Publishers 2K has already confirmed the release date of the new season as part of the latest game update. The date is also indicated by the ongoing Season 3 Pass and only a few?? more hours are left for you to complete it to get all the available rewards.

NBA 2K25 Season 4 release date

The official patch notes for update 4.0 confirmed the release date, and the new season will kick off on January 10. You'll be able to unlock a fresh set of rewards come Friday, and it could include some truly cracked items for you to enjoy. Season 4 will begin at 8 a.m. PT/11 a.m. ET, which is the standard for all prior s??easons.

This also means that you have little over two days, as of writing, to complete Season 3 pass. Chances are that you might have already unlocked all 40 levels of freebies, but if you haven't, now is the perfect time. Season 4's reward track will replace the Season 3 pass once we are past 8 a.m. PT on January 10.

The only concern is to get the? rewards before they expire, as the 12 Days of Giving event will be a time-limited campaign. Let's take a look at the first offering, which is now available for you to obtain.

How to get the 12 Days of Giving items in NBA 2K25

It seem?s that 2K is following the same tradition this year, and all the offerings will be in the form of codes. If you've redeemed codes in the past, you'll be well aware of how to do it. If you haven't here are the steps, and it's pretty simple. Before we begin, make sure that you're logged into your 2K account inside the game.

• Open your game and let it load.
• Go to the MyTeam option.

Developers Visual Concepts continue to fix critical issues in NBA 2K25, and Update 1.5 has been announced?? for the next-gen version of the game.

The upcoming patch, set to go live later today, on September 26, will be released on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. It's also going to be released later on Steam for PC users. Let's take a look at some of the bugs that ar??e being targeted by the upcoming update.

NBA 2K25 Update 1.5 patch notes

Like Update 1.3 and Update 1.4, the new patch doesn't have too many changes. That said, the changes listed on the official Discord do include fixes for some severe issues that user?s have reported in the recen??t past.

• Fixed a number of user-reported hang/stability issues when playing MyCareer or in the City.
• Fixed a hang that some users were reporting when loading into a MyCareer save.
• Fixed a user-reported issue that prevented advancement during offseason in MyCareer.
• Removed the 1.5x REP bonus that was erroneously attached to certain clothing items in MyCareer.
• Resolved an issue in MyTeam that allowed for players to be subbed at ineligible positions.

With the first two fixes, playing MyCareer should be a lot more stable. There have been incidents where NBA 2K25 had either hung or crashed when players logged in to the City. With the latest update, that issue should no longer exist. Simil??arly, a few items would often give the wrong REP bonus, which has now been removed as wel??l.

If you want to create your own versions of basketball history, NBA 2K25 lets you use custom squads of your liking.

There are already plenty of alternatives to try out if you want to avoid experiencing the Modern Era, which uses the official and updated NBA rosters. There are specific eras based around the champions of the games, including present-day icons like Stephen Curry. But if you still want something ??different, using? a custom squad will allow you to experience timelines that aren't available officially.

How to use custom rosters in NBA 2K25?

You can create custom rosters of your own by editing the default rosters. But you can't use them in modes like MyTeam or MyCareer. ?If you want to use ?custom squads outside exhibition matches, MyNBA eras are your best shot.

• Go to MyNBA eras
• Go to MyNBA. Do not go to MyGM by mistake.
• Choose the era you want. I prefer Modern Era, but this should be tuned to the custom file you want to use. Using a Modern Era custom squad with the Jordan Era will make very little sense.
• Make sure to turn on all the options in Setup Options, including Custom Squads. Then, proceed to the next step.
• Here, you'll be able to select the squad you want. There's the option to go with a user-created squad.

Being part of the same matc?hmaking pool has several benefits for starters - easier to find games, better competition, and the ability to play with your friends without bothering about your choice of console.

Things were working all right until Update 1.4 went l??ive today on September 13. Since then,? both Xbox and PlayStation users have had to withstand limited matchmaking, which shouldn't be the case in the first place. As of writing, crossplay remains down, and Visual Concepts has officially acknowledged the issue.

Why is NBA 2K25 crossplay down on current-gen consoles?

Update 1.4, launched as a next-gen exclusive update (2K calls the current-gen as next-gen), was rolled out for the consoles. Unfortunately, Xbox Series X|S users have been unable t??o download the latest update. The problem is still present for those trying to update, and Visual C?oncepts has even notified the community on the game's official Discord (available on the section of issues tracker).

On the blue side, PlayStation users have been able to download the latest update just fine. In fact, it automatically downloaded when I was playing a game, and a quick restart automatically activated the newest patch. You can check out the patch notes to find out all the changes that have been made, and it includes som??e vital bug fixes.

