To celebrate Palworld's first anniversary, Pock??etpair has revealed the game's Early Access roadmap, offering players a glimpse at the ??content they can expect to receive on the road to a 1.0 release.

Palworld came out of the gates swinging at the start of 2024, becoming a surprise mega-hit for Pocketpair despite still being an Early Access title. The game's unique "Pokemon with guns" theme was enough to pique gamers' curiosities, making the game an overnight success. While the player count hasn't remained at the dizzying heights of its launch period, Palworld remains extremely popular.

Palworld teases Early Access roadmap

Despite Palworld's popularity, Pocketpair never rested on its laurels, continuing to deliver frequent content for players. Now, as it celebrates the game's first anniversary, the developer has revealed the future roadmap as Palworld hurtles toward its 1.0 release.

Before Palworld fully launches, there are some pretty big features on the way. Headlining the roadmap is the addition of co-op crossplay, which will allow you to team up with your friends no matter where they play. The chance to transfer Pals between worlds and a potential ending scenario should also be an exci?ting prospect for fans.

Also in the pipeline is the already-announced Palworld x Terraria crossover, although this roadmap seems to hint at even more collaborations in the future. Then, there are the seemingly obvious things such as new Pals and technologies, which most could have guessed were on the way at some point. Finally, the roadmap reaches the generic "Other Improvements?" category, promising vague improvements across the board in various areas.

At the moment, Pocketpair has yet to provide a timeline for all of its planned Early Access content. Given the scale of the updates released over the last 12 months, it's not impossible to think most of the roadmap content will ar?rive in 2025.

Palworld is ending 2024 in style with the release of Feybreak. First revealed at The Game Awards 2024, it's expected to be the biggest update of the game so far. Like the previous one, Feybreak will be avail??able as a free DLC for all players. Here's everything else we know about it so far.

When will Feybreak release in Palworld?

The upcoming Palworld expansion will be released on December 23, 2024 across all platforms as a free DLC. All you have to do is download the update ??when it becomes available on your respective platform.

The trailer didn't have too many confirmed details for the fans, but we did manage to witness what cou?ld be a new faction. Its leader remains unnamed as of writing, but we do see him going up against the monsters and the player?. It looks like the leader will play the role of an antagonist, and it will be interesting to find out more when the DLC goes live.

Will Feybreak add new weapons in Palworld?

Based on what we saw, there will be new armor and weapons for the players to build. I am already excited about? what looked like a Gatling gun that uses lasers and machine guns. Once again, we will have to wait until the full laun?ch to have confirmed information regarding the new content.

The trailer gave us glimpses of plenty of monsters that will be added as part of the upcoming update. Of course, we haven't got any names, and here are their visual descriptions. The names will be added to the list if Pocketpair reveals some of them before the update goes live on December 23.

• A catlike creature in red and black

South Korean publisher Krafton has confirmed that it signed a licensing agreement with Palworld developer, Pocketpair. The agreement will see PUBG: Battlegrounds developer, PUBG Studios, bring Palworld to mobile devices for the first time.

Touted as "Pokemon with guns" by fans, Palworld was a surprise gargantuan success upon its Early Access launch earlier this year. Few, least ??of all Pocketpair, could have see??n its eyewatering sales figures coming, as it stormed to the top of the charts on PC and Xbox consoles at the start of 2024.

Player counts have dropped in the months since, although a recent PlayStation 5 release has helped bring new fans into the fold. Nintendo and The Pokemon Company suing Pocketpair has also played a part in keeping Palworld in the news cycle of late.

Krafton confirmed Palworld's upcoming mobile port in a statement on its website, with its subsidiary PUBG Studios moving forward on the project. The announcement gave no release window for Palworld on Android and iOS, although it did confirm it "plans to faithfully reinterpret and implement the original’s main fun el?ements to?? fit the mobile environment." Whether this results in any significant gameplay changes remains to be seen.

Just days after winning its $15 million dollar copyright lawsuit against a Chinese company behind a mobile game called Pocket Monster Reissue that seemed to blatantly use Pokemon characters, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Pocketpair Inc., the developer of hit game Palworld that released earlier this year.

According to the press release by Nintendo, the joint patent infringement lawsuit was filed today, September 18, 2024, and seeks an injunction against infringement and compensation for damages on the grounds that Palworld infri?nges multiple patent rights. The release also reiterates a statement provided by Nintendo earlier this year in which N??intendo indicated that it will continue to take necessary actions against any infringement of its intellectual property rights including the Nintendo brand itself, to protect the intellectual properties it has worked hard to establish over the years.

Palworld released in Early Access in January this year and sold over a million copies in just 8 hours. By the end of January Palworld had surpassed 19 million total ?playe??rs, becoming one of the fastest-selling games on Steam of all time.

Palworld has teamed up with Twitch as part of the Summer of Rewards event, offering three brand new Pal Skins for players on Steam. Theyâ€??™re bizarrely adorable cosmetics, and they’re relatively easy to?? get, but only as long as you play through Steam. 

This is proving to be something of a sticking point for players who play Palworld on Xbox, and honestly, I can see why. I wouldn’t have known that these drops were exclusive to Steam players from Palworld’s social media posts alone, as it’s not explicitly stated anywhere. I only figured it out for myself when I was asked to link my Twitch and Steam accounts through the Palworld website. 

Comments on social media are filled with Xbox players noting the unfairness of the whole situation, and I can’t say I blame them. Many players are missing out on unique Pal Skins because they play on the "wrong" platform. These are the first Pal Skins to drop outside of the single existing one, Cattiva Sunglasses, which was?? added as part of the Sakurajima update, and they're not available to everybody.

Palworld isn’t the only game giving items away in the Summer of Rewards event. Many other games give in-game items in return for watching streamers play. However, as far as I can tell, Palworld is the only one lim?iting t?heir drops in this fashion. 

Cult of the Lamb, which is also part of the Summer of Rewards, is also giving exclusive items to Steam players, but there’s a huge difference: The items are only exclusive to the single platform for now. The Goat-themed items are being given to Steam players as a sort of Early Access and will be coming to pla?yers on all other platforms at a later date. 

