Xbox Game Pass boosts Brainpunk actioner

Bandai Namco's hi-tech action-adventure Scarlet Nexus has shifted an impressive one million copies since its summer 2021 release on PC and consoles. In addition, the publisher announced that over two million pl?ayers h?ave battled it out within the anime-infused "Brainpunk" universe.

The huge disparity between player count and sales is a result of Scarlet Nexus being made available on the Xbox Game Pass service, downloads of which do not, obviously, count as literal sales. The addition of Scarlet Nexus to the subscription service did result in a 10??0% player increase, which still bode?s well for Bandai Namco's future plans for the franchise, which has already received an anime adaptation.

If you're still curious to check out Scarlet Nexus' wild world of psychic teens, brain-eating aliens, and powerful mech technology, then now is as good a time as any, as Bandai Namco has dropped a new "Story Demo" which, as the name denotes, offering the curious a bite-sized chunk of the story campaign. 'Can I borrow that a second..?'

Bandai Namco has announced that its anime-infused action-adventure titles Tales of Arise and Scarlet Nexus are getting set to buddy up i??n the form of new crossover DLC, he?aded to both titles in the future.

The publisher remains somewhat tight-lipped on the incoming collaboration, with more info expected in the coming days. But, in order to whet fans' appetites, it was revealed that a trade-in-arms will be taking place, allowing Tales of Arise players to wage brainpunk warfare with Scarlet Nexus' Myoho Muramasa blade. Conversely, Scarlet Nexus players will be able to don the Broken Mask and Blazing Sword of Tales' hero Alphen.

Both of these items will be available to download for all players gratis. Further DLC was not reve?aled.

While both Tales of Arise and Scarlet Nexus are set within very different worlds, the language of anime adventure is global. As long as you have beautiful people fighting monsters and seeking personal vengeance/redemption, (don't forget to include an awkward, shy girl), then everything is pretty much copacetic. Make beautiful memories of hideous atrocities

Scarlet Nexus is a great game, a??nd was low-key one of the ??most entertaining and stylish titles of 2021. For anybody out there still drowning in its dazzling-but-grotesque futurpocalypse, you're in luck, as Bandai Namco has just dropped a brand new update on all platforms, adding a couple of fine features.

First and foremost, version 1.07 �no?w available to download on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox �adds a brand new difficulty option. The unsurprisingly titled "Very Hard" mode will test even the finest soldiers of The Other Suppression Force as they do battle with the brain-eating monstrosities currently munching their ways through the domes of civilization. It w??ill take all of the firepower and psychic capacity of your favorite alien-mashers to battle through t??his hardcore setting, tuned for veteran players.

On the lighter side, a brand new Photo Mode has been added, which will allow you to take super-cute selfies of your favorite Scarlet Nexus stars. Create wonderful memories and candid comedic moments as life as we know it melts away in?to absolute nothingness, (kinda like the real world, I suppose). The photo mode will feature a selection of filters, poses, facial expressions, and other fun features so yo?u can capture yourself, your pals, and that massive bag of tentacles and goo just right. Smash that Like button!

Scarlet Nexus is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Away from t?he digital world, you can check out its Sunrise-produced anime adaptation right now on the Funimation streaming service.

Bandai Namco has offered up a little more information regarding the DLC headed toward its anime action-RPG, Scarlet Nexus. The"brainpunk" adventure hit headlines last week after being a surprise release for the Xbox Game Pass? service, and the publis?her is taking the opportunity to send a little love in The OSF's direction.

Two updates will be coming to Scarlet Nexus at some point in the near future. The first update, Version 1.04, is a free-for-all update, adding a list of 50 all-new challenges to the game �the completion of which will unlock new skins and items for our heroes and their arsenal of alien-slaying? weapons. Additionally, this update will patch in brand new dialogue for the cast's social interactions, as well as a fresh run of balance tweaks and bug stomps.

The second update will be paid-DLC pack "Bond Enhancement 1". This pack will add an additional Bond status to the player's relationships "EX", alongside a total of 10 new Bond episodes, (but not No Time to Die). The DLC pack will also include a new wardrobe of costu??mes for The OSF's members, meticulously designed by veteran artist Yusuke Kozaki. While Scarlet Nexus may have been considered a little under-the-radar for many in the gaming community, Bandai Namco aims to make it a cornerstone of the publisher's portfolio. Apocalypse Now (or this afternoon)

As part of its Tokyo Game Show stream, Xbox announced that Bandai Namco's Scarlet Nexus will be joining the Xbox Game Pass subscription service today. In addition, it was revealed that new DLC is currently in the works for? the ac??tion RPG.

Launching in June of this year on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms, Scarlet Nexus is the tale of a future under siege from a terrifying alien force known simply as "The Others". Attacking Earth with the desire to literally eat humanity's brains, these icky, skin-crawling beasts must be dispatched by humanity's final hope: The OSF �a squadron of young mercenaries blessed/cursed with incredible psychic abilities. Scarlet Nexus blends m??elodramatic storytelling with hard 'n' heavy action to create an engaging anime-infused experience, one that appe??aled to critics and fans across the globe.