It's uncertain as to when Update 1.4 will become available for Xbox Series X|S users. Until it's available, matchmaking will continue to remain an i?ssue if you have enabled crossplay. For the time being, it's best to disable crossplay when you're trying to find a game. This will preven?t any further issues like server disconnection or laggy gameplay.

As of writing, Vi?sual Concepts hasn't announced the release schedule for Update 1.4 on PC.

NBA 2K25 is less than a week old, and developer Visual Concepts has pushed out Update 1.4 to sort out ??some?? of the pressing issues of the community.

While the launch has been relatively smooth, the feedback from the players has been mixed so far. While there are few bugs, some players haven't liked the changes made to the core gameplay, like the success of shots. Today's patch aims to fix some of those concerns, ??and it will be available on all platfor??ms (the PC launch date has yet to be announced).

Update 1.4 brings changes to several areas in NBA 2K25, starting?? with The City.

• Addressed a user-reported situation where players were prevented from being substituted when on extended hot streaks
• Fixed an issue that would cause the Takeover meter to drop down to Tier 1 if already at Tier 5 when Team Chemistry meter is filled.
• Arenas will now appear correctly when playing with All-Time teams at home in MyNBA.
• Expansion teams will now have proper floor when playing NBA Cup games in MyNBA.
• Fixed a user-reported disconnect that could occur at the start of the Showdown and Salary Cap games.
• Fixed an issue that prevented the "Sim to Next Appearance" option from activating as expected in MyCareer when playing on monitors with a particularly high refresh rate.
• Resolved an issue that could cause long hangs during the initial launch on sequence.
• Addressed user-reported framerate issues when playing games in Elite/Rise Beach courts.
• A number of fixes/improvements have been made to the Squad Finder features.
• The Shut It Down feature will now function as expected when playing Streetball Co-Op games.
• Resolved an exploit in The Track that allowed users to activate unrealistic times.
• Fixed a disconnect that could occur when playing games with NBA players in MyCourt.

One of the issues from here that I have encountered so far is the Takeover meter bug. I am g??lad that the problem caused by that particular bug has been fixed. Make sure to update your c??lient to the latest version before jumping in to enjoy Season 1.

Like all available transport equipment, the Go-Kart is mighty helpful when you're tra?veling from one corner of The City to the next. But that's not all, since you can participate in actual races and also earn a lot of VC for free. Let's take a look at the entire process of obtaining the kart at first and where you can trigger the race.

How to get the Go-Kart in NBA 2K25?

You can buy Go-Kart models inside MyCareer, but they cost a lot of VC. Moreover, I would definitely use my VC elsewher??e rather than get something that just saves a few seconds. However, this particular Go-Kart in discussion can be unlocked for free, and it has Gatorade livery all over it.

• Complete the NBA Debut quest. This is automatically completed after you speak with your coach following your first NBA game.
• Complete the Great Expectations and Heart of a Dynasty: Club Game quests. Both are part of the main questline but take more time than the NBA Debut quest.

Once all these three main quests are complete, you'll get a notification inside the game about the beginning of the Gatorade Go-Kart challenge. Track the quest, and you'll be guided to?? the racing compound (located in the building located to the immediate right of the Arena building).

How to earn free VC in NBA 2K25 using your Go-Kart?

First, getting the free Go-Kart saves you 100,000 VC (which is th??e cost of buying it separately). Every week, you'll get a racing quest where you'll need to finish the race within a time limit. If you manage to do that successfully, you'll win 2,500 VC. This is especially beneficial if you're just getting started with a new MyCareer build.

If you manage to be the fastest racer of the week, you'll end up winning 1 million VCs. Of?? course, the o??dds of that happening for most of us are next to none, but that's another potential way to earn a lot of VC. For me, the weekly income of 2,500 VCs is pretty nice.

After heading to Progression while in MyCarrer, selecting the Takeover tab, and picking your desired one, you can activate your Takeover ability in NBA 2K25 by filling its meter to level 5.

When in a game, you will be able to spot the meter at the top right of your screen —right above the chemistry bar�and fill?? it by excelling through well-performed defensive moves,? assists, dribbles, and by scoring in any way. Once you start leveling up your build, there will be plenty of signature styles to unlock from the in-game store. But you can only use one at a time (unlike jump shots, you can't merge two animations). Naturally, you'll want to use ones that definitely feel fast but offer security from steals. Best NBA 2K25 dribble styles for SG/PG

For SG/PG, you'll w??ant a dribble style that offers a quick transition from carrying to shots and speed on the ball. Kyrie Irving, by far, has the best style to pick, but he's extremely expensive to unlock. Here are some of the other more viab??le options to use:

• Stephen Curry: Not only does 'Chef Curry' have one of the best jump shot animations for guards, but his dribble animations feel incredibly smooth.
• Dejounte Murray: You need 86+ Speed with the Ball and a height under 6'10 to unlock - lower requirements but equally effective as Curry.
• Darius Garland: Similar to Murray, but you only need 85+ Speed with Ball.

