The wallet-troubling merchandisers over at Good Smile Co. have opened pre-orders on the next gaming superstar joining its enormous range of ridiculously adorable Nendoroid figurines �And this time around, it's a true icon of the medium, with the coming of Street Fighter legend Chun-Li!

As with all Nendoroid releases, Chun-Li stands a dinky 100mm in height, (that's just under four inches), and comes complete with a stand and several faceplates and accessories �allowing fans to stage The Strongest Woman in The World in all manner of dynamic poses. The additional Faceplates ??include a business face, a cute smile, and even a tearful expression, though why you'd use that is beyond me. Accessories include alternate hands, a Kikoken fireball, and Chunner's famous Lightning Legs kick!

If you'd like your own pocket-sized Chun-Li to stand guard over your desk, then you can pre-order her right now over at the official Good Smile Co. store and other toy retailers. Nendoroid Chun-Li retails for ¥8,400, (or roughly $58 USD), not including shipping, handling, or any potential customs charges. Chun-Li is expected to ship in the summer of 2023. Surprisingly, this is only the first of the Street Fighter Nendoroids. Given the huge rost?er of characters on offer, one would think Good Smile would have tapped ??this market long before now.

Sexual tension: Now in chibi form

Good Smile Co. has opened pre-orders on its second Nendoroid figure pulled from Supergiant Games' excellent roguelite, Hades �Joining the huge collection of dinky PVC pop-culture characters is our first boss, the guardian of Tartarus, and Zagreus' rival in both love and war, Megaera.

Megaera stands a miniature 100mm in height (just under four inches) and is packed out with the posing power that comes as standard with the Nendoroid range. The harsh-whisperin' fury sister comes complete with a selection of alternate hands and faceplates, including her trademark RBF and even a r?arely-seen smile. Of course, Meg would not be Meg without her trusty whip, though she can also be posed with her Skull Earring Keepsake or her cute, but surprisingly powerful, Battie Companion.

The Hades Megaera Nendoroid is available to pre-order now over at the Good Smile Co. website and other collectible retailers. Meg retails for ¥8,500, (or roughly $58 USD), not including shipping or any potential customs charges. The fury sister will ship in the summer of 2023. Previous Hades Nendoroids Zagreus and Thanatos are available now. I'm not really a Nendo collector, but if they release all three Fury Sisters then I'll de?finitely pick the trio up.

While Good Smile Company's catalogue of delightful Nendoroid toys is well into three figures, i??t is staggering to believe that WayForward's cu??te genie gal Shantae was still yet to join the roster. After all, The Half-Genie Hero seems custom designed for such pint-sized stylization.

Well, after years of longing, Good Smile has finally opened pre-orders on the new Nendo of the purple-haired wonder, ready to come dancing out of the screen?? and onto your toy shelf. As is the case for all Nendoroids, Shantae stands around four inches in height and features dynamically poseable limbs, so you can have our gal cutting a rug in any way you choose.

In terms of accessories, Shantae comes complete with a st??and and three separate faceplates, offering her a cute smile, a cheeky wink, or as much of an "angry face" as she can muster... Somebody gon' get a hair-whuppin'. Shantae also has alternate arms posed for dancing, pointing, and fireball flinging, as well as a replacement ponytail in freeform whip action. As the cherry on the cake, Shantae is accompanied by a teeny figurine, reflecting her Monkey form from the smash hit series. Adorbs.

The sun is shining, the weekend is just around the corner, and Good Smile Company has opened pre-orders on this ridiculously adorable Nendoroid of Guilty Gear's mysterious, straight-faced apoc?alypse lover, Raml?ethal Valentine.

Like so many of her compadres in the mammoth Nendoroid range, (though only the second pulled from Arc System Works' anime fight franchise), Ramlethal stands a dinky four inches in height, (and most of that is her big ol' hat), and is authentically bedecked in her bladed coat and hot pants combo. Packaged with Ramlethal are Lucifero and her semi-sentient greatswords, an alternate set of arms, and a?n alternate face plate �so you can have grumpy or grump-and-shouting. Clear stands allow Ramlethal and her swords to defy gravity, giving the impression that they are floating in place. Nice touch.

