Pokemon TCG Pocket has plenty of quests to complete, and the? Secret Missions are arguably one of the hardest ones to ?finish.

In fact, you'll encounter one that lets you unlock a Mew card to add to your collection. But there's a total? of seven missions that can be completed as well. Each one of them requires you to collect certain cards, and they can fetch you some amazing rewards. Let's take a look at all the missions that are currently available, and how you can compl?ete them.

All Secret Missions in Pokemon TCG Pocket

The basic method to complete a Secret Mission in Pokemon TCG Pocket is to open packs. You'll need certain cards for each of the following seven tasks, so opening packs is the easiest thing you can do. Of course, you can a??lso rely on wonderpicks, but packs are the way to go.

Tasks How to Complete Rewards
Complete the Kanto Pokedex Collect all 151 Kanto region Pokemon cards (only basic items) Mew
The Gym Leaders of Kanto Region 2 Collect the following Full Art cards: Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Erika, Koga, Sabrina, Blaine, and Giovanni x48 Wonder Hourglass + x12 Pack Hourglass + x12 Shop Tickets
Genetic Apex Museum 1 (Chariard) Collect the following Full Art cards: Gloom, Pinsir, Charmander, Rapidash, Lapras, Alakazam, Slowpoke, and Meowth x36 Wonder Hourglass + x12 Pack Hourglass + x10 Shop Tickets
Genetic Apex Museum 2 (Mewtwo) Collect the following Full Art cards: Bulbasaur, Cubone, Golbat, Weezing, Dragonite, Pidgeot, Ditto, and Porygon x36 Wonder Hourglass + x12 Pack Hourglass + x10 Shop Tickets
Genetic Apex Museum 3 (Pikachu) Collect the following Full Art cards: Squirtle, Eevee, Snorlax, Gyarados, Electrode, Diglett, Nidoqueen, and Nidoking x36 Wonder Hourglass + x12 Pack Hourglass + x10 Shop Tickets
The Immersive 4 Collect the following Full Art cards: Charizard EX, Mewtwo EX, and Pikachu EX x48 Wonder Hourglass + x12Pack Hourglass + x20 Shop Tickets
The Legendary Flight Continues Collect the following Full Art cards: Articuno EX, Zapdos EX, and Moltress EX x48 Wonder Hourglass + x12Pack Hourglass + x20 Shop Tickets

You will want to open all three types of packs, as the required cards can be found in them. Make sure to use the hourglasses you get, as they will help you to open more pa??cks in less? time.

It's more than likely that new Secret Missions might get added to Pokemon TCG Pocket in the future. We wi??ll update this guide duly with all up?dated information in that case.

Since Pokemon TCG Pocket is still fairly new, we only have three booster pack types to open at the time, but which one of the?m has the best stuff? Is it the Pikachu pack, the Mewtwo pack, or the Charizard pack?

We’ll explain which the best one i??s below and why that? is.

Best booster pack in Pokemon TCG Pocket (TCGP)

In short, the best booster pack of the three to open most in Pokemon TCG Pocket is the Mewtwo Genetic Apex one. It contains some of the stronges??t cards that are exceptionally strong when battling other opponents online.

However, if you are a player just starting fresh, it’s best to start with the Charizard p?acks. These packs provide?? an easier transition from the start to the earlier late-game Solo Battles.

Once you can s??tart beating the Advanced level of the Solo battles, you should then start buying the Mewtwo packs. You can create some fairly strong Psychic deck??s that include Gengar EX, Gardevoir, and of course, Mewtwo.

You also have other hard hitters for their own damage types like Venusaur EX with grass decks which will go exceptionally well with Exeggutor EX if you?? had pulled that from the Charizard packs.

We also can’t forget Articuno with water decks. It’s a menace and can soften up fully b??enched decks, esp??ecially when paired with a decent Misty roll.

Is the Pikachu pack worth it at all?

Just because the Mewtwo pack has many heavy hitters doesn’t mean you sho??uld write off the Pikachu pack entirely.