There have been no such reassurances from Pocketpair that players on any platform other than Steam can get the Pal Skins, and therein lies the problem. Here's hoping that Pal Skins, or any other potential future Tw??itch drops, are more inclusive of players.

If you’re a fan of Palworld and have an urge to squeeze your favorite Pal until they complain, then you’re in luck, especially if your favorite Pal happens to be Depresso, Cattiva, or Ch?illet. 

Pocketpair has released Palworld official plushes of the three aforementioned Pals, and they’re being sold through Aniplex, who have partnered with both Pocketpair and Sony Music to form Palworld Entertainment. 

Despite the difference in size of the Pals in-game, all of these plushes are 25cm (9.8 inches) tall and adorable, especially Depresso. The little Pal comes armed with his signature pickaxe, ready to mine all day without em??otion. 

These plushes are available to pre-order as long as you reside in one of the following l?ocations:

• USA
• Canada
• UK
• Ireland
• Australia
• New Zealand

However, stock is limited. Although there is no definite indication as to how many of each plush is available, it’s safe to say that if you want official Palworld pl??ushes you should pro??bably order soon. On the plus side, they’re reasonably priced at $26.99 USD each, so you won’t have to break the bank in order to have Depresso, Cattiva, or Chillet taking up residence in your home. 

These plushes come soon after the announcement from Palworld detailing that, at the time, no official plushes on the market, but official ones were coming soon. Of course, there are plenty of off-brand Palworld vendors out there, but if you want to show your supp??ort to Pocketpair, these are the plushes to get.

Hopefully, with the release of the Sakurajima update and many new Pals added to the game, these plushes will soon be joined by other favorites. I, for one, would love to have a Shroomer or Croajiro plush. Time will ??tell, but this i?s a good start for anyone wanting to start a collection.

With the Sakurajima update, Palworld players can now increase their maximum level from 50 to 55. As with all levels, these new ones come with additional items which can be unlocked through the Technology Ladder, but ther??e are also new lower level ones as? well.

If you’re sick of carrying around a bunch of keys around in your pocket in Palworld, one of the things added in the Sakurajima update is certa??in to please you. Lockpi?cking Tools come in three varieties, each one better than the last. 

How to make Lockpicking Tools in Palworld

Lockpicking Tools are unlocked using Ancient Technology Points, and can be unlocked at the following levels:

You must unlock the Lockpicking Tools in order, starting with the first and then moving on sequentia??lly. It’s definitely worth unlocking all of them, because eventually you will be able to simply craft the v3 version, without any need for the previous two versions at all.  All three versions of Lockpicking Tools can be crafted at a High Quality Workbench.

Lockpicking Tools v1, unlocked at level? 16, will unlock chests which would usuall??y require a Copper Key. They require the following resources to make:

• 10 Ingots

  • Made in any furnace using Ore

• 10 Paldium Fragments

  • Obtained from mining Paldium rocks, or by putting Stone into a crusher

• 5 Nails

  • Made at any workbench using Ingots

Lockpicking Tools v2 will unlock chests which usually require a Copper or Silver key to unlock. The recipe for Lockpicking Tools v2 simply double?s the resources of the previous version:

• 20 Ingots
• 20 Paldium Fragments
• 10 Nails

Finally, Lockpicking Tools v3 will allow you to unlock any chest, regardless of whether a Copper, Silver, o??r Gold key would usually be required. As such, the resources required to craft them are slightly harder to get:

• 30 Pal Metal Ingots

  • Made in an Electric Furnace by combining Ore and Paldium Fragments

• 30 Paldium Fragments
• 20 Nails

All you need to do to use any of the Lockpicking Tools is approach a locked chest and press the interact button. A Lockpick??ing Tool will be ??used in place of whichever key you would have needed.

One of the new weapons added to Palworld with the Sakurajima update is the relatively hard hitting Laser Rifle, along with its ammo, Energy Cartridges. These both unlock at level 51, so you won’t have to w?ait long before you can u??se them in battles against strong Pals.

Once you’ve managed to level up to level 51, you’ll be able to unlock both the Laser Rifle and Energy Cartridge recipes from the Technology Ladder. You’ll need a total of six Technology Points to do this, as the Rifle?? itself co??sts 5 and the Energy Cartridges cost 1. 

Everything you need to make the Laser Rifle and ammo in Palworld

Although not the hardest hitting weapon available post-update, due to the relatively low resource cost of Energy Cartridges, this is a good option if you’re looking for a relatively power?ful weapon when taking on overworld Pals. 

Before you can make a Laser Rifle, you’ll need to u??nlock the recipe for Plasteel. This unlocks at level 50, and the recipe is as follows:

• 5 Crude Oil

  • Dropped from certain Pals 

• 5 Paldium Fragments

  • Obtained through mining Paldium rocks

• 10 Ore

  • Obtained through mining brown rocks

How to make a Laser Rifle in Palworld

You can make a Laser Rifle at the Weaspon Assembly Line II, which unlocks at level level 47 using 5 Technology Points. As long as you have one of those, you can make a Laser Rifle usin?g the following resources:

• 50 Pal Metal Ingots

  • Made in an Electric Furnace by combining Ore and Paldium Fragments

• 60 Plasteel

  • Made using the recipe above

• 40 Carbon Fiber

  • Made at any Production Assembly Line by using either 2 Coal or 5 Charcoal

How to make Energy Cells in Palworld

E?nergy Cells are also made at the Weapon Assembly Line II and req??uire the following resources:

• 5 Electric Organs

  • Dropped from any Electric type Pal

• 1 Pal Metal Ingot

One of the new Pals added to Palworld with the Sakurajima ??update is an Electric and Dark dual-type variant of Helzephyr. This Pal can be pretty hard to track down, as it only spawns in a very specific and new area. Don't worry,? I've done the hunting so you can reap the reward. 