On the road again

I may not buy much merch from Good Smile Company? these days, but showing up to see which video game characters have b??een immortalized as stylish figures is a fun pastime. How will they be represented in Nendoroid form, and what are the accessories? I like to poke around. In the case of this 30th Anniversary Nendoroid Kirby, it's all about the faces.

Nendoroid Kirby: 30th Anniversary Edition comes with accessories like a bindle (the lore of the Kirby series never ceases to amaze me?), a sweet potato, a heart, an??d a Star Rod.

You can do a face-off, too �Kirby's starry-eyed look is a fine default, but there's also "spiral eyes," "a flustered face," and my favorite, the "retro face." Kirby looks so determined! Much like plump Pikachu, it's fun to reflect o??n how character designs have shifted over the years. Come to think of it, Kirby's retro face smile reminds me of a Mii.

The 30th anniversary Nendoroid Kirby costs $47.99 with an estimated ship date of February 2023, so consider this a present to your future self �how surprised will you be when you bust open the box next year? Pre-orders are open today through July 13, 2022.

30 years of pleasant platforming

In August, the Kirby series will continue its celebration with an anniversary concert at Tokyo?? Garden Theater. It's been a l??ong and generally pleasant journey, hasn't it?

1996's mind-blowing Kirby Super Star and this year's Kirby and the Forgotten Land are at the top of my list. (Granted, I've missed a lot, but it's hard to imagine anything else?? resonating with me on this level; both games were a "right place, right time" sorta deal.)

The next PlayStation character to get a Nendoroid is none other than Astro from Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro's Playroom??, and that goes to show how far this mascot has come.

I mean it! We were talking about Good Smile Company's figure for Aloy (of Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West fame) just a few days ago. And now here's the ??humble little bot, looking like a champ. When's the next game? There's got to be another one.

Good Smile Company is taking pre-orders, and you'll have until June 29 to partake. The Astro Nendoroid costs $63.99, and it's aiming to ship in February 2023, but as Siliconera points out, these things have a ten?dency to slip. You'll need some patience either way.

Aside from the default face, Ast??ro also comes ??with swappable "dizzy" and "smiling" expressions, as well as accessories: a fuse, a PlayStation coin, and laser feet.

I love this design as is, and it's a natural fit for the Nendoroid line, but one thing is missing. Imagine if they recreated some of the collectible PlayStation console "artifacts" from Astro's Playroom. The pack-in PS5 game was such a nostalgic, ??nod-filled collect-a-thon.

The Astro Bot figure is so cute and pure, I feel guilty for neglecting Astro's Playroom �a game I got all of the trophies for but admittedly haven't thought about much since the PS5 launched. I ??should download that again (you can never have enough free space...) and try to improve some of my times. Or maybe I'll just pop back in to soak up the jams.

Good Smile Company's range of pint-sized Nendoroid figures are well known for their wholesome adorability... But I think this latest effort takes things to a whole new level of cuteness. The intrepid Aloy �protagonist of Guerrilla Games' acclaimed Horizon franchise �is taking aim at your heart and wa??ll??et.

Like the many Nendoroid releases before her, Aloy stands a dinky four inches in height and comes sculpted in high-quality painted PVC plastic. Aloy comes packaged with three faceplates: a sweet grin, a little grumpy roar, and a winking/aiming expression. Aloy comes loaded for bear with her trusty spear, bow & arrow, and even a power-enhancing Focus segment. As a cool little extra, the Aloy Nendoroid also comes with a super-scaled-down version of the reconnaissance machin?e: The Watcher.

While Nendoroids are well known for their fun detailing and petite nature, Aloy here has really captured my heart, and might be my favorite Nendo since Overwatch's Sombra, which debuted way back in 2018. If fancy an Aloy for your very own, then you can pre-order the n?ew Nendoroid over on the official Good Smile Co. website. Aloy will retail for ¥6,500 (or roughly $50 USD), not including shipping or any potential customs charges, and she is expected to ship in October of this year.

We all love Hades, right? Of course we do, we're not monsters. But I'm sure you'd agree that for such a cool-looking, stylish game, packed with the hottest cast this side of Asphodel, there is a shocking l?ack of available merch �Where the he??ll is my plush Artemis? Still, Good Smile Company is trying to get the boulder rolling, opening pre-orders on a new Nendoroid of Hades' swoonsville protagonist, Zagreus.

