Gallery Nucleus will host the event

Atlus has announced that it will be teaming up with Gallery Nucleus to put on a Persona 5 Royal and Catherine: Full Body art gallery in LA next month. Similar to what Sega held last year for Yakuza 6, this exhibition will be a showcase of various pieces related to the games in question. There is set to be some ?kind of interactive installation (likely related to a famous landmark fr?om the game) and a photo-op wall.

Running from August 17 until September 1, 2019, the showcase will feature tribute art for both titles as well as pieces created by fans sourced by Gallery Nucleus. Special pieces of licensed Atlus merchandise will be available for purchase during the gallery's duration. Not only that but on opening day, famed character designer Shigenori ?Soejima will be making an appearance.

Soejima will be present from 1:00 pm PST until 7:00 pm PST on Saturday, August 17. He'll be hosting a special opening day ceremony and panel where fans will be able to ask questions and get items signed. Pre-registration for the opening day event will begin on August 2 over on Eventbrit?e. While admission is free, spots will be limited, so make sure to bookm??ark this page to remind yourself.

Morgana returns to shout information at you

Bedtime-loving feline Morgana is back with another edition of "Morgana's Report", in which the obnoxiously loud kitty delivers new scoops regarding Atlus' upcoming re-release Persona 5: The Royal.

Last time, we got a look at some of the new confidants and locations headed to world of The Phantom Thieves, whereas as this new report looks at the battle mechanics that will take place in Mementos and beyond. The video begins wit??h a ?glimpse of new gal Kasumi Yoshizawa in action, denoting that her arcana is "Faith", represented by her tarot "La Foi". Kasumi's persona, Cindrellion, specialises in physical attacks.

At about 04:00 in the video below, we learn about all new special treasures known as "Ishi", which can be earned from defeating more powerful shadows. Thes??e rare items can be traded for accessories which, when equipped, will provide the wearer with powerfu?l new effects and abilities.

At around 04:45, we see Joker utilise his all-new Grapple Wire, which can apparently provide faster traversal around the dungeo??ns, and can even be latched? onto shadows to provide stealth attacks from long distances. This looks like it could be an invaluable tool in providing a quicker pace to the dungeons, which is something I definitely need if I'm going to be re-running these labyrinth stages once again.

Speaking of tools, Persona 5's gun system is being tweaked. Far more firearm c??ustomisation options will be made available at Iwai's store, and guns will now fully reload after each battle, which sounds great on p??aper, but might make the grenade launcher-touting Haru a little over-powered. We shall see. Speaking of Haru, here she is rocking her new casual outfit. New duds will be coming for many cast members.

Answering fan questions, Atlus also reveals that Persona 5 Royal will include some form of Gallery, allowing players to revisit stills and cutscenes from the game. As good news must always be accompanied by bad, we ??are also informed that, unfortunately, we can expect "more" from Goro Akechi.

There is still plenty to reveal about Persona 5 Royal, which comes to Ja?pan on PS4 October 31, before heading west sometime in 2020. We'll have to stayed tuned for future editions o??f Morgana Reports, but for now, it's pretty late, and you should go to bed.

Atlus has uploaded a new E3 trailer for Persona 5 Royal that shows off the English dub for the game. In addition to the cast from the original title, both Laura Post and Billy Kametz will be voicing new characters Kasumi Yoshizawa and Takuto Maruki, respectively. Not much in the trailer sounds all that different from last time around, ??but it's nice to have confirmation that all of the players will be returning for this re-release.

Sadly, Royal will not be present at E3 this week. Sega will have something special for Persona fans at its booth, though. Attendees can head over to booth #4800 in the West Hall for a chance to steal some treasure of their own. While likely just a pin, t??????????????????????????hat's still pretty neat.

Dancing through the danger

Atlus has released a new trailer fully devoted to the brand new star of the upcoming Persona 5 Royal: Kasumi Yoshizawa. Kasumi is one of the highlighted features of Royal,? which is essentially an expanded re-release of 2017's smash hit ??JRPG.

In the video, we get to see the newest member of The Phantom Thieves out on the town with Joker, where she in??dulges in a bit of shopping, a good meal and a comical trip to the batting cage. More import?antly, we get to catch a glimpse of Kasumi's awakening, followed by the reveal of her battle outfit, her persona Cendrillon, and her All-Out Attack victory screen. Pretty slick.

Atlus has also released details of a special limited edition of Persona 5 Royal coming to Japan. The "Straight Flush" edition will include a new art book and soundtrack CD, along with a T-shirt and some exclusive costume DLC for both Royal and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight.

Down with the Kidz

Atlus continues to drip-feed features for the upcoming RPG update Persona 5 Royal. We have already seen some new stars - such as female lead Kasumi Yoshizawa and the mysterious Morgana boy - as well as new locations, like a gaming bar ?located in the hip district ?of Kichijoji.

All of this pales in comparison to a new reveal, that confirms Joker and crew can now invite Persona 5's best characters, jailers Justine & Caroline, out on the town for a evening of total mayhem... or at least some fries. The otherworldly duo will be able to visit various locations within the Persona 5 universe, where their acerbic a?ttitudes should immediately improve any night out.

Given that Justine & Caroline are two of Persona 5's best no-time-for-your-shit characters, I'm looking forward to hearing their opinions on Big Bang Burger, the local cinema, the cat-girl cafe, and not-Disneyland. I suppose Persona 5 Royal also features a bunch of new ch??aracters, events, mini-games, score remixes, and story ev?ents, but let's face it, with this revelation about J & C, all that stuff? sort of fades into the background.