No specific details were revealed regarding the upcoming DLC, though Bandai Namco's has previously stated its intention to make Scarlet Nexus a key IP going forward, having already commissioned a Sunrise-produced anime, and an electrifying London mural, (by art collective End of the Line), during the ga??me's initial release period. We'll give you the good word when more ??information on the new DLC is available.

PC players can test out their brain powers too

Scarlet Nexus went live for PC and consoles back in June. Before then, a demo was launched, but just for console platforms. Today, Bandai Namco confirmed the demo is now available on PC as well.

The publisher didn't specify a reason for the delay of the PC demo, which is now live on Steam. There's also a new DLC Pack on the way as well, which unlocks a new EX level bond extension, opening up new SAS powers an??d bond episodes, as well as additio??nal costumes and weapons.

Scarlet Nexus was a neat surprise from Bandai Namco. It looked really great on next-gen consoles, and it was a neat mix of action combat and RPG systems, with fights that really heate?d up as you gained more and more brain powers to use.

It's a shame PC owners had to wait so long to dip their toes in the water. Tales of Arise has a similar console-only situation with its demo, which is out ?right now o??n PlayStation and Xbox consoles, so hopefully it gets a PC version soon too.

Jim Vision creates 'brainpunk' inspired artwork

A fantastic and electrifying graffiti mural has appeared on the streets of East London, inspired by and marking the release of Bandai Namco's brand new sci-fi adventure Scarlet Nexus, which launched today on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms?.

The huge, eye-catching piece was designed and painted by UK artist Jim Vision of art collective End of the Line, (who were also responsible for the incredible Metal Gear Rising murals back in 2013). Armed with 50 cans of spray paint and a palette of 37 colors, Vision completed the extraordinary work in just two days. The Scarlet Nexus graf?fiti mural ?embodies the trademark "Brainpunk" style of the colorful, futuristic universe.

"This part of East London felt like a fitting place to produce this piece of art," said Jim of the mural. "You look down one road and you see the quiet residential streets that were once the stomping ground of legendary London gangsters, The Krays, then you turn the corner, and you are surrounded by a huge city landscape of high-rise futuristic buildings, very similar to Scarlet Nexus."

The artwork, which will remain installed for one month, can be found at 68 Hanbury Street, London, E1 5JL, opposite Second Home Spitalfields. So if you're in the area, be sure to take some time out to soak in its neon brilliance. Additionally, today will also see a selection of Scarlet Nexus-themed events at clothing store Cyberdog, l??ocated in Camden Market.

Action-RPG Scarlet Nexus is just ?a little over a month away, but if you've got an Xbox console handy, you can try it out today.

A new demo for Bandai Namco's stylish anime action game is out today for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. In it, you can play as either of the two main characters: Yuito Sumeragi or Kasane Randall. According to Xbox, you'll also get some in-game rewards for playing the demo.

PlayStation owners won't have to wait long to try it out, as Bandai Namco says the Scarlet Nexus demo will come to PlayStation 4 and 5 on May 28, one week from today. If you're looking for something flashy and filled with combat to eat up some time this weekend, sounds like Scarlet Nexus might be able to make that happen.

A lot of us are keeping a close eye on upcoming apocalyptic hack 'n' slasher Scarlet Nexus, which is headed PC and consoles in June. Developer/publisher Bandai Namco has a lot of confidence in the stylish-looking franchise, as it has already commissioned a tie-in anime, set to premiere in Japan July 1.

Produced by the legendary studio Sunrise, who brought about classics such as Cowboy Bebop, Gundam, and Code Geass, the Scarlet Nexus anime will naturally follow the narrative of the video game, as a squad of psychically powered soldiers — The Other Suppression Force (OSF) — defend a dilapidated Earth from attack by an alien species hungry for all of our juicy, psychic brains. Described by its creators as "Brainpunk", Scarlet Nexus looks and sounds pretty neat, and could prove to be one of the year's biggest breakout brand??s.

While Sunrise is yet to announce an official English localization of the anime, anyone curious for the new franchise will be able to check out the OSF's video game exploits via a demo, scheduled to drop on Xbox platforms May 21, with PlayStation to follow on May 28. Scarlet Nexus officially la??unches on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC ??on June 25.

Bandai Namco's anime action-RPG Scarlet Nexus is still a ways out, but there will be? a chance to tes??t it out coming later this month.

Confirmed in a tweet today, Scarlet Nexus' demo will be coming first to Xbox on May 21. According to Eurogamer, the PlayStation version of the de??mo will follow on May 28. There's been no word on a PC demo, though we've reached out to Bandai Namco to clarify.

We've had a few glimpses at Scarlet Nexus thus far, both through gameplay and through its rockin' anime opening. Its mix of brain powers and action looks pretty rad, so it's nice to have a chance to go hands-on befor??e its release date.

If you need a tubular tune to help push you into the back half of Thursday, then Bandai Namco has you covered. The publisher has released the opening anime to its intergalactic alien fighter Scarlet Nexus, which is?? set to l??aunch on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox June 25.