Once you’ve traveled west and found the island of Sakurajima, yo??u’ll want to head to the northern desert area of the island. This is the only place in Palpagos where you can find Helzephyr Lux. 

Where to find Helzephyr Lux in Palword, Sakurajima update

If you’re hoping to capture one, you’re going to have a bit of a fight on your hands. Helzephyr Lux are pretty powerful, and they really don’t like staying inside your Pal Sphere. I’d recommend taking some strong Ground type Pals to fight alongside you, and the best option for this by far is Anubis. 

As well as this, you’l??l want to have a good supply of high level Pal Spheres to throw at your weakened Helzephyr Lux. You’ll want Ultra Spheres, at the very least, but I’d recommend crafting and using some of the new Ultimate Spheres just to be safe. 

Once you’ve captured a Helzephyr Lux, you’ll be able to use it as a flying mount by crafting the Helzephyr Lux Saddle, which unlocks via the Technology Ladder at level 52 co??sting 3 Technology Points. To make it, you’ll need the following resources:

• 30 Leather
• 10 Plasteel
• 30 Electric Organs
• 60 Paldium Fragments

Once you’re mounted on your Helzephyr Lux, you’ll be able to make use of this Partner Skill “Wings of Thunderâ€? This adds Electric damage? to all of the at??tacks you use while mounted.

There are two new Pals in Palworld, thanks to the Sakurajima update, which were teased long before the update finally arrived. Shroomer and Shroomer Noct, the mushroom ha??t Pals, are mountable? and have a very useful Partner Skill. 

Both of these Pals have the same Partner Skill, but it is incredibly useful, especially if you struggle to keep your Pals happy and well cared for on your base. The Partner Skill, “Swooshy Sporesâ€?decreases the speed at which Palsâ€?Sanity Meter decreases as long as either Shroome??r or Shroomer Noct are on the base. 

How to find Shroomer in Palworld

Shroomer is a Grass type Pal which only spawns in one specific location, but what better location for a Pal wearing a mushroom as a hat than a forest of gia??nt mushrooms? 

Shroomer can be found in the Mushroom Wetland??s on the eastern side of Sakurajima Island, and they’re very common once you reach the area. Although they’re? all between level 40 and 50, they’re not too hard to beat. If you have a strong Fire type pal, it can make quick work of even the strongest Shroomer. 

Shroomers drop both Red Berries a??nd Mushrooms if killed or captured and if you want to use Shroomer as a mount, you’ll need these Mushrooms. After unlocking the Shroomer Saddle for 2 Technology Points at level 46, you’ll need the following resources to make one:

• 20 Leather
• 20 Mushrooms
• 30 Fiber
• 10 Refined Ingots
• 30 Paldium Fragments

How to find Shroomer Noct in Palworld

Once you’ve tracked down Shroomer, you’ll ha??ve a very easy time finding Shroomer Noct. All you need to do is wait for night to fall, and the purple tinted version of Shroomer will emerge in large numbers. 

Shroomer Noct is a dual-type Dark and Grass type Pal, so is capable of using attacks of both kinds. If killed or captured, it drops Venom Glands and Mysterious Mushro??oms, the latter of which you’ll need i??f you want to use Shroomer Noct as a mount. 

The Shroomer Noct Saddle unlocks at level 47 and costs 2 Technology Points. Once unlocked, you’ll need the following resources to craft one at ??a Pal Gear Workbench:

• 20 Leather
• 20 Mysterious Mushrooms
• 30 Fiber
• 10 Refined Ingots
• 30 Paldium Fragments

If you dive into Palworld after the Sakurajima update and decide to go dungeon diving, you’re likely to come across some very pretty giant Lotuses. If you’re wonderin?g what you’re supposed to be doing with these, I’m here to tell you that they’re actually incredibly useful. 

How to get Lotus Flowers in Palworld

If you're looking for Lotus Flowers, you'll need to spend some time diving in and out of dungeons around Palpagos.

Each lotus is availabl?e in two sizes - small (S) and large (L). Small Lotuses can be found in low level dungeons, wh??ile large ones can be found in high level dungeons, such as the new Sakura Cave. Each type of Lotus is a different color, so it’s easy to tell which kind you’re picking up. 

How to use Lotus Flowers in Palworld

Lotus flowers can be used at an Electric Medicine Workbench to craft a range of new and very helpful potions. These?? potions can be used to permanently increase your base stats for th?e following attributes:

• Attack
• Health
• Stamina
• Carrying Capacity
• Work Speed

The potions th??at can be created using Lotuses are split into two types: Remedies and Elixirs.

How to make Remedies and Elixirs in Palworld

Remedies are made using small Lotuses, and increase the corresponding stat by a small amount. You’ll need four small Lotuses per Remedy. Large Lotuses are used to create Elixirs, and you’ll need six large Lotuses per Elixir. Howeve??r, when an Elixir is used, it increases the corresponding stat by? a bigger amount, usually double the effect of a Remedy. 

The types of Remedies and Elixirs are as follows:

To make each Remedy or Elixir, you’ll also need a few other resources. These include specific Pal drop items, as well as a main ingredient which is shared between all Remedies or Elixirs. Remedies require Pal Fluids, whereas Elixirs require High-Quality Pal Oil.

While there are many new Pals added to Palworld with the Sakurajima update, there are a few which sta?nd out. One of these a new Alpha Pal o??n Sakurajima Island and a variant of a previously existing Pal â€?Menasting Terra. 

As an Alpha Pal, Menasting Terra spawns in a very specific location. You’ll find it wandering around the northern rocky area of Sakurajima Island, under a familiar giant statue of Anubis. The easiest way to get there is by heading to the Northern Rocky Area fast travel point, provided that you have it unlocke??d, and travelin?g west.

Where to find Menasting Terra in Palward, alpha pal guide

While it is a level ?54, and therefore designed specifically to give you a tough fight, Menasting Terra can be overcome surprisingly easy. In an experiment (and absolutely not because I ran out of ammunition) I took it on with just a Sword. Although it took me a long?? time, I did manage to whittle down its health and capture it without too much fuss. 