Meet Kasumi Yoshizawa

Part of the fun of the Persona series is meeting party members. Atlus h?as a way with characterizatio?n, and the joy of going through an everyday life event like school and running into someone you're going to be spending the next 80 hours with is a special feeling.

You'll be able to experience that all over again with Kasumi Yoshizawa, the new character in the enhanced Persona 5 Royal version coming later this year. Atlus gives us a closer look at how she'll spring onto the scene: quite literally as she rescues an errant balloon that slipped out of the hands of a child. Protagonist Joker and his disguised cat Morgana are there to witness the event. Atlus reminds us that the gymnast Kasumi?? is a freshman who started school the same year as Joker, which we can only assume will allow them to bond further.

Persona 5 Royal is out in Japan on October 31 of this year, f??ollowed by a 2020 release in the west. Right now it is only slated for PS4.

Screaming cat has all the scoops

Atlus Japan has released the first in a series of videos for the upcoming Persona 5 The Royal, an updated edition of 2017's smash hit RPG. The "Morgana's Rep?ort" series will feature the excitable feline as he spotlights some of the new characters, events and additions present in The Royal.

The? Phantom Thieves will now be able to visit a new district, Kichijojo, home to a string of new activities with which to pass the time. These include visiting a gaming bar for a spot of pool or darts, more fine?? eateries, and even an aquarium. We also get to see Joker hanging out with new gal Kasumi, along with the "handsome boy" character (who is blatantly human Morgana). Also of note is a somewhat recognisable woman, viewed from behind with a bob-cut, who threatens to absolutely tear the drama of the original release asunder.

Of cours?e, the best addition featured in these clips is Joker apparently visiting Not-Disneyland with the bes??t characters in the game, jailers Justine & Caroline. Speaking of which, we also see Joker in Mementos, where he appears to be picking some strange and creepy fruit from a ghoulish plant.

What does all of this mean? I'm sure we'll find out in good time, as Persona 5 The Royal launches on PS4 in Japan O?ctober 31. It will make the ?leap overseas sometime in 2020.

Japanese gaming journal Famitsu are asking for fan feedback for English language editions of their Persona 5 "Mementos" fan-books. A new survey wants to hear about your experience with the game, as well ?as your thoughts on its cast of lovable cha?racters and Goro Akechi.

The first volume of the series is already available in Japan, containing the answers to community questions such as "How did Ann and Shiho first meet?" accompanied by delightful new artwork. Each volume will cover a chronological time-frame of the Persona 5 calenda??r, with Volume 2 looking at the second and third palaces, along with the official formation of The P??hantom Thieves.

Atlus has announced that they will be streaming this week's Persona music concert online, allowing fans who a??ren't stationed in Japan the opportuni?ty to check out the two-day live event, featuring a cavalcade of music from the JRPG series.

The splutteringly-titled Persona Super Live P-Sound Street 2019: Welcome to No. Q Theater! concerts take place tomorrow, April 24 and Thursday, April 25 at the Ryougoku Kokugikan in Tokyo. If the last show is anything to go by, it will feature artists performing music from the Persona titles to a jam-packed audience, accompanied by lots of glo-sticks and cosplaying dancers.

But if you can't be there in the flesh, then take heart that both gigs will be made available to watch on Niconico and the official Persona Twitter. The streams begin around 19:30 JST on both days. That's about 11:30 BST and a bleary-eyed 03:30 PT, so thos??e of you in the states might want to hope for VOD.

It is also expected that, during these events, we will receive more news concerning the upcoming Persona 5: The Royal and Persona 5 S titles?? wh?ich have been teased within recent months.

October 31 in the east

During Atlus' Persona 5 concert stream, the publisher gave us more juicy info on the upcoming Persona 5 re-release, and it's surprisingly not just Japan-re?lated. Okay so most of it is.

Atlus explained that Persona 5 The Royal will launch on October 31 in the region, and will sport an extra Phantom Thieves member: Kasumi Yoshizawa. Atlus promises more info in May, and Atlus USA confirmed that the western edition would arrive sometime in 2020. The Japanese landing page clarifies (thanks Nibel!) that this version has ?4K/Pro s??upport, new songs, and new characters (in addition to the aforementioned Kasumi).

While Persona 5 is a roughly 100 hour endeavor, nearly everyone I've interacted with would do it all over again (myself included!) with the original release, much less an enhanced Royal one. The implications for Royal are massive, as folks still play the re-releases of past Persona games years after the fact. I can see myself digging out my PS4 (or PS5, if the backward compatibility claims are accurate) 20 years from now to boot up Persona 5 again. More SKUs means m?ore copies in t?he wild and less chance of this fantastic game being lost to time.

Persona is also arguably in the best shape its ever been. While the Persona 4 Golden era was resplendent indeed, Joker's appearance in Super Smash Bros. is a huge win for Atlus, not to mention The Royal or an??y number of rumors swirling regarding Switch releases. I'll never forget how scrappy this series was when my cousin showed me his copy of the original. Now it's practically an institution.

We probably saw it coming

Atlus has released a short teaser trailer for Persona 5 The Royal, which is currently in development at P-Studio. Very little is known about this release, except that it's coming to PS4 and appears to feature a new female character. Though possibly a protagonist of some sort, fans are suggesting her dialogue puts her against The Phantom Thieves'? actions, rather than for ??them, Hmm...

Though purely speculation, The Royal, which was teased late last year, is potentially an updated version of 2016's hit RPG Persona 5. This would be in keeping with previous entry updates such as Persona 3: FES/Portable and Persona 4 Golden. More information will be released April 24.

Persona 5 The Royal is currently in development for PS4.