As is typical of the Nendoroid line, the trouble-causing Prince of the Underworld stands a dinky four-inches high, and will also come complete with a selection of fun accessories �including a Bloodstone cast, his trusty Blade o??f Stygius, his Captain America-esque Shield of Aegis, and a little bottle of nectar to offer Dusa, Than, Nyx, or Good Boy Cerbereus. Zagreus comes packaged with a base, weapon stands, and alternate faceplates, seemingly depicting "grin" and "rogueish gri??n".

If you fancy the bad boy (who doesn't?) for yourself, then you'll be pleased to know that pre-orders are now live over at the Good Smile Co. website. The Zagreus Nendoroid retails for ¥5,500 (or roughly $55 USD) and is expected to ship toward the very end of 2022. He's almost a year away! Tiny Tearaway

Is it actually possible for Hades' anti-hero Zagreus to be any cuter than he already is? Good Smile Co. seem to think so, with a weekend announcement that the hell-raiser is about to be immortalized in teeny, tiny plastic form, the newest pop culture ch?aracter to join the merch-maker's Nendoroid range.

As this was merely an initial announcement, there are unfortunately no prototype images of Hades Nendoroid Zagreus, but Good Smile did bestow upon us an artist's impression of the wild prince's final form. We can expect Zagreus to stand four inches in height, and the likelihood that he will be accompanied by alternate faceplates and even a few accessories... If he doesn't come with a Dusa head then Good Smile has absolutely missed a trick. More information will be revealed soon, and we'll be sure to let you know when the Hades Nendoroid line is open for pre-orders.

Back on digital Mount Olympus, Supergiant Games' Hades continues to pull in new fans every month, drawn in by its compelling gameplay loop and insanely sexy cast of characters. Since its official PC and Switch release in late 2020, the roguelike RPG has continued to win numerous awards and plaudits, and just last month received a long-awaited port to PlayStation and Xbox platforms. Licensors and brands �such as Good Smile and Nendoroid �are no doubt salivating at the continued merch possibilities.?.. As am I, quite frankly. Toys to fill you with DETERMINATION

Two more legendary faces from the world of video games are joining the mammoth Nendoroid figure range. As revealed this morning by merch-makers Good Smile Co., the rascally duo of Sans and Papyrus from popular RPG Undertale will soon be given the dinky Nendoroid treatment, ready to sit on your?? bookshelves and offer you the worst life advice.

Unfortunately, Good Smile did not have any prototype images to show off, but the bony brothers were revealed on Twitter with an artist's impression of their final forms. Fans can expect the two figurines to stand around four inches in height, and they may even be packaged with alternate faceplates and other accessories, such is the way of the Nendoroid range. Good Smile Co. listed the two figurines as "Comi??n??g Soon", but I wouldn't be surprised if we're looking at late-2022.

The Nendoroid range continues to conquer pop culturedom with its huge range of chibi TV, movie, and video game stars. Among globally recognized characters such as Zelda, Link, Hatsune Miku, and Disney Princesses, the range also features lesser-known characters from franchises such as Sakura Wars, Sakuna: Of Rice & Ruin, Hololive, RWBY, My Hero Academia, Persona, and many, many more.

The Nendoroid figurines feature an intricately detailed design, with a charisma ??that I think puts them head and shoulders over the similar Funko POP toys, although this is reflected in a higher price-poin??t, with the average Nendo retailing around $55 USD.

The adorable but mischievous Princess Sakuna, titular star of farming RPG Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is definitely making her presence felt here and there. We recently reported on the harvest goddess's new Pop-Up Parade figurine, as well as her crossover appearance in Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, and this week brings news of both a n?ew toy and a second guest appearance. ??You love to see it!