To make the battle easier on yourself, I’d suggest taking some high-level Grass type Pals, such as Warsect or the newly added Quivern Botan. Grass types are strong against Ground types, so they’re your best be?t to get this fight over and done with quickly. ??;

While it is entirely possible to complete this battle with a Sword in hand, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s a much better idea to stock up on ammunition for your chosen weapon and head to its location fully stocked. On the plus side, if you do manage to take Menasting Terra down, it drops both Crude Oil and Flame Organs.

Once captured, Menasting Terra can be a good addition to your base provided you have enough space for it to move around. It has level 3 mining skill and level 2 lumbering skill. Menasting Terra may?? be better?? as part of your party. 

The Terra variant of Menasting has the same Partner Skill as the regular Menasting, “Steel Scorpionâ€? Not only does this skill cause Electric type Pals to drop more items when killed, ??it also increases your defense as long as Menasting or its Ground type cousin are in your party.

Selyne is one of the new Pals added to Palworld as part of the Sakurajima update. It’s the star of the new Moonflower Tower, where it fights alongside Saya. There is a way to capture Selyne outside of the tower, but?? the bad news is that you can?’t control it. 

One of the new features added to Palworld in the Sakurajima update is Meteorites. These chunks of space rock fall from the sky and land close-by, allowing you to go and mine large numbers of Meteorite Fragments. That’s not all you can get, though.?? 

Where to find Selyne in Pa

Whenever a Meteor falls from the sky, it brings a rare Pal with it. The Pal the Metori falls with depends on where you were when the Meteorite fell. In order to capture Selyne, you’ll need to get lucky and be on Sakurajima Island when a Meteorite falls, because this is the only place Selyne will appear outside of Moonflower Tower. 

Some other Pals which can appear during Meteorit??e events include Xenovander, which can appea??r in any location, and Xenogarde, which only appears if a Meteorite falls in the Dessicated Desert.

Selyne is a Dark and Neutral dual-type Pal, and can be ridden as a mount after making the corresponding saddle. It’s a surprisingly good base Pal, boasting level 3 work suitability in Handiwork, Medicine Production, and Transporting. When killed or captured, Selyne can drop Cloth, Sapphires, and Precious Claws. 

Selyne’s Partner Skill, Celesti??al Darkness, will enhance Fire and Dark type damage while being used as a mount. With all of these benefits, Selyne is definitely worth capturing if you can manage it.

Mysterious Mushrooms are a new resource added to Palworld as part of the Sakurajima updat??e, and if you want to use a certain Pal as a mount, you’ll need to gather them. However, it’s not immediately clear ?where they come from.

You’ll need 20 Mysterious Mushrooms if you want to craft a Shroomer Noct Saddle, allowing you to mount up on Shroomer N?oct and ride the derpy, majestic mushroom-hat Pal into battle. 

How to get Mysterious Mushrooms in Palworld

Unfortunately, the old adage “you can’t make an omelette without cracking eggs�rings true with this resource, because the only way to gather Mysterious Mushrooms in Palworld is by killing ??(or capturing, if you’re feeling benevolent) some Shroomer Noct. 

Thankfully, this nocturnal cousin of Shroomer is pretty easy? to find. Once you’ve found Shroomer in its natural Mushroom Wetlands habitat, you’ll just have to wait until night-time for its purple tinted kin to emerge.&n??bsp;

If you’re lucky, you might also find Mysterious Mushrooms in Junk Piles occasionally. If you’re hoping to gather your Mushrooms this way, you’ll need to head to higher level areas such as? the Astral Mountains or the new island of Sakurajima, as th??ese Junk Piles offer higher level items as rewards.

How to use Mysterious Mushrooms in Palworld

Mysterious Mushrooms are used to craft the Shroomer Noct Saddle. This piece of Pal Gear can be unlocked upon reaching level 47 and costs 2 Technology Points. 

After obtaining the following resources, the Shroome??r Noct Saddle can be c?rafted at a Pal Gear Workbench:

• 20 Leather
• 20 Mysterious Mushrooms
• 30 Fiber
• 10 Refined Ingots
• 30 Paldium Fragments

If you’re itching for a challenging fight in Palworld, the Sakurajima update has provided plenty of h?igher level Pals to test your mettle. One of these Pals, Knocklem, can only be found in one very specific location. 

Knocklem can be found on the new island of Sakurajima as an overworld Alpha Pal. After the update, it’s now the highest level Alpha Pal you can possibly fight and it ??truly gives far better than it gets. Hard hitting and absolutely massive, taking on Knocklem is not for the faint of heart. 

Where to find Knocklem in Palworld

To find Knocklem, you’ll need to head to the southern part of Sakurajima. The easiest way to do this is by heading to the Forgotten Island fast travel point and heading northwest.?? Once you’re there, make sure to unlock any fast travel poi?nts you encounter on the island itself. 

Fly west along the desert region in the south of Sakurajima island, carefully because there are some vicious Menastings and Toco Toco here who will gladly take you out, and you’ll come across a cavern in the cliff. You’ll ??need? to fly into this cavern if you want to take on Knocklem.

At the end of this cavern, you’ll find Knocklem after a sheer drop, down in the wate??r. Be careful if you're not ready to fight it just yet, Knocklem will start to attack even if you're just flying over, so keep your distance if you're curious. 

Like I said, Knocklem is massive and hits very hard. I’d re??commend taking your strongest Pals with you as well as hard hitting weapons, such as a Laser Rifle or Missile Launcher. If you want to capture Knocklem, I’d suggest stocking up on Ultimate Spheres in order to maximize  your chances of a successful capture.

Of all the Pals in the entirety of Palworld, Chillet has become a fan favorite since the game released. Now, with the release of the Sakurajima update, Chillet has a new and much more pink variant â€?Ch?illet Ignis. 

Chillet Ignis is a Fire and Dragon dual-type Pal who is equal parts hard-hitting and adorable. To find them, you’re going to have to tr?avel to the new island of Sakurajima, where it spawns in select locations around the Cherry Blossom forests. 