The hard-rockin' sequence, animated by studio Sunrise of Gundam and Cowboy Bebop fame, sees some of the psychically charged soldiers of The OSF preparing to go to war with a brain-eating alien force known as "The Others". The action is scored by Japanese rock band checks notes The Oral Cigarettes, blasting out Scarlet Nexus' theme song "Dream in Drive". If it's too loud then you're too old, Grandad! Go get your cocoa and pipe! Incidentally, Sunrise has already been commissioned to produce a tie-in anime, which will air later in 2021.

Scarlet Nexus, which is currently in development at Bandai Namco Studios, quietly pushes its way to completion. While it definitely feels like one of those titles people forget is on the radar, its apocalyptic storyline, electric cast of characters, and promises of chaotic, free-roaming battles of mind vs. monster, could find it one of the summer's most cathartic and exciting releases. Brains over brawn.

Bandai Namco's action-RPG Scarlet Nexus is set for the summer, and today we g??ot some new looks at what it will look like to smack enemies around with your brain powers while playing as its protagonists.

In the first cut, Yuito takes on a big enemy called the "Slippy Chinery" by using Pyrokinesis on it. Like I've always said, wh??en?? in doubt, fire is probably the way forward.

And while Yuito can do plenty of rad-looking slams and mind attacks, fel?low controllable character Kasane can also use telekinesis, taking out groups of monsters (called "Othe??rs") at a time.

Bandai Namco has been slowly trickling out more about Scarlet Nexus leading up to its June 25 launch date, including looks at some of its massive battles and the gameplay outside of those scraps too. It's got a fantastic look to it, and after the success of other stylized action games like Astral Chain, maybe this is a next-??gen mind-masher to look o?ut for.

Psychic Slickness

While we've been hearing a lot about the world, concepts, and characters of Bandai Namco's upcoming hack 'n' slash RPG, Scarlet Nexus, we haven't seen too much in the way of actual gameplay. Fortunately, a publisher live stream held to "celebrate the release d?ate announcement" ?contains around 20 minutes of action from the "Brainpunk" adventure.

The video is a little unwieldy, but features multiple short segments that showcase both the action a??nd exploration elements of the upcoming sci-fi title, which follows a unit of psychic warriors - The OSF - as they attempt to take Earth back from an invading force of literal brain-eaters known as "The Others," drawn to the planet by its sudden rad?iance of mental energy.

The gameplay footage has more than a touch of Nier: Automata about it - at least in regards to combat and flow - and sees The OSF touring the city of "New Himuka" (1:07), showing off their respective attacks and abilities (1:19), delving into Scarlet Nexus' "Bond" system (1:24) and then putting it all to work in a series of chaotic throwd??own with seve??ral Others, climaxing in a mighty boss battle with a skin-crawly giant (1:28).

Scarlet Nexus might not be a release at the forefront of everyone's minds, but I can't help but sense a little Astral Chain about it. That is to say, perhaps the Brainpunk adventure will receive a relatively quiet release, but will fast find favor among anime and action games fans, becoming more successful than many were initially expecting. With the recent announcement of a tie-in anime, produced by Sunrise no less, it does se?em that Bandai Namco will be throwing a lot ??of weight behind Scarlet Nexus from a marketing standpoint.

To be cliched, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and as such it is important to get a physical feel for Scarlet Nexus in ac??tion. Hopefully Bandai Namco will see fit to release a demo before the?? game's official launch, June 25, on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms.

Bandai Namco has released a mecha-load of exciting information concerning its dynamic-looking action-RPG Scarlet Nexus. The post-apocalyptic anime adventure will come exploding onto PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on western shores June 25, a mere day after i??ts Japanese release.

First revealed back during last summer's Inside Xbox stream, before being showcased in December's Game Awards, Scarlet Nexus is set in a future completely engulfed by technology, where mankind has learned to harness the psychic powers of the human mind, evolving humanity far beyond its means. Unfortunately, this outpouring of mental energy has drawn in a species of mind?-eating mutants, "The Others." who are attacking Earth in the hopes of devouring our all-powerful brains.

Of course, once man learned how to harness psychic power, he immediately weaponized it, resulting in the creation of The OSF (Other Suppression Force), a tactical military unit trained in the synergy of mind and machine to defeat the invaders. Scarlet Nexus will tell the story of?? one such battle unit's war to save the city from legions of truly grotesque, spine-shiveri?ng creatures from your darkest imagination.

Bandai Namco has also announced that Scarlet Nexus is already in the process of being adapted into an anime. Set to air later this summer, the Scarlet Nexus series is produced by veteran studio Sunrise, who has been responsible for iconic series such as Mobile Suit Gundam, Code Geass, and Cowboy Bebop. The new show hopes to capture all of the inte??nse dynamism of the video game, along with its noted "Brain Punk" aesthetic. Check out a trailer for the ?new series below.

On March 24, Bandai Namco will be hosting a special Japanese liv??e stream to commemorate the new information, so no doubt we'll be hearing much more about both the video game and anime iterations of Scarlet Nexus, alongside a deeper dive on its wired world.