First up, Good Smile Co. has announced that Sakuna will be joining the mammoth ranks of the merch-producers super-cute Nendoroid line of figurines. Sakuna's Nendoroid stands a typically dinky four inches in height and comes complete with two face plates �a totes adorbs smile and a grumpy "I'm working" face �and additional accessories such as her kasa field hat, a rice bowl, a fox mask, a scarf and? her friendly companion, Tama. In Sakuna's second piece of news, the hard-working, hard-playing goddess will be making a guest appearance in Studio HG's "rouge-lite core-action" Nintendo Switch release Metallic Child. Studio HG did not offer details as to how?? the crossover will work, but the event will kick off on September 16. A cool piece of artwork, which you can check out above, was released to announce the news.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin �available now on PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch �launched in November 2020 to an admittedly modest reception. Thanks to its cheerful cast of characters, classical style, and interesting, genre-blended gameplay, Sakuna would still find a dedicated following and, eventually, pass the one million sales mark. While no DLC is planned for ??the game, Edelweiss has noted its inte?rest in a possible sequel in the future.

Monika and you, together forever

As some of you may know, (well, about three of you), I have a few relatively strict toys that sit by my computer monitor in order to keep me focused on my work. They include an amiibo of Animal Crossing's hard-working doggo Isabelle, and figurines of Persona 5's no-nonsense jailors?, Justine & Caroline. As I can be eas?ily distracted by... anything, these plastic pals are there to remind me to stop procrastinating and keep typing.

Still, there's perhaps no greater toy to help drive inspiration than this new Nendoroid of Monika, the spirited young gal from Team Salvato's Doki Doki Literature Club. Coming soon from the fine folk at Good Smile Company, the adorable Monika Nendo wi??ll brighten up anybody's living quarters, offering you friendship, guidance, and tutelage �in this life and the next.

Monika's physical model is yet to? be revealed, but concept art shows the cheerful club president in her trademark high school garb, clutching a pen and paper with which to spill purple prose to her loved ones. Good Smile has not announced a release date for the Monika Nendoroid, but notes that more details will be "coming soon", so you don't have to worry about any dollars being deleted from your bank account. Hopefully, fellow club membe?rs Sayori, Natsuki, and Yuri will follow at a later date

Back in the digital realm, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! is now available to purchase on PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms. This revised edition includes high-definition visuals, six new sid??e stories, over 100 unlockable images, and an expanded soundtrack.

All that toiling pays off

In news to brighten many mornings, Good Smile Company has announced that it will be adding Princess Sakuna from Xseed Games' Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin to its burgeoning Nendoroid range. The mischievous farmer was announced as part of the "WonHobby32" showcase, which revealed a selection of cute toys and collectibles for a variety of gaming and a?nime IPs. Has there ever been a character so suited to the cute toy brand?

Unfortunately, it seems like the Harvest Goddess is still a long way out, as Good Smile only has a single piece of concept art to show her fans, but it appears that Sakuna will be fashioned in her lavish work garb, and will be accessorized with numerous tools and her trusty conical hat. We can likely expect the finished design to feature an ?alternate faceplate.

Released in November for PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin sees the tearaway goddess sent to a remote island in order to help the local community rebuild and farm their crops. Once there, however, Sakuna becomes embroiled in a battle between the ramshackle village and an army of monsters that roam the land. While Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin did not exactly light up the score board, developer Edelweiss has noted it is pleased with the product and would like to see Sakuna's adventures continue in a possible sequel.

Ellie's Nendoroid is based on her appearance in the just-released sequel The Last of Us Part II, and bundles the regular urban survivor with an alternate faceplate and several accessories. Players can display the dinky mass murderer with either a pensive or shouty face, while arming her a machete, bow & arrow, handgun, or that TLOU staple, a hefty housebrick. Kawaii!

Catch the Sun

It's been a double dose of cuteness from Good Smile Co. this week. First we were introduced to the darling Sakura Wars Sakura Amamiya Nendoroid, and now we can squeeee with delight at this super-cute Nendo of Sun Goddess Amaterasu, star of Capcom's legendary 2006 adventure title Okami.

One of the most beloved protagonists in video game history, Amaterasu is available to purchase in two forms. A standard edition includ?es the charming white wolf, along with an alternate head, her guardian/guide Issun, and a Reflector Divine Revolution ??attack effect. This version will retail for ¥5,000, or roughly $46 USD.

Amaterasu is also available in a special "DX" format. Perhaps one of the most intricate Nendoroids in the series, Amaterasu DX includes the accessories from the standard edition, but also includes an alternate set of legs, alternate weapons Glaive Tsumugari and Devout Beads Rosary, and, amusingly, the Oddly Shaped Turnip. This edition will retail for ¥7,000, o????r roughly $65 USD.

