Nearing the end of the 2024 Nintendo Direct, Spike Chunsoft, the creators of the Danganronpa series, announced their latest game, The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- is arriving as a Nint?endo Switch exclusive in early 2025.

Boasting Danganronpa's signature art style and narrative parallels, The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- takes place in an ap??ocalyptic world where mysterious, hostile creatures are invading. Playing as the protagonist, Takumi Sumino, you?r goal is to survive 100 days as you and your fellow classmates defend your school against these creatures.

Right from the get-go, we see its resemblance to previous Spike Chunsoft games like those from the Danganronpa series. Some of the most notable similarities are the existence of a small animal mascot, the forced enrolment of 16 students in a questionable school, and the collapse of soci??ety as monsters destroy everything in their path. The premise is th?e same outside of the absence of murder mystery and case-solving, but its gameplay is vastly different.

Rather than being a primarily visual novel-based game, The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- features a combat grid where you'll arrange your characters and defeat waves of enemies, with things getting increasingly challenging as you progress through the 100 days. While little is known about the specifics of gameplay and combat, we at least know there's ??some variety here.

The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- ?will launch on Nintendo Switch in early 2025. No ?exact release date is currently known.