Where to find Chillet Ignis in Palworld, Sakurajima map and locations

When you approach Chillet Ignis, rather than standing and ??fighting, the Pal will turn on its heel and run away. It’s surprisingly shy, but it’s worth chasing after one if you want a strong Pal. Theyâ€??™re pretty easy to defeat, especially if you wake a strong Water type Pal with you. 

Once captured, a Chillet Ignis can be used as a mount. To do this, you’ll need to unlock the Chillet Ignis Saddle at level 45, costing 2 Technology Points. After that, you’ll need the following resources to craft ??the saddle:

• 20 Leather
• 30 Fiber
• 10 Cloth
• 10 Flame Organs
• 30 Paldium Fragments

Chillet Ignisâ€?Partner Skill is called “Crackling Weaselâ€? and adds Fire type damage to all attacks when mounted. On your base, Chillet Ignis will? be able to help out with both Kindling and Gathering, although its stats aren’t impressive. It has a Kindling leve?l 3 and Gathering level 1. 

When killed or captured, Chillet Ignis will drop bot?h Leather a??nd Flame Organs.

Of all of the new Pals added to Palworld in the Sakurajima update, one has already become more beloved than any of the others â€?Croajiro. This frog-with-a-stick Pal is cute but deadly, and has a??n unexpectedly d?ark Paldeck entry. 

If you’re diving into Palworld with the hope of immediately sprinting out and capturing a Croajiro, you’re in luck. The frog ?Pal is pretty widespread, although mostly showing up in the lower level forest biome and on Sakurajima itself. 

Where to find Croajiro in Palworld, the Sakurajima update

The easiest place to catch Croajiro is in the area immediately surrounding the starting area in Palworld. The Croajiro here are relatively low level, and therefore easily caught using most types of Pal Spheres. Even fights with high level Croajiros are pretty easy to get through though, especially if you go armed with either hard-hitting weapons or a strong Electric type Pal. 

Croajiro isn’t a very strong addition to your Base, with level one Handiwork, Transporting, Watering, and Gathering skills. When killed or captured, it drops Pal Fluids and Cloth. A recently caught Croajiro wil??l have only Aqua Gun available to it as an attack.

However, two things make this Pal one to catch - the Paldeck entry, which is as amusing as it is dark, and the rather interesting ??Partner Skill. 

When Croajiro is accompanying you as you explore, using his Partner Skill will enable you to climb on top of him and be flung high into the air. This is particularly useful when trying to reach high areas, or if you want to use your Parachute to travel across a ??long distance.

There are a lot of Passive Skills in Palworld, giving Pals either a buff or making them slightly less effective in certain roles. With the Sakurajima update, we’re getting five new Passive Skills, and all of them are beneficial in one way or another.&nbs?p;

Whether you’re looking for a boost in Gold, or wanting to mount up and run for longer, th??ese new traits offer benefits across the board. If you capture Pals with these traits, it’s definitely worth hanging on to them.

Palworld Passive Skills added in Sakurajima

While none of? these Passive Skills are likely to change the way you play, I’m certain that there will be a whole new surge in Pal Breeding in order to get them in your party. Without further ado, here’s all the new Passive Skills being added to Palworld with the Sakurajima update:

Crude Oil is a new resource added to Palworld as part of the Sakurajima update. It can be hard to come across, but thankfully there ar??e a couple of ways to make the process pretty simple. 

Crude Oil is used in a lot of high level recipes, from Flamethrower Fuel to Plasteel, which is needed if you want to upgrade your armor to the latest and most protective set.?? Y??ou’re going to need a lot of Crude Oil, but how do you get it?

Most ways of getting Crude Oil are not guaranteed. It does drop from certain Pals, for instance I’ve obtained Crude Oil from both Maraith and Kikit during dungeon encounters, as well as in the wilds of Palpagos. You can also find Crude O??il during Supply Drops, or in ch??ests around the Oil Rig Stronghold.

The second method is a guaranteed way to get Crude Oil. Unfortunately, it does? involve something of a grind and placement is everything. But before you can ??do that, you're going to need a Large Generator.

How to build a Large Generator in Palworld

Basic Power Generators aren't powerful enough to power Crude Oil Extractors. Pals can't put enough power into them, even level 4 Generating Electricity Pals, and what power is put in is used within seconds once you place down a Crude Oil Extractor. Fortunately, there is a new Large Generator which has ?also been added as part of the Sakurajima upd?ate.

The Large Generato??r unlocks at level 4?9 and costs 4 Ancient Technology Points. To build one, you'll need the following resources:

• 200 Pal Metal Ingots

  • Made in an Electric Furnace using Ore and Paldium Fragments

• 200 Electric Organs

  • A possible drop from Electric type Pals, or purchased from Traveling Merchants across Palpagos

Once you've b??uild your Large Generator, it can be charged up by two Pals and? can hold much more power. For some extra help, it's also a good idea to place a Electric Pylon nearby, which unlocks at level 48.

How to build a Crude Oil Extractor in Palworld

The Crude Oil Extractor is vital if you want to get Crude Oil, especially in large quantities. To unlock the Crude Oil Extractor, you’ll need to reach at least level 50 before you can unlock it from the Technology Ladder using 2 Technology Points. 

After you’ve unlocked it, the grind begins. You’ll need t??he following resources to make a Crude Oil Extractor:

• 250 Pal Metal Ingots

  • Made in an Electric Furnace using Ore and Paldium Fragments

• 50 Circuit Boards

  • Made at a Production Line using Pure Quartz and Polymer 

After you’ve managed to hoard away these item??s, you can put down your Crude Oil Extractor. However, even that is not simple. 

Where to put a Crude Oil Extractor in Palworld

Crude Oil Extractors are useless if they can’t get you any oil, and if you try to place the Extractor down just anywhere, you’ll get notified that you can only put it down where oil is availab?le. 