Those packs do have Pikachu EX and Zapdos EX which are excellent sweepers. It’s just that the other two decks provide mo??re diversity than just a few super-rare electric Pokemon. It’ll be important to have more decks of different types so that you won’t easily be countered every time you battle someone online.

Pokemon TCG Pocket offers you differe??nt ways t??o get cards, and Mew is one of those rare items that can be unlocked for free without having to open any packs.

Usually, getting a? full art card is very difficult inside the game, as you're relying on your pack luck. That's where the Mew item feels different - it's one of those rare full art cards that have no essence of luck at all. However, the game doesn't exactly tell you on your face about how to get this specific card. That said, it's relatively easy, and you can get your hand on the item pretty quickly.

How to get Mew in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Mew's full art card is a reward for completing your Kanto dex. In simpler words, you can find the card by obtaining all 150 Kanto cards that are currently available in Pokemon TCG Pocket. The best way to do this is by opening all three types of Genetic Apex packs available inside the store - Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Charizard.

For more clarification, you'll only want the basic cards of the 150 Pokemon, which are far easie??r to pull. These cards also have higher odds of being pulled from the packs, which will certainly help the cause.

How to get Mew for free in Pokemon TCG Pocket

As the main objective is to complete your dex, you'll want to open as many packs as possible. That means using all the pack hourglasses as well, which can accumulate by compl??eting different activities. You'll also want to open all three packs, as completing the dex otherwise won't be possible.

Make sure to be on the lookout for W?onder Picks as well, as they can help you to complete your collection faster. Sure, you'll stil??l be relying on your luck, but try to use them on packs that consist of more items not present in your collection.

Having the Premium Pass also helps, but I won't consider that as free since you'll need to spend $10 every month to avail yourself of its benefits. But what you can use for free are your Pack Points, and use these items as your trump card. Don't spend them on the cards immediately - wait for how your collection looks like once you've completed 130-140 Pokemon cards. That w??ay, you won't have to depend on your luck to complete the remainder of your collecti?on.

That's pretty much it when it comes to obtaining Mew in Pokemon TCG Pocket. While the card looks gorgeous, it? can hardly be considered as the current meta.

Pokemon TCG Pocket is not one of those card games where getting a duplicate card holds much merit, but you can certainly add some flair to them to help them stand out (quite literally). Hence you may be wondering how to get flair on your cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Getting multiple copies of a card in digital card games is often considered an essential part, but the new release from The Pokemon Company has a friendlier economy. That said, you'll end up with duplicates of cards that yo??u already have. Doing so will help you make your cards look unique and add a dash of coolness to them.

How to obtain flair in Pokemon TCG Pocket

For starters, go to the My Cards section, whi??ch has a list ??of all your available cards.

  • Select the "Obtain Flair" button.
  • The next step will prompt you to the requirements of duplicate items and Shinedust (you get this resource by pulling duplicate copies of a card you already found in a previous pack).
  • For lower Diamond rarity items, you'll need to apply the first cosmetic flair option before you can opt for the battle options.
  • Higher star rarity cards will have the battle flair unlocked by default once you have adequate resources in terms of Shinedust and duplicates.

The requirements also change based on the rarity of a card. Those having lower rarity will need more duplicates and less Shinedust. Rarer cards like Pikachu EX will need more Shinedust, but you'll need only one duplicate. All cards at rarity 3 diamonds or above will need one extra copy to unlock their flair (along w??ith Shinedust).

Once unlocked, you can equip the flair for the card from your deck section. Cards with flair will?? have a small icon on their screen - just press on it ??to apply the available flair option.

While adding flair to your cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket is really cool, it's pur??ely a cosmetic effect. There are no in-game advantages for cards with flair, so don't stress too much about it. By opening packs regularly, you'll eventually end up with enough duplicates and Shinedust to unlock flair for several of your favorite cards.

There is no doubt?? that EX cards have a special place in the hearts of Pokemon TCG Pocket players, and some of them have unraveled a new way to gain some of these powerful items from their packs.