If you're a fan of new Sakura Wars hero, Sakura Amamiya, but found Volks' $700 doll just a little on the pricey side, then you'll be pleased to hear that the Flower Div??ision's trademark klutz is to be immortalised in Good Smile Co's Nendoroid range.

The Sakura Amamiya Nendo showcases the aspiring actor and part-time demon slayer in her traditional kimono garb, complete with a choice of cheerful and "had enough of your shit" faceplates. Standing a dinky four inches in height, Sakura comes packaged with several cute accessories, including her trusty broomstick, her mother's Imperial Blade, and a novel front plate replicating a typical Sakura Wars dialogue box.

If you'd like to pick up this heart-melting figurine for yourself, then pre-orders are open right now at the Good Smile Co. website, ahead of her December 2020 release date. Sakura Amamiya costs ¥4,727, (roughly $45 USD), not including ??shipping or any potential custom?s charges. Now... Where's Hatsuho?

Pre-orders are open ahead of an August 2020 release

If I wanted to get a Death Stranding figure, I'd fork over way too much money for the Jumbo Ludens. That thing is a beast! But Good Smile Company also has a more traditional Nendoroid coming later this year for the game's stoic protagonist Sam Porter Bridges, and the toy is charming in its own right.

For starters, the cutie com?es with a miniature BB, to say nothing of the even smaller Cryptobiote snack. I also appreciate that the Odradek – the flapping scanner device designed to help Sam scout out ghostly BTs – has "several points of articulation," so it can be posed for maximum dramatic effect.

That said, they're saving?? the?? best stuff for the deluxe Great Deliverer figure.

That's right – this Nendoroid can carry a ridiculous cargo stack, just like in Death Stranding.

The standard Nendoroid Sam Porter Bridges costs $49.99, while the Great Deliverer Version commands a steep $83.99 price tag. Good Smile Company is taking pre-orders and expects to ship in ??August 2020.

I'm ?trying to be extra frugal right now, but this at least deserves a "like.?"

Adorable toy brings death and mayhem

When I think of the cutesy vinyl figurines that are Nendoroids, I think of games such as The Legend of Zelda, Overwatch, Persona, and other colourful titles full of smiling, fun-loving characters. So it's with a little surprise that I bring you the news of the latest figure coming to the Nendoroid line, Bloodborne's Hunter.

At present, only concept art is available, but we can see that the k??awaii demon-slayer has their classy-but-weathered gear all present and correct, along with an adorable little saw cleaver and a darling blunderbuss. It's probably safe to assume that this Nendo will come with other accessories and possibly variant face??plates, as is the style of the brand.

While I jest a little on the darker edge this Nendoroid takes, I do think it will be a great product, given the stylish design and detail of the Bloodborne characters. Given that only concept? art has been revealed, we're probably looking at some months before Hunter will be available to cleav?e a path through your bookshelf.

Dinky Dominatrix

During last weekend's Wo?nder Festival in Japan, toy manufacturer Good Smile Co. revealed that Sega's popular haute couture witch, Bayonetta, is in line to receive the Nendoroid treatment. That is, she is to be shrunk down? into a super-cute chibi style, and then released as a somewhat pricey figurine.

Unfortunately, there are no images, or ?even concept pictures of Bayo's upcoming Nendo, but given what we know of the brand, we can take it as given that she'll probably come with a selection of alternate accessories and faceplates. It appears that Bayonetta will also be?? rocking her classic look from the first game, which launched way back in 2009, if you can believe that.

??Of course, we'll give you a heads up once Bayo is ready to make her grand appearance.

Pint-sized princess

Good Smile continues to adorablify (I went there) some of video games' greatest heroes, transforming them into the cute figurines of the ongoing Nendoroid range. This weekend, courtesy of Japanese convention Wonder Festival, we got to see the finished design of the previously announced Zelda Nendo.

Rocking her quaint Breath of the Wild look, we can see that a fine job has been done in capturing the charming spirit of Hyrule's favourite princess. Only one photo has been revealed so far, so we'll have to wait a bit longer to check out her accessories or alternate faceplates. Still, she's looking good I think??, a release worth keeping an eye out for.

As release dates for Nendoroids are usually set several months after pre-orders open, it's getting a bit late in the day for Zelda to hit the shelves before 2020, but we'll find out more details soon enough. In the meantime, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is always available on Nintendo Switch.