To find a location for the Crude Oil Extractor, you can head to any of the outlying islands of Palpagos (Dessicated Desert, Mount Obsidian, or Astral Mountains) but the richest source of Crude Oil is Sakurajima Island. Located across the island are dark spots of land, shown above, which are your best bet f??or finding a vein of Crude Oil.

But you can’t put the Crude Oil Extractor ?just anywhere? here, either. You’ll need to locate a small raised circle of rocky earth with a bubbling black pool of oil in the middle. They look like this:

Once you’ve found one of these, it’s a good idea to build a base nearby so that you can safely place down your Extractor without worrying about deterioration. Having a base nearby also helps to transfer the necessary materials, because unless your maximum carrying capacity is over 1,600, you’re going to get over encumbered in the process. 

Once you’ve placed your Crude Oil Extractor, you’ll also need a Power Ge??nerator, as well as an Electric t?ype Pal to charge it. This does mean you’ll need to build at least one Pal bed to house them comfortably, but as soon as they’ve provided enough charge (approximately 5%), the Extractor will begin automatically gathering Crude Oil for you.

With the Sakurajima update to Palworld, players have a lot of items to unlock on the Technology Ladder. One of these items, the Homeward Thundercloud, puts an end to the frantic search for the nearest Fast Travel point, allowi?ng you to instantly return to your neares?t base. 

The Homeward Thundercloud is a consumable item in Palworld, meaning that you’ll use up one each time you use it. As such, it’s a good idea to stock up on the resources required and craft a bunch to use in emergencies, or i??f you’re simply too far from the nearest Fast Travel point. 

To unlock the recipe for the Homeward Thundercloud, you’ll need to reach level 30 and it costs 2 Ancient Technology Points to unlock. 

How to make a Homeward Thundercloud in Palworld

To make a Homeward Thun??dercloud, you’ll need the following resources:

• 1 Dazzi Cloud

  • Dropped from Dazzi when killed or captured

• 5 Electric Organs

  • Also a possible drop from Dazzi, as well as the following Pals:

    • Beakon
    • Rayhound
    • Grizzbolt
    • Mossanda Lux
    • Helzephyr Lux
    • Relaxaurus Lux
    • Jolthog
    • Orserk
    • Sparkit
    • Univolt

• 2 Ancient Civilization Parts

  • Obtained through completing Dungeons or encounters with Alpha Pals. Occasionally found in overworld chests.

Once you’ve gathered your resources, you can craft a Homeward Thundercloud a?t the following crafting stations:

• High Quality Workbench
• Production Assembly Line
• Production Assembly Line II

How to use a Homeward Thundercloud in Palworld

Once you’ve got a Homeward Thu??ndercloud in your inventory, all you need to do it right click on it to use it. This will prompt a pop-up box to appear, asking you to confirm whether you want to return to base. 

After selecting Confirm, the Homeward Thundercloud will be consumed and a small animation will play in which your character hops onto a physical Thundercloud. After a brief “charging upâ€?period, the cloud will shoot into the air and you’ll ??be returned to your closest base. 

Homeward Thunderclouds can be used during battle in the overworld, though not while fighting the Tower Boss Duos or within Dungeons.

If there’s one thing that is incredibly useful in Palworld, it’s items which heal you or your Pals. In order to make some of these items, you’re going to need to stock up?? on Cavern Mushrooms, which are a vital i??ngredient. 

Cavern mushrooms can be found in any Dungeon throughout Palpagos, including the new Sakura Cave on Sakurajima. They’re light green in color and glow, so you can spot them from a distance as you’re running through the dar?k. 

They can also be found occasionally inside Mineshafts, either en route to a hidden Alpha Pal or a Black Marketeer. 

Although this resource is fairly easy to find, you’re going to need? a lot of them if you want to create the highest quality Recovery Meds, ??which use 10 Cavern Mushrooms per craft. It’s definitely worth taking a little extra time during Dungeon runs to explore everywhere and pick up all of the Cavern Mushrooms you can find.

One of the new and exciting things added to Palworld with the Sakurajima update was the Oil Rig Stronghold. This high-level raid type are??a is not only a challenge to navigate once there, but it can also be difficult to find, as it’s a relatively small part of the map. 

In order to make your way to the Oil Rig, the quickest route is via the Marsh Island fast travel point, followed by a quick trip south-west. 

Palworld map: Where to find the Oil Rig

However, approaching th??e Oil Rig is not an easy thing to do. I first tried to ap?proach on a flying mount and it did not end well for me, with my mount passed out and me having a very long swim back to shore. Even at a distance, I was attacked with very powerful lasers. 

In my following attempts, I found that the best way to get there is by using a swimming mount, such as Azurobe or Jormuntide. I also found it easier to approach while avoiding detection by traveling south from the Eastern Wild I??sland fast travel point. Although this is a much longer trip, they didn’t seem to notice me appr?oaching from this direction. 

Once you’ve made it to the? Oil Rig, you’re going to have a battle on your hands. While you ?can overcome the challenge solo, I’d strongly recommend taking a few friends with you to make the process much easier. The Thugs here are all level 55, and have very strong Pals on their side. 

As such, it’s a good idea to only head to the Oil Rig once you’ve unlocked some higher damage weapons, stocked up on ammunition, and have all of your Pals t??rained up with ?higher damage attacks via Skill Fruits.

With the new resource of Crude Oil added to Palworld, you may be wondering how you’re supposed to fit everything you need into one base. Don’t worry, along with the player max level increase, your base level can also reach new highs. 

So far, players have been able to cap out their base at level 20. After reaching level 15, players are then able to place down a third base somewhere in?? Palpagos. However, with the Sakurajima update, this maximum base level is increased to 25 and upon achieving that level, a fourth base will become available.?? 

Adding a fourth base in Palworld

Here’s what you’ll need ??to make to upgrade each extra le?vel:

What you do with that base is up to you, but with the addition ??of both Coal and Sulfur mines for your base, there’s not much need to spread your bases across Palpagos unless you’re planning to use them for easy teleportation to remote areas. 