Based on the available odds, finding an EX card is pretty tricky, and you'll really need to be lucky to find one inside your pack. However, some players seem to have unearthed a way to increase their chances of finding an EX ?card reportedly.

Pokemon TCG Pocket players are relying on folded crimped packs to get EX cards

Packs in Pokemon TCG Pocket have the same appearance inside the game as they do in real life. You can turn the pack to see its sides,?? and there appears to be a technique for you to reportedly improve your chan?ces of getting some of those shiny cards from your packs.

Several gamers are turning the packs to the side to look out for packs with crimped tops. Usually, each lot of pack has one (at least in my own experience), and their top parts have a ?bend. If you look carefully, they're pretty easy to spot. There are numerous instances where players have found an EX card from them. In certain cases, players have ended up with rarer items lik??e Full Art cards, along with Trainer Items.

Here's o??ne such instance where someone ends up with Mewtwo EX from th??eir pack, which is one of the best items currently available in the game. Of course, the results are random, and the method doesn't guarantee an EX.

//twitter.com/SteeloAndKri/status/1852400344690766183

In fact, I have tried the method eight times so far, but my luck has been pretty poor as ??far as getting EX cards is concerned. However, I have ended up finding 4 Full Arts from them, so that's definitely better than my usual pack luck.

Of course, there's no way to tell if there's a glitch in Pokemon TCG Pocket as of writing. For the time being, however, I ?see no harm in trying to look out for the packs with a folded crimp. If it doesn't work, you don't lose anything. If it works like it has for many players, you'll be adding an incredible pack to your collection.

If you've tried this method and found Pikachu EX, make sure to check out this fantastic deck that will give you plenty of wins.

The Premium Pass in Pokemon TCG Pocket is a ha?ndy choice for those who, like Ash, want to "Catch 'em all."

But unlike the anime, you'll have to shell out extra money if you want to quicken your in-game progression. To be more precise, you'll have to spend $10 every month if you're looking at getting the Premium Pass. Since Pokemon TCG Pocket is a free-to-play title, there's always a question of whether ?spending any real-life money is actually worth it.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Premium Pass content

So, it's clear ?that we have to pay $9.99 per month to get the be?nefits of the pass. But what do we get in return?

  • One extra daily pack, totaling 30 if you manage to log in once every day.
  • Monthly premium missions.
  • Access to the Premium shop, which lets you get special cards and accessories in exchange for Premium Tickets.

If you manage to complete all the premium missions (which is pretty easy to do), you'll get a total of 11 pack Hourglasses, eight Wonder Hourglasses, and 29 Premium Tickets. For comparison, if you ??were to spend the same money on the "Release Celebration" sale, you'd get 72 Poke Gold. One Poke Gold will help to reduce the waiting time for a pack by two hours. Hence, you'll need six Poke Gold to grant a pack and a total of 12 packs.

Hence, spending the same amount on the Premium Pass is a far better way to spend if you want to do so. The only benefit of getting the Poke Gold is immediate access to the extra packs. Unless you're in desperate need of new cards, the Premium Pass is perhaps the best way to spend money on Pokemon TCG Pocket.

That said, you can simply play for free, as Pokemon TCG Pocket isn't your typical digital TCG. While there is PvP, the game doesn't have a ranked mode. The lack ?of a progres??sion system means that you can enjoy the game casually, and for that, having a meta deck isn't necessary.

As long as you remember to log in daily to the game and complete the missions, the Premium Pass is well worth buying inside the game. Opening 30 extra packs over a month can help build up your collection nicely and let you build more decks.

Pikachu is certainly one of the best EX Pokemon to pack in the early days of Pokemon TCG Pocket, and y?ou can build a pretty awesome deck with it.

Unlike the? traditional formats of paper Pokemon TCG, Pocket is far more streamlined. While this makes deckbuilding easier, you'll still need to strategize based on the cards in your collection. To win consistently, you'll have to prepare a deck?? that has synergy among each other. The following Pikachu EX deck not only has that, but it also offers you plenty of scope to outthink your opponent.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Pikachu EX deck guide

Packing Pikachu can be a matter of luck as it's an EX card. The odds of finding one aren't very high, but you do get plenty of them if you're opening all your packs regularly. In ?f?act, several cards on this deck can be obtained by clearing the tutorial challenges and missions.