Fun time toy manufacturer Good Smile Co. has announced that they are at work on a Nendoroid figurine of one of gaming's greatest gals. Princess Zelda, sporting her awesome Breath of the Wild design, is headed to a bookshelf near you.

Unfortunately, there's little to show other than an artist's impression of the finished product, but Zelda alrea?dy looks totes adorbs. No doubt she will come with a selection of mini-accessories and alternate faceplates, as is the case for mos?t Nendoroids. There's not even a hint at a release date, but these figures usually release several months after their models are revealed, so hopefully she'll be arriving in time for the holiday season.

Standing 100mm in height, Isabelle comes ro??cking her Spring/Summer garb and, as expected, features numerous, impossibly cute faceplates and accessories, even a real bell! If you have previous Isabelle Nendos, then the parts are interchangea?ble for even more adorable setups.

MOL-TON CORRRRRRE!

The model fanatics at Good Smile Co. have turned out an abundance of Nendoroid and Figma prototypes this year, from a variety of anime and video game brands. Over on the Overwatch line, the latest? hero to be replicated in Nendo form is expert mechanic T??orbjörn.

Clearing having been designed before he received his recent overhaul, Torbjörn returns carrying his trusty Forge Hammer and Rivet Gun, ready and prepared to lay down one of his troublesome turrets, or fire molten lead in harm's way. Also supplied is a turret itself, and even one of those mini-armor ?packs that... he doesn't have anymore.

I really like the design on this Nendoroid. Torb has been very well caricatured and there's a lot of really neat details to his gear, facial hair, and weaponry. If you're interested in picking up the defense master, then pre-orders open today, ahead of his expected March 2019 release. Torbjörn costs ¥5,463, or r??oughly $50 USD, not including shipping and handling.

More Kirby than you can inhale

Wonder Con 2018, held in Chiba, Japan last weekend, brought a selection of fun new toys for Kirby fans, courtesy of adorability enthusiasts Good Smile Co.

First up, the toy manufacturer revealed that Nintendo's ever-hungry blob would be receiving a new Nendoroid. Concept art appeared to depict Kirby in his Beam form, sporting yellow colouring and complet?e with his jeste?r crown and wand. Too cute.

If that wasn't enough, then prototype models of four Corocoroid capsule toys were on display, featuring Kirby in multiple iterations, taken from his extensive catalogue of classic titles. While DreamLand Kirby, Super Star Kirby, Kirby's Adventure Kirby and Star Allies Kirby were all present and correct, ??there was sadly no sign of "Badass Western Localisation Kirby", sporting his trademark frown and open mouth.

No details were released as to the price or release dates of any of the above items. No doubt Good Smile will let us all know when pre-ord??ers ope??n closer to release.

There's Dr. Gothboots, Cavalier McBighat, and the others

This weekend saw a plethora of images and announcements regarding expensive plastic headed toward the home of Persona 5 fans. Through Wonder Festival 2018, held in Chiba, Japan, we got to see various characters from Atlus' popular RPG immo??rtalised in figure form.

There were declarations of intent to produce Figmas for Ryuji and Haru, as well as prototype models for Yusuke, Makoto and her trusty steed, Johanna. Kotobukiya announced figurines of Joker and Morgana in their Dancing Night forms, While Nendoroid lovers got to check out the prototypes for Makoto and ?Joker, as well as a concept image for Yusuke.

One of the coolest announcements came from Amakuni, who revealed the prototype of their figurine based on everyone's favourite, incredibly dangerous, no-shits-given-about-the-hippopotamus-oath doctor, Tae Takemi, posed in her classic "Gimme money for meds, punk" style. Amakuni will also be releasing figures in the future of Haru in Noir form, and Makoto in her punky Dancing Night gear. Phew.

And that's not all ACKS got in on the ACKStion by revealing prototypes of Joker's original persona, Arsene, as well as a neat figure based on Persona 3's Aigis. You can check out a gallery of images below, then sit back and think about how much all this tat is gonna cost. There's little I wouldn't do for the Queen. That's l?ove, ?pal.