It might be a good idea to set up a dedicated mining base, where you can place down all of the differen?t mines, allowing for easy storage and collection of resources. This will also clear up some space at your main base for buildings, allowing you to explore the new Glass building type. 

The best use that I can think of for?? this additional base is a dedicated raiding base, which can be placed down before calling do??wn a raid boss at an Altar. Palboxes aren’t very resource heavy things to build, meaning that you can always carry the necessary resources with you and set up a base whenever you need one.

With the release of the Sakurajima update in Palworld, a lot of new Pal Skills have been added into the game, boosting your battles with new attacks. Some of these are Pal specific attacks??, while others can be obtained using Skill Fruits. 

Pal specific Skils in Palworld

With a lot of new Pals added to Palworld, you would be forgiven for thinking that these new Pal specific skills would be given to new Pals. However, these new skills are spread across a few of the original Pals. 

These skills will not be present on the Pals that you already have in your Palbox. In order to get Pals with these skills, you’ll need to capture new ones. For Pals? that have a variant (such as Chillet Ignis or Menasting Terra), these skills will be present on the variant Pal as well as the regular Pal. 

Skills gained from Skill Fruits

With the Sakurajima update, there are a long list of new Skills added to Palworld which can be obtained and given to Pals through Skill Fruits. To find them, you’ll need to pluck Skill Fruit from special trees around Palpagos, or find them in chests and Junk Piles?? across the map. 

The??se skills can also be present on captured Pals??, though this is rare.

One of the stranger things added to Palworld with the Sakurajima update was the Pal Dressing Facility. This buildable o??bject for your base will allow you to dress up your pals in skins. 

Currently, there is only one skin available in Palworld �Sunglasses Cattiva. PocketPair has promised the ad??dition of further skins moving ?forward, though there is no confirmation as to how these skins will be obtained. These skins can be applied through building and interacting with the Pal Dressing Facility. 

How to build a Pal Dressing Facility in Palworld

The Pal Dressing Facility unlocks at level one, alongside more useful items such as the Medieval Workbench and various tools. Thankfully, the Facility doesn’t use up many resources, so your Pals can look cool right from the start. 

Here’s the recipe for the Pal Dressing Facility:

• 10 Stone

  • Obtained through mining plain rocks

• 10 Paldium Fragments

  • Obtained through mining Paldium rocks or by putting stone in a Crusher

How to use the Pal Dressing Facility in Palworld

As I said, there’s only one skin available current??ly, so I? will use that as the example moving forwards. 

Upon interacting with the Dressing Facility, you’ll see a list of Pals which have av??ailable skins. Clicking on one of these Pals will bring up a list of possible s??kins for that pal:

After choosing which skin you want to apply, in t??his case Sunglasses Cattiva, your Palbox will open and you’ll be able to apply your chosen skin to one of your Pals. 

After applying the skin, your Pal will be wearing it whether they’re part of your party, working on your Base, or oth??erwise j?ust stored away within the Palbox. 

To remove a skin from any pal, open up the Dressing Facility again and select the Pal, then the skin and click on the ??Pal inside your Palbox to remove the skin.

The Sakurajima update was promised as being Palworld’s biggest update yet and boy, they weren’t wrong. With everything from new Pals to an Oil?? Rig Stronghold, there’s certainly no shortage of new things to experience when the update goes live on June 27.&nbs?p;

There are a lot of things to look forward to with the update. Rather than drag it out, let’s look at everything coming to Palworld with the Sakurajima update.

Sakurajima Island

Home to a whole new faction, the Moonflowers, Sakurajima island seems to have appeared out of nowhere. Players will now be able to explore the Mushroom Wetlands, deserts and Cherry Blossom forests of the island and encounter a lot of brand new Pals. There’s also a brand new Tower here, where players can battle Saya and Selyne. 

PvP Arena

This multiplayer exclusive? content is accessible via a small island off the coast of the Desiccated Desert. You can pick a team of up to three Pals to battle it out against friends. The PvP Arena can be fou??nd off the eastern coast of the existing map.

Oil Rig Stronghold

Not something Iâ€??™d recommend you try to take on solo, the Oil Rig Stronghold is full of very high-level Pals and humans alike. With multiple different gun placements which need to be taken out at the same time, the Oil Rig can be quite overwhelming. On the plus side, there is a lot of valuable loot to be found on the Rig, if you survive long enough. 

Other updates coming to Palworld

• Meteorite and Supply Crate events

  • Items will fall from the sky, bringing precious resources and, sometimes, rare Pals

• Monster Nests have been added

  • These random events can occur anywhere and feature a large nest surrounded by a large group of one Pal species. Defeating these Pals will allow you to pick up resources, and three eggs which will hatch into the same type of Pal that surrounded the nest. 

• New Raid - Blazamut Ryu

  • Blazamut Ryu Slabs can be found in high level dungeons, alongside Bellanoire Libero Slabs

• Junk Piles have been added

  • Rummaging through these will provide players with items. Junk Piles in higher level areas will reward more valuable items

• Player level cap raised to 55
• Many new Pals have been added, most of which appear on Sakurajima Island
• Multiple new Technology items to unlock with Technology or Ancient Technology Points
• Maximum base level has increased from level 20 to level 25

  • Increasing your base level to 25 will unlock a fourth base

• Pal Capture Bonus, increased using Lifmunk Effigies, has increased from 10 to 12
• Many new Lifmunk Effigies to be found around Palpagos
• Crude Oil has been added as a resource

  • This is mined from Crude Oil spots, or as a drop from certain Pals

• Dog Coins have been added, a new currency which can be exchanged with Medal Merchants for rare items
• Seven new high-level weapons have been added
• Six NPC cosmetic hats have been added, allowing you to dress up like Tower Bosses
• 11 Pal cosmetic hats have been added, purchased from a Medal Merchant

• A setting has been added which will prevent automatic pick up of items if it will over encumber the player

• On multiplayer servers, chests can be locked by individual players to prevent thefts by other players
• You can now permanently assign Pals to individual work stations through the Pal Monitoring Stand
• Many more custom map markers have been added, and the maximum that can be placed on the map at any one time has been increased to 300

  • Allows you to sort Pals by work suitability

One problem faced by all Palworld players at one point or another is over encumberance. Well, some it?ems added in the Sakurajima update are set to change this, and they’re surprisingly easy to make.&??nbsp;

Burden Remedy and Burden Elixir are two new types of potion which can be crafted at an Electric Medicine Workbench. Both of these items promise to increase the maximum carrying capacity of a player permanently, with Burden Elixir giving the biggest ?boost. 