Let's first take a look at the card??s I have? used in my Pikachu deck.

  • 2x Blitzle
  • 2x Helioptile
  • 1x Voltorb
  • 2x Heliolisk
  • 2x Zebstrtika
  • 1x Electrode
  • 1x Meowth
  • 1x Pikachu EX
  • 1x Zapdos
  • 1x Potion
  • 1x X Speed
  • 2x Poke Ball
  • 2x Professor's Research
  • 1x Sabrina

Note: You can use a card like Chansey in place of Zapdos, but it's not an essential p?art of the deck.

The rarest cards currently in Pokémon TCG Pocket
Screenshot by Destructoid

The card you'll want to open with is Meowth. It's the only non-??electric card on this deck, and his ability to consistently draw cards is fantastic. You'll also chip away your opponent's health, but the main objective is?? to draw as many cards as possible. You can either sacrifice it or retreat it quickly with the help of X Speed.

If you don't get Meowth in your opening hand, don't even put it on the bench. Pikachu EX does 30 damage for every Electric Pokemon on the bench. The idea is to do 90 damage every turn, and Meowth on ??the bench doesn't help to achieve that.

Blitzle is a great open??ing-hand option if you can evolve it. Zebstrika's single energy attack might do just 30 damage, but you can apply that on any opposition Pokemon. While your opponent might be building up their EX Pokemon's 3 or 4 energy attack, you can take away a couple of creatures on their bench and get a victory.

If you're the type of person who relies on luck, Heliolisk is pretty fun. It's 2 energy attack ?does 80 damage if you manage to pull a Head. With 90 HP, Heliolisk can usually wit??hstand two attacks (unless it's coming from a top nuker/EX).

As for the items, Professor's Research is an excellent complimentary piece if you don't manage to get Meowth in your opening hand. Sabrina is the ultimate trump, which you should preserve at all costs. It's most useful when you already have two victory points, and your opponent is one step away from building th?eir EX/last card. It becomes near impossible for them to navigate the involuntary switch, and they will mostly only have options on the bench that can be taken down with a single attack.

As for Poke Ball, its role is to fill the bench with your Electric Pokemon to help Pikachu scale up its attack. While I played with this deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket, drawing Pikachu wasn't necessary to win. In fact, you could still win quite consistently without even d?rawing Ash's first Pokem?on.

Once new cards are released in the upcom?ing weeks, I expect this deck to improve even more. For now, you'll really en?joy this deck, but note that it has its counters, and you're not going to win every game.

Pack points are a type of currency that can be earned in Pokémon TCG Pocket, and you can use them to get some pretty rare cards. If you’re wondering how to get Pack Points or how to spend them, here’s everything you n??eed to know.

How to get more Pack Points in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Booster packs in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Each time you open up a booster pack in TCG Pocket, you’ll earn five Pack Points. These can then be saved and then used to effectively “craftâ€?chase cards. I don’t mean that you can get some glue and do some arts and crafts, but you can spend the points to gua??rantee the appearance of a chase card in a boo??ster pack.

How to use Pack Points in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Exchange points for specific cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Each card has a pre-determined rarity, and you’ll need to sp??end a fixed number of Pack Points in order to guarantee the appearance of a card of that rarity. The minimum number of Pack Points you’ll need for the most basic of cards is 35. The maximum for the rarest type of cards is 2,500.

At a base level, you can only open two booster packs per day, three if you’ve unlocked the Premium, and more if you use Pa??ck Hourglasses to unlock more packs. That means a minimum of 10 Pack Points can be earned each day, so however you l?ook at it, you’re in for a grind.