Devin Booker and Jaylen Brown are two honorable mentions you can also consider. I don't like Browns transition from dribble to shot, but you might not have a problem with it. Booker is a good ?choice for starters as his animation package unlocks at 80+ Speed with Ball.

The effective choices for your Forwards might be more limited, but there are still some worthy contender?s.

• Dejounte Murray: Great for forwards who have high potential stats in Speed with Ball (as his height requirement covers that of SF/PF).
• Jaylen Green: The transition from dribble to shooting feels a lot better with forwards compared to guards.

Best NBA 2K25 dribble styles for C

The choices are minimal when it comes to Centers. This is along expected lines since most center builds will have low stat distribution in Speed with Ball. If you have 60 or more, you can? use the Zion Williamson dribble style. Not only does it feel smooth to use, but it's ?a great choice if you want to send the defense in the wrong direction.

Thanks to some changes to NBA 2K25's MyCa??reer mode, choosing your team is more important than ever as the pros are n??ow up for trade again. If you have played the previous NBA games, MyCareer allowed you to request a trade after the first season. Veteran fans may remember it as a handy feature for many reasons.

For in?stance, when you begin your MyCareer save, you usually pick a team where you have the best chance of becoming a starter. When things didn't go according to plan, a trade was beneficial. This year, however, the same privilege isn't available as of ?writing.

Will NBA 2K25 MyCareer mode get a trade request?

It's impossible to know what plans Visual Concepts and 2K have for the future regarding the ability to request a trade. I did check if you can request a trade after you complete your second season, and as per this video, you can't.

It's really a sad part bec?ause if the existing system remains intact, you can't change the squad team you choose. I definitely didn't know this information, and I went with the Bucks as my starter (because it's easy to establish yourself as a C). With Lillard and Antetokounmpo by my side, I am more than happy now.

However, some sides are a lot inferior when it comes to squad quality.? It might be challenging for some to win a ring if they choose a team like the Wizards, ??for example. With no possible way to change teams, the only alternative is to start an alternate build - this is really inefficient, especially if you have spent your VCs on the existing build.

How to influence trade in NBA 2K25 MyCareer

While you can't get yourself traded in MyCareer, you could still help in improving the squad over time. This is best done by unlocking the ability t?o influence trades. In simpler terms, you'll be able to request your GM to make possible moves for another athlete. But this feature needs to be unlocked first.

• Complete the 'NBA Debut' objective.
• Complete the 'Franchise Player: Become a Starter' objective. This objective requires about four games to finish, but it could take more in your case.
• Complete the 'Franchise Player: Earn Your Keep' objective. This objective usually takes about three games.
• Complete the 'Franchise Player: Trouble in Paradise' objective. This objective can have a different duration, as you need to complete any one of the three assigned tasks.
• Once finished, go to the MyCareer tab and then select Career Features.
• From there, you can view and select another athlete from a rival team, and your GM will try to request a trade.

Do note that not all trade requests are meant to be fulfilled. In fact, realistic trade proposals will have a?? greater chance of happening rather than asking your GM to bring Victor Wembanyama.

When playing any non-5v5 mode, that will then lead to guaranteed points. Performing it by mistake when playing on defense can also give a feeling that you are throwing the game.

VCs are the only way to grow your MyPlayer's attributes, but there are more aspects of making the best possible build. Let's take a look ?at all the key areas you'll n??eed to pay attention to grow fast.

• GOAT skills: You can assign two GOAT skills and trigger them during a game. GOAT skills are crucial when your overall is low. When activated, a GOAT skill boosts four in-game attributes massively for a limited period. Use GOAT skills that fit with your build and are upgradeable. An upgraded GOAT skill will have longer durations, so at least use one that lasts for 8 minutes or more.
• Skill boosts: These are essential in-game items that can benefit your builds, especially in must-win games.
• 2x XP boosts/2x Rep: They're helpful if you're trying to win rewards in quick time.

• Zach Lavine: Michael Jordan has an excellent layup package inside the game, and Lavine's is highly identical to that.
• Nikola Jokic: Go-to layup package for big men.
• Giannis Antetokounmpo: His layups in NBA 2K25 is an improvement over last year. Good choice for big men.

As an additio??nal note, the default options for swings and bigs are pretty good as?? well when you begin your journey.
