll have fresh updates waiting for you if you’re just d??iving in to play.

Although there is no set date for the ??arrival of the cross-platform multiplayer feature as of yet, this update is setting the process in motion, meaning that players on all platforms will soon be able to link up and adventure t?ogether.

New additions

Included within the update are a host of new feat??ures and challenges, including:

  • Some new scene exploration missions, which reward special weapons “Solarflareâ€?and “Hand of the Lightâ€?/li>

  • New weapons added to the Civil Corps store and Armory
  • New monster called “Bellwing Sirenâ€?/li>

  • Cross-Platform Settings

Optimisation and bug fixes

While the list of fixes isn’t overly long, with the main focus of this update being on that all-important prep for cross-platform, so??me important fixes have been implemented:

  • Optimized how NPCs react to gifts
  • Optimised game memory usage, CPU time consumption and improved rendering in order to improve performance and visuals
  • Scarab Wings can now be acquired
  • Tourist NPC will no longer get stuck at Shonash Bridge
  • Flag will no longer disappear during “The Flying Daggersâ€?mission
  • Doors and stairs will no longer disappear when changing interior wallpaper or house style
  • Stairs can now be moved during home renovations
  • Mahjong mini-game will no longer get stuck due to AI calculation errors
  • NPCs will now follow players into the game center during dates
  • Players can now play Bubble Dragon during dates

This isn’t a full list of everything in the update, but I’ve included all of the important details that I can see. If you want to see everything, head over to the My Time at Sandrock Steam page.

My Time at Sandrock, the second addition to the My Time series and sequel to My Time at Portia, was initially released in November 2023 as a single-player farming game. While Portia remains a single-player game with no immediate plans for multiplayer support, the same can't be said for Sandrock, with the 2024 Triple-I Initiative revealing plans to introduce multiplayer and? cross-platform support this Summer.

As revealed during the Triple-I Initiative, My Time at Sandrock will feature?? co-op multiplayer and cross-platform capabilities on PC and consoles starting this summer. This update will allow you to play alongside others, even if they're on different platforms. The announcement video also highlighted multiplayer in action, with four players harvesting scrap piles, fighting enemies, and exploring hazardous ruin?s as a group.

My Time at Sandrock cross-platform and multiplayer news

There are no further details on an exact release date or the maximum number of people you can play with in one world. The showcase fea?tured three other players, suggesting the limit is four players in one playthrough. We can also anticipate the update launching sometime between June and September to fit the Summer release window.

It also doesn't seem that Sandrock's predecessor, My Time at Portia, will follow suit with having multiplayer support. This'll make Sandrock the first in the My Time? series t??o feature both single-player and multiplayer capabilities, with you having the choice of venturing out solo or farming, ruin-diving, and questing with others.
