Let's celebrate the recent September 30 date for Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax with this trailer for Mitsuru. She's the best, despite her whacked out Arena costume.

The Hollow Forest Tsundere Poet, Marie, is in Persona 4 Ultimax as DLC. Atlus has now confirmed that, like Adachi, Marie will be ??freely available to download for the first week post-release.

Following the first week of release, both will revert to paid DLC characters. I? wonder if the rumored Margaret is also going to come free under a similar deal at la??unch (or if she's more than just a rumor).

Two more Persona 4 Ultimax trailers

The best Persona 4 character already got trailered, but I guess Atlus still needs to finish up. This week it's Kanji and Naoto, both with voice actors that are throwing me for a loop. It feels like it should've happened sooner, re??ally, but nope, no uncanny disconnect until right now.

Maybe it's that stereotypical squeal Kanji's original v??oice has. I don't know. 

Anyways, I've still yet to go back to the first Persona 4 Arena. It's looking less likely I'll get some time in ahead of Ultimax.

Brosuke bro-ing out

I got so excited about Yu's Yul Brynner chest on the Persona 4 Ultimax box art that I almost missed new trailers for Yukiko and Yosuk??e.

I never noticed this, but Yosuke's persona sort of looks like the frog navi the frog reporter uses in Mega Man Battle Network 2. Yeah, I like those games.

Also, Golden Arena Mode revealed

Have I ever told you guys how much I disliked Ken in Persona 3? A lot. I dislike him a lot. I didn't realize he was in Ultimax or that poor little Koromaru would be saddled with picking up Ken-kun?'s ??slack.

We also have a video of the Golden Arena Mode. You pick a?? social link partner, d??ifficulty, and then do fighting and beef up your stats or learn new combos. Seems fun enough.

God I still love that name

I don't remember if I ever beat Shadow Labrys in Persona 4 Arena on account of me being bad at fighter?s. I do want to go play it some more now, though. I only made ?it that far with Chie. So much visual novel bits (and fights, I guess) still unplayed.

I did have someone teaching me the game, but that fell through. You folks still playing? I might go ahead and try and get good at at least one fighter and it might as well be Persona. I've got four months to blow through the first Arena before Ultimax.

Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold hit Japanese arcades yesterday. The fighting game is slated to expand its reach to PlayStation 3 in the country sometime next summer, Atlus announced earlier this week during the Persona 5 reveal event. 

In the meantime, the developers?? have released the game's opening cinematic for your viewing pleasure. The footage imparts a handful of character introductions along with a fleeting glance at the title's story. What a tease! Still no official word on whether there are any plans for an international release at this time.
