Atlus has released a brand new update for its stylish Shin Megami Tensei spin-off, Soul Hackers 2 �Now available to download on all platforms, the new patch adds four new demons to the mix, and includes several new abilities to help slim down th?at all-consuming time-grind.

The new "Dash" toggle will although players to contr??ol Ringo at a much-accelerated rate, helping her to negotiate the monster-infested labyrinths with speed, and even performing her standard "slash" in double-quick time. This new speed increase can also be applied to battles themselves, with a "Speed Up" toggle allowing for quick and easy carvings in face-to-face encounters. Hopefully, these two new additions will make grinding for XP? less of a chore.

Four new demons have been added to the Soul Hackers 2 roster via this new update. The demons are the fiery Aitvaras, the stoic priestess Isis, the frankly bizarre Neko Shotgun, and the hyper-iconic Pixie �depicted in her original Devil Summoner form. It should be noted that acquiring these new demons does not count toward the in-game Registration Percentage of the Demon Compendium, nor its associate?d achievements or trophies.

Finally, a small run of tweaks and bug fixes should improve loading times across the board, while other changes streamline the shop experience, a??nd include new preventative measures to stop button mashers from accidentally selecting the wrong options while plowing through the game's many menu screens. Huh, an u??pdate that asks you to take your time AND speed up.

Speed Demon

For those of you currently grinding it out in Shin Megami Tensei spin-off Soul Hackers 2, Atlus is currently preparing a new update that hopes to ma??ke your hour-chomping journey through the demon-filled dungeons a more streamlined and faster-paced experience.

The new update, which will drop on all platforms in November, will feature a variety of gameplay and U.I. tweaks, all seemingly designed to remove the hurdles between you, the monsters, and endless nights of level-grinding action. The November update will add a "Dash" function to our dungeon-running heroes, and will also offer a "high-speed" option to the game's many, many, many demonic encounters.

In regards to Soul Hackers 2's U.I. and menu system, several small tweaks have been made to expedite the process and get you back to soul 'ackin in d?ouble quick time. Players will now teleport to the shop inter?ior when selecting the shop from the in-game map, while the tip transitions on loading screens have been stripped down to increase load times. Some menu elements will also be rearranged to prevent you over-eager button mashers from accidentally clicking the wrong option.

In addition to the above changes, four more demons will be added to the big book of baddies. These are the fiery Aitvaras, the priestess Isis, comical warrior Neko Shotgun, and finally, the iconic cutie-pie, Pixie (Devil Summoner variant). While a specific? launch date is yet to be announced, fans can expect this update to hit next month.

We're just a fortnight out from the launch of the super stylish-looking Shin Megami Tensei title Soul Hackers 2, which will launch on PC and console platforms come August 25 �and while the demon-hunting adven??ture hasn't hit the streets yet, Atlus is already getting its DLC machine in gear.

On launch day, multiple paid DLC packs will be made available for Soul Hackers 2, comprised of additional music tracks, in-game costumes, extra in-game currency/items, and �perhaps a little more egregiously �a full alternate story chapter featuring a super-cool new devil summoner, Nana. Here's a shocker: She has a sort of "gothy/punky" aesthetic, as do day one DLC characters for all video games in existence.

There are four paid DLC packs in total. One featuring the extra character/scenario, one featuring a roster of additional demons, and one featuring a variety of character skins �including gear representing previous titles such as Persona 5, Shin Megami Tensei IV, and the original Soul Hackers, as well as the obligatory "swimsuit" wardrobe. Each pack can be purchased separately or in an "All-in-One" bundle for a discounted price of ¥4,840, or ro??ughl??y $35 USD. Don't shoot the messenger.

Fated Fit

August is now well underway, and that means were are mere weeks out from the launch of the exciting-looking JRPG Soul Hackers 2. Publisher Atlus has dropped a brand new trailer for the stylish sequel, keeping fans teetering on high fervor ahead of the game's official l??aunch on August 26.

The trailer itself does not offer us any new information regarding features or mechanics, it is purely a contextless, narrative affair �its one-minute runtime packed out with more melodrama than you can shake a Sabbath at. Perhaps the one element that stands out the most in this short preview is just how damn good everybody looks. While Shin Megami Tensei is most certainly full of demon-hunting, world-ending plotlines, its various protagonists and antagonists are never too busy to ensure that they look sharp as all hell. It's quite literally a franchise trademark ?at this point.

Soul Hackers 2 will tell the story of specialized “Data Agents�Ringo and Figue, who have been dispatched to Earth to track down Persons of Interest related to an incoming apocalypse. What will follow is a lot of high-drama, social engagement, dungeon-exploring, demon-gathering, and strategic, elemental combat, all dressed up in SMT's unmistakably excessive aesthetic. Soul Hackers 2, for lack of a better phrase, simply came out of nowhere. It was only announced five months ??ago, and n?ow it is just three weeks away from launch.

