Prime Video’s Fallout TV show has racked up more than 100 million views since its launch. In the process, it has become the second most viewed show on the service, after The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power.

The show racked up 16 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations and has been commissioned for a second series, which will see the cast head to New Vegas. Showrunners have said they can see Fallout running for five series.

Along with HBO’s The Last Of Us, Fallout TV has shown that it is possible to make appealing and critically acclaimed TV out of existing game franchises. Prime Video will be hoping to replicate that success with the upcoming launch of Secret Level: an anthology series of ?15 shows ba?sed on different classic video games.

The Fallout TV show launched on April 10, 2024. It received positive reviews from critics and viewers?, earning it 16 Emmy nominations including for Outstanding Drama Series and Lead Actor In A Drama Series.

Although it onl?y walked away with the award for Outstanding Music Supervision, its success paved the way for Prime Video to sign? a second series.

The second series will see the cast heading to New Vegas: the location of the Fallout: New Vegas game, which is widely considered to be one of if not the best in the series. The success of the show also saw Bethesda’s Fallout 76, the most recent iteration of the game franchise, experience a boost in pla??yer numbers.

Having enjoyed more than 100 million views since its launch, Fallout is now the second most popular show ever on Prime Video. The only show to best its viewer numbers is The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power.

Season 1 of the fantasy epic has had 150 million views. While Fallout does have some way to go to catch up with the adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s masterpiece, Rings of Power series 1 launched more than two years ago and likely saw an uptick in viewer figures following the recent airin??g of the second series.

Fallout has already overtaken the likes of other hugely successful shows including The Boys, Reacher, and Invincible.? It wouldn’t?? be at all surprising to see Lucy, Cooper and the rest of the cast take the title.

A release date for the second series hasn’t been annou?nced. Season 1 had a two-year wait from the start of production to its initial airing,? so fans will likely have to wait until at least 2026 to enjoy the next installment.

Meanwhile, Fallout, along with another hugely successful video game adaptation The Last Of Us, has paved the way for more video game conversions. Prime Video is launching Secret Level in December. Secret Level consists of 15 animated shows, e?ach of which? is based on the world of one or more video games.

A recent teaser trailer gave us a glimpse of the first episode, which takes place in the world of Unreal Tournament. Other games to be included in the series are Sifu, The Outer Worlds, Pac-Man, and even the ill-fated Concord.

The Fallout TV show was made by Kilter Films and produced by Jonathan Nol?an and Lisa Joy. It starred Ella Purnell as Lucy, Walton Goggins as Cooper Howard,?? and Aaron Moten as Maximus.

The show was not based on any of the games but took part in the Fallout universe. It was set several years after the incidents of Fallout 4. Similarly, the second series won’t be based on any of the games from the series, even though it ??will be se?t in New Vegas.

Prime Video has launched a new trailer for its upcoming series Secret Level. Secret Level is an anthology series from the creators of Love, Death + Robots. The animated series will consist of?? 15 episodes,?? each featuring a story set in the world of one or more popular video games.

The series, slated for a December launch, includes episodes based on notable games like the now-defunct Concord; The Outer Worlds 2 (due its own gaming sequel); Sifu, which has recently been added to Xbox Game Pass; and Warhammer 40,000, which saw Space Marines 2 enjoy a successful launch in September. The latest trailer from Prime showcases the Unreal Tournament episode.

Unreal Tournament was developed in the 1990s by Epic Games. It was one of the first titles to use the Unreal Engine, developed by Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney in 1995. Now in its fifth iteration, Unreal Engine went on to become the most successful video game platform of all time. Unreal Tournament launched in 1999 and was the second title in the Unreal Series after 1998’s Unreal. The game saw players take on a series of arena battles against bots in the single-player campaign or online against human opponents. The trailer recreates the intro to the game ??and introd??uces the premise of government-sanctioned kill tournaments.

As well as Unreal Tournament, Amazon’s ad als?o teases some of the other games set to?? feature in the anthology series.

The Outer Worlds launched in 2019 and enjoyed generally very positive reviews. The Ob??sidian Entertainment action role-playing game has amassed quite a following and players are expecting a sequel to land sometime soon. Obsidian ann?ounced they were working on a sequel in 2021, but there has been no definitive news of a launch date yet.

Sifu is another game to get its own Secret Level episode. Launched in 2022 on PC and consoles, the game is billed as a third-person brawler and is available to play on Xbox Game Pass. The game boasts non-stop martial arts action as the title character seeks revenge on those who killed his master. Viewers can likely expect a similarly action-packed Sifu episode.

Warhammer 40,000 launched as a tabletop skirmish game in the 1980s and remains popular today. The tabletop experience has been converted to video games several times in its history, most recently with the launch of Space Marine 2. Space Marine 2 launched on consoles and PC in September and has enjoyed positive reviews since. Prime Video will launch a Warhammer 40,000 series with Superman and The Witcher actor Henry Cavill starring and executive pro??ducing the s??how.

A little surprisingly, the episode Concord is still set to air. Firewalk Studios launched Concord in August 2024 but announced they were closing down servers two weeks later. Only 25,000 copies of the game sold with buyers being promised refunds. Amazon will undoubtedly be hoping the episode of Secret Level? fares better than the game’s disastrous performance.

15 episodes of the animated show have been confirmed:

  • Pac-Man
  • Warhammer 40,000
  • Concord
  • Mega Man
  • Unreal Tournament
  • New World: Aeterneum
  • Armored Core
  • Spelunky
  • Honor of Kings
  • Sifu
  • Dungeons & Dragons
  • The Outer Worlds
  • Crossfire
  • Exodus
  • PlayStation

Secret Level will be exclusive to Prime Video. It launches on December 20 and has been created by Blur Studios. Blur Studios was founded by Tim Miller in 1995 and has contributed to various video games and animated titles. Blur Studios is also the team responsible for the massively popular Love, Death + Robots series on Netflix.