I dig these chibi toys

Unlike some of my fellow writers on Destructoid, I’m not much of a toy collector. I have several Zelda collectibles, some Funko POP! figures, and a few LEGO sets I haven’t bothered to put together, b??ut that’s the extent of it. Most of my video game collectibles are books, puzzles, board games, and the such. I don’t have anything against collecting toys, I just hate having to dust small,?? intricate pieces. But that’s changing because of Good Smile Company and its line of Nendoroids.

Very recently, after having it in storage for more than a year, I took my Majora’s Mask Link Nendoroid out of the box and was blown away by the quality of the figure. I was so impressed, I immediately went to Amazon to finally buy the Breath of the Wild Link with Horse figure, but stopped when I saw the asking price. These things are expensive, and despite my love for Breath, I couldn’t bring myself to spend more than $70 on the figure. But I would spend that much money?? and probably more for Ness.

I’m one of those terrible gamers who claim Earthbound is one of their favorite games without ever having completed it. I played it for the first time not long after it launched on my uncle’s SNES, but only had about an hour with it. Last year I started playing it for real and am very slowly making the march towards the end. I do very much enjoy the game, but my adoration for Ness doesn’t originate from Earthbound. I love him because of Smash.

Among my group of friends, nobody wanted to be Ness in Super Smash Bros. They wanted Mario, Donkey Kong, and Fox. I started as a Link main, but when Ness w?as unlocked I gravitated towards him. I loved his playing style and how it was so unique from the rest of the cast. I loved the fact that he was just a kid like me. Mostly, I loved sniping people with PK Thunder.

That move is just one of many that could be made into accessories for a Ness Nendoroid. PK Fire is also a possibility, as are the various weapons he equips himself with throughout his adventure. His cracked bat, his yo-yo, his robot body, his pajama body, hatless Ness head, his hands ??holding a peace sign; there is an e??normous amount of accessory possibilities.

There may or may not be a line of Earthbound POP! figures coming, but my Ness amiibo is better than most anything Funko is putting out. For the price they’re okay, but I’m ready and willing to spend more than necessary to procure myself a Ness Nendoroid. Hopefully, Good Smile Comp??any can make it ?happen.

Now that I'm personally familiar with the best video game to be dedicated to bugkind, I can confidently say I'd love a figure of best girl Hornet. It might be a stretch to suggest an indie game character for a Nendoroid, but Hollow Knight has made enough waves to hit many a mainstream radar. Team Cherry also seems open to the realm of figures, as evident by their own custom $200 Hollow Knight fig. I'm sure most of us assumed they were limited to Japanese properties until we saw Overwatch hit their lineup, so who knows...?

As for why Hornet, the Knight has plenty of great moves that would translate into excellent Nendo accessories, so I think either would work excellently. But Hornet doesn't h??ave quite as much official merch, so I'm rooting for the underbug. Her needle and thread a??re dynamic enough weapons to weave into plenty of stylish dramatic and acrobatic poses. Also, I can only imagine how adorable her stoic chibi face might be.

Tian Ma

Here's the thing: these days merchandising has become part of a well-oiled machine. It's hard to find a recent ?game property that I'd like toys for that doesn't already have such. On top of that, the games I like already belong to popular franchises that are heavily merchandised.

My pick goes to the fairies of Kantai Collection. I don't actually play KanColle because a browser-based RNG driven game doesn't sound that appealing. But I really enjoyed the anime and the genre of military-hardware-anthropomorphized-into-cute-girls, so here we are. In KanColle ?there are these chibi-fied characters known as fairies who fly the fighter pla??nes, work the guns, and even blow the winds. They'd be perfect subjects for Nendoroids or even some gashapon figures. They're so damn cute, but to my knowledge, there aren't any toys of them out there. I'm putting this in as a plea. I have money here in my hands. Somebody make this! Take my money!

Salvador G-Rodiles

If there's a character who deserves the rite of passage into the realm of Nendoroids, it's Marina Liteyears from Mischief Makers. Other than her starring in one of my favorite Nintendo 64 games, the Ultra Intergalactic Cybot G&?rsquo;s adorable appearance makes her the perfect candidate for Goodsmile's chi??bi figure toy line.