How to make Burden Remedy in Palworld

The hardest part of getting your hands on these potions is getting your hands on the resources, and you’ll need to go dungeon diving to gather these resources. Once you’ve got them and you’ve brewed  your po?tions, you can use them from within your inventory to increase your carrying capacity. 

Outside of crafting them, there are a couple of other ways to get these Remedies and Elixirs - they sometimes come included in a Supply Drop, or you can othe??rwise purchase them using Dog Coins. 

Burden Remedy increases your maximum carrying capacity by 50 per?manently. To make it, you’ll need the fo??llowing resources:

• 4 Carrying Lotus (S)

  • Found in lower level Dungeons

• 3 Swee Hair

  • Dropped by Swee when killed or captured

• 2 Cotton Candy

  • Dropped by Woolipop when killed, captured, or placed into the Ranch

• 2 Pal Fluids

  • Dropped by multiple Pals when killed or captured

How to make Burden Elixir in Palworld

Burden Elixir? in??creases your maximum carrying capacity by 100, so it’s definitely worth grinding for the resources required:

• 6 Carrying Lotus (L)

  • Found in higher level Dungeons

• 3 Leezpunk Crests

  • Dropped by Leezpunk or Leezpunk Ignis when captured or killed

• 2 Raw Damud

  • Dropped by Damud when killed or captured

• 2 High Quality Pal Oil

  • Dropped by numerous pals when killed or captured

One of the most exciting things coming to Palworld with the Sakurajima update is the island of Sakurajima itself. This massive new island is filled with new pals, as well as some familiar faces, and some other new battles to face while yo??u’re there. 

If you're loo??king to expand your horiz?ons in Palpagos, here's where to find the Sakurajima area in Palworld.

Sakurajima's map: Moonflower Tower, Southern Sandbar, more

Sakurajima is a whole new huge island located on the western side of the map, to the north of Mount Obsidian and west of the Astral Mountains. There is a lot to do and many new places to explore. The easiest way to travel to Sakurajima is by traveling to either of the following Fast Travel points and using a flying mount to travel west:

• Ice Wind Island
• Pristine Snow Field

The island itself is made up of different areas, with Arid desert-like areas to both the North and South shores, Mushroom Wetlands to the East, and Cherry Blossom forests in the middle. Exploring these areas, you’ll come across many of the newly added Pals, including both Croajiro and Chillet Ignis. 

There are a total of seven Fast Travel points (i?ncluding the one at the top of Moonflower Tower) ?to be unlocked on Sakurajima:

1. Sakurajima: Southern Sandbar
2. Cemetery on the Outskirts of the Island
3. Sakurajima: Northern Rocky Area
4. Branching Road to Cherry Blossoms
5. Sakurajima: Mushroom Wetlands
6. Moonflower Tower Entrance
7. Moonflower Tower

Once you get to the island, you’ll face off against new enemies as well as Pals. Here, rather than the usual groups of Syndicate Thugs that you’re used to, you'll encounter groups of Moonflower Jonin, Genin and Ronin. These new human enemies move very quickly and can be troublesome, but aren’t too difficult to overcome once you’ve got a lock on them. They’re also good practise in preparation for taking on Moonflower Tower, where you’ll go to battle against the new Tower Boss Duo, Saya and Selyne.

There’s also a new Dungeon type on Sakurajima, Sakura Cave, the inside of which is heavily inspired by classic Japanese architecture. At level 52, these Dungeons can be hard to get through but you’re guaranteed to get one of the newly added Pals as the final boss, and also at least one slab for both Bellanoire Libero and Blazamut Ryu in the final chest, as well as other very ??useful items.

There were a lot of new Pals added into Palworld as part of the Sakur??ajima update and none of them are more worth catchin?g than Mimog. The problem is, Mimog is incredibly irritating to try and capture, but I’ve worked out a trick. 

Although it is hard to catch, getting your hands on a Mimog is definitely worth it. Not only do they drop huge amounts of Gold and Dog Coins, but they also have what might be the most useful Partner Skill of any Pal �"Unlock". While Mimog is accompanying you, you will be able to access locked Treasure Chests without a key.

When you first come across ?a Mimog, it will simply be chilling in the sunshine, pretending to be a treasure chest as Mimics are known to do. Howeve??r, upon attacking it, you won’t be immediately dragged into a fight. Instead, the Mimog will flee at lightning speed, and if you’re not quick, you’ll immediately lose sight of it and have a very hard time finding it again. You essentially become Wile E. Coyote chasing after Road Runner.

How to catch a Mimog in Palworld

If you’re hoping to catch a Mimog, my advice is to perform your first attack while mounted on a suitably fast mount. Some good options are:

• Frostallion
• Jetragon
• Fenglope

You’ll need to attack the Mimog and then immediately chase after it, making sure to keep an eye on whe?re the very fast Pal shoots off to. 

Where to find Mimog in Palworld

Thankfully, with spawn p??oints all over Palpagos, Mimog isn’t all that hard to fin?d in the first place. They can be found in the same areas in both the day and night, although they appear in the southern half of the Dessicated Desert at night time as well as the north. 

Of course, the further you go away from the starting point of Palworld, the higher level the Mimog will be and the harder they’ll be to catch. It might be a good idea to hunt for lower level Mimogs in the forest biome of Palpagos, in the hopes that you can avoid fighting it at all and simply throw a suitably high level Pal Sphere to capture it without a battle.