Here’s how many Pack Points you need for each rarity of the c?ard, along with how many days you’d need to play if you open two booster packs per day:

Card rarity icon Pack Points cost Days played
One diamond 35 4
Two diamond 70 7
Three diamond 150 15
Four diamond 400 40
One star 500 50
Two star 1250 125
Three star 1500 150
Crown 2500 250

To exchange Pack Points, you’ll need to press the Pack Point Exchange button on the booster pack scr?een, as shown below:

This will bring up a screen where you can see how many Pack Points you currently have and a full list of cards that can be guaranteed in the next booster pack. This is a good way to get specific cards, and you’ll need to be quick - once the availability period for a certain booster pack en??ds, you won’t be able to spend your Pack Points on ??those cards anymore.

Wonder Pick is a system in Pokémon TCG Pocket that allows you to choose o?ne card from a pack that another player has opened. The other player doesn’t lose any cards, and you stand? a chance to get a really cool card for your own collection.

Just like with the booster packs themselves, you have to rely on Wonder Stamina to let you take part in Picks. You can ??have a maximum of five Wonder Stamina at any time, and each Pick uses up a certain number of your Stamina. Each Wonder Stamina takes 12 hours to regenerate, so if you run ?out completely, you’ll need to wait 60 hours to be refilled.

However, also just like Pack Stamina, there are ways to speed up this process and get some Wonder Stamina back much more quickly, giving you another? chance to get some cool cards.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve likely got a rather large collection of Pokémon cards rattling around somewhere in your house. Collecting them is undeniably fun, and Pokémon TCG Pocket lets you do that without any add??itional clutter in your living space.

The primary way to unlock new cards in TCG Pocket is by opening booster packs. At a base level, you get two booster packs to open every day, and they can be opened 12 hours apart. Why? Because it takes 12 hours fo?r your “Pack Staminato refill, allowing you to rip open another pack of five cards.

12 hours is a long time to wait, and it??’s understand??able if you get a little frustrated with the process, but thankfully, there are a couple of ways to open more than two packs a day, and one of them won’t cost you a penny, although it is a bit of a grind.

Complete missions and level up to earn some Pack Hourglasses

Hourglasses are the main way to speed up your waiting times in TCG Pocket. They’re a type of currency, essentially, and you c??an spend one H??ourglass to reduce your waiting time by one hour.

The good news is that there’s a way for you to begin earning Hourglasses as soon as you’ve downloaded and installed the game, and all? you need to do is play to complete missions. There are many diff?erent types of missions to complete, but the ones that reward Pack Hourglasses are Basic Missions and Daily Missions.

To begin with, yo??u’ll have Beginner missions to complete. There are five in total, and once they’re completed, you’ll move up to the next set of missions. Completing each mission will get you 24 Pack Hourglasses, which is enough to completely negate any waiting and allow you to open up two additional booster packs.

Daily Missions reward less Pack Hourglasses per one completed, but completing three will reward you with either Pack Hourglasses? or Wonder Hourglasses.

Complete the Battle tutorials

Once you’ve opened enough packs to reach lev??el 3, you’ll be able to start battling either against other players, or against an AI opponent. It can be tempting to dive straight in, especially if you know how to play, but don’t skip out on the tutorials, beca??use there are Pack Hourglasses to be had.

To get them, open up the batt?le menu on the bottom of the screen, then select “Guidesâ€?in the bottom left corner.? There are seven tutorials to complete, each of which will give you two Pack Hourglasses.

It’s worth noting that once you’ve completed the basic tutorials, you can also complete more advanced ones. These don’t reward Pack Hourglasses, but you can get some very useful Trainer cards thi????s way.

You’ll also earn Pack Hourglasses for completing solo?? battle challenges for the first time.

Exchange your tickets for Pack Hourglasses

Tickets are earned through the Wonder Pick system, and players who pick from your ?packs can send you thanks. Each thanks comes w?ith a Ticket, which can be exchanged in the Shop.

You can also get Tickets as?? part of the Daily Gift item within the Shop. This is completely free, and you get all three of the items shown. They’re also a possible reward for leveling up, although this is a bit hi??t-and-miss.