At leas?t nobody was kept waiting... It is the end of the world??, after all.

Atlus is gearing up for the launch of its kinetic and stylish-looking sequel Soul Hackers 2, which is coming to PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms this summer �and for those of you hardened hacker-heads, the publisher has also revealed a cool, (and somewhat pricey), c??ollector's edition.

The Soul Hackers 2 Collector's Edition, which will be made available to western audiences, inclu??des a physical copy of the game on the platform of your choice, along with several fun additions including an exclusive SteelBook case, a digital soundtrack on a themed USB stick, art cards, a pin badge set, and a Shark key chain, the centerpieces of this edition are a three-inch figurine of the series iconic mascot Ai-Ho, and a cut?e plushie of Mimi. The set will retail for $199.99 USD.

If you're interested in bagging this special edition, then you should mark your calendars for Friday, June 10 at 10:00 PT / 13:00 ET, for this is when Atlus will open pre-orders over on the official Shop Atlus store. The Collector's Edition is an online store exclusive and Atlus suggests that quantities for each platform are limited, so set your watch and be online when the pre-orders go live to ensure that you get?? your name down. While I think the pricing is pretty steep, I have to admit that Mimi plush is very cute.

It seems odd to think that, just last month, we didn't even know that Soul Hackers 2 was coming into existence, and now, scant weeks later, we have platforms, a release date, and not one, but two trailers for the surprise Shin Megami Tensei sequel. For once it's nice to have a new video game stamp its arrival with such confidence, rather than dither over its drip-feed?? of facts.

The new trailer, which you can check out below, sees our hip young party of protagonists battling their way through a hyper-kinetic, neon-plumed cityscape �sort of a blend of Yakuza's Kamurocho, the grim cityscape of Blade Runner 2049, and the rainbow nightlife of Las Vegas. The narrative will follow specialized "Data Agents" Ringo and Fig??ue, who have been dispatched to Earth to locate the individuals fated to stop an incoming? apocalypse.

What this means for you, the player, is some slick 'n' sexy adventure, packed full of demon-smashing action and uber-stylized heroes and villains. From this trailer and the recent screenshots, it's not looking too shabby at all. You can check out Soul Hackers 2's cast of characters over on the freshly updated Japanese website, which also offers a glimpse at the Japanese special edition, as well as the Persona 5-themed pre-order content.

Fresh from its shock reveal, publisher Atlus has released a gallery of early screenshots taken from incoming sequel Soul Hackers 2, which is currently in development for PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms. The screens were featured as part of an exclusive report in news outlet Game Informer.

As one would expect from any release in the Shin Megami Tensei universe, the slick and stylish screens depict an array of CrazySexyCool characters doing their demon-hunting thing against the backdrop of a cyberpunk neon nightlife. Soul Hackers 2's typically OTT narrativ??e sees the world in peril once again, with special data agents Ringo and Figue dispatched to Earth in order to locate the fated individuals who can save mankind from its latest bout of otherworldly destruction.

As our cyberized heroes, players will gather a party of well-dressed allies as they battle against a platoon of demons and monsters, utilizing Ringo's mysterious powers of resurrection to help uncover the truth about the planet's fate and, ultimately, attempt to stop the incoming apocalypse. As the screenshots are part of another website's exclusive report, I don't wanna be a stinker and include them all here. Capcom wasn't the only company with a countdown clock leading to today. Atlus also had its own thing going, but it was slightly less mysterious about what would be announced when the clock struck zero, given the website was specifically for Soul Hackers. Early this morning, the developer pulled back the curtain on the Soul Hackers 2 trailer and it looks pretty damn good. Sadly, this is one of those age-restricted trailers which YouTube insists you watch on its?? website.

In Soul Hackers 2, players will take up the role of Ringo, a super-intelligent AI, as they team up with various allies to save the world from certain doom. The game is a long, long, long, long-awaited follow-up to Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, which was originally released in 1997 on the Sega Saturn. A 3DS port was released back in 2013 that brought the game to a worldwide audience. If you haven'?t played it yet, just remember you only have a year before the 3DS eShop shuts down.

Soul Hackers 2 will launch on August 26, 2022, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Curiously, the Japanese press release for the game lists the Xbox versions as being download only. I'm sure a Switch port will arrive sometime after the console gets Persona 5 Royal.

Speaking of P5, costumes for the Phantom Thieves will be available in Soul Hackers 2 as ?preorder DLC, though so far this is only being promoted on the Japanese website.