Her accessories can include a random Clancer for her to do her signature “Shake Shake” action while sporting a cute facial attachment. Then again,?? they could go the extra mile and have it come with the cluster of enemies that she's holding in the Japanese cover of the game. That way, it can capture her ridiculous side. Thanks to the special ending from obtaining all of the gold gems, they could make Nendos of her two human forms as well. In other words, they can tr??iple the cuteness.

Come to think of it, none of Treasure's heroes and heroines received this treatment, which shows that she needs to become one soon. While we're at it, we might as well have them focus on their other games since the big-eyed style featured in the likes of Guardian Heroes and Radiant Silvergun m?akes them perfect for this super-deformed brand.

Nendoroids have been good to me, with characters like Persona 5's Makoto and Overwatch's Sombra already confirmed. To be honest, I could probably come up with a hundred other answers for this, such as Final Fight's Poison and KoF's Leona Heidern.

But what would be really rad, would be a Nendo of Faith Connors from Mirror's Edge, one of my favourite game gals. The intrepid courier could sit by me and inspire me through my work and play, as well as make daring parkour runs to the kitchen to fetch my lazy a??ss another donut. Of co??urse, her stumpy legs might make some of those leaps a little tricky,

Accessories could include a little runner's satchel, a gun - that you never ever use because you'r??e playing the game properly - and a stopwatch for all those tool-assisted speedruns. A selection of faceplates could be included to convey Faith's wide range of dynamic emotions, from studious, to serious, to super-duper serious. While there are plenty of characters I'd like to see immortalised as Nendos, as the m??an once said, I gotta have Faith.

Batthink: My first choice would be a Morrigan Aensland (Darkstalkers) one. This'll give people at Good Smile?? the opportunity to be able to add parts, so you can swap her face/hair/clothing like she does in her victory poses. Removable wings, everything.

My second choice would be Yangus from Dragon Quest VIII. The body would p?robably be a bit wider than most Nendoroids, but having one of my other favourite characters in games would give me a big smile. Also, lots of battle-axe posing.

King Kaiser: Maya Fey! That'd be one adorable Nendoroid, plus you could have a standard ve??rsion with ramen, and a special Ameri??can version with burgers!

There isn't enough cash to world to purchase all this plastic

Yesterday, we reported on a new Nendoroid of Persona 5's hacker Futaba Sakura. Because, apparently, we have an inexhaustible supply of cash, Good Smile Co. and Max Factory have also revealed new Figma and Nendoroids for The Phantom Thieves actual Best Girl, Makoto Niijima.

Announced this weekend at China's CCG Expo 2018, Both Makoto and Futaba will be getting finely crafted Figma releases, typified by their? intricate detail and articulation. The two gals will join protagonist Joker and the fun-loving Ann Takamaki, who have already had Figma releases in the past.

If that isn't enough, Makoto will also be receiving a Nendoroid, featuring the high school prez in her uber-cool "Queen" getup. Finally, a "Transformation" figure is planned for Makoto's trusty ride, Johanna, which can be morphed into her guardian Persona, Anat. That's a lot of rad merch en route for Her Highness.

There are currently no prototype images, dates or prices for any of the above releases, so the wait for t??hem to arrive on a mantelpiece near you could be quite a long one. But you're probably quite tired after reading all of? this exciting news, and should probably go to bed.

It seems that Good Smile Co. are on a mission to announce more Nendoroid pre-orders than anyone can hope to keep up with. Today sees the reveal of brainiac cutie-pie Futaba Sakura, computer genius and alleged "Best Girl" from Atlus RPG soap-opera, Persona 5.

Standing at a dinky 100mm, Futaba is rocking her classic "Summer clothes/Winter coat" aesthetic and comes with a selection of fun accessories. Packaged with a computer keyboard, mobile phone and cup of noodles, the shy-but-driven ke??yboard warrior is ready to take do?wn any conglomerate who threatens her posse, The Phantom Thieves.

Futaba features three face plates, so you can adorn her with a cute smile, a sneaky grin or a sad face. Who the hell would give her the sad face? Alternate arms are?? also included for a selection of p?oses. If that isn't enough, a tiny Morgana is also included, ready to send you to bed, or overly-analyse a television show, at a moment's notice.

Nendoroid Futaba Sakura is available for pre-order until August 5 at Good Smile Co. at a cost of ¥4,630, or around $43 USD. Futaba should be shi??pping out in December.
