There are plenty of community lots to visit if your Sims want to go out in The Sims 4. Depending on which expansions you own, there are nightclubs, libraries, parks, and any??thing?? else you can think of.

There’s one location that’s easy to stump even veteran players on how to get to, and that’s the hospital included in Get To Work. Where is the hospital, and how do your Sims visi??t if they need a doctor? We’re here to show you how.

Where to find the hospital in The Sims 4

There are only two w??ays your sims can visit a hospital in The Sims 4: they must either be? in labor or work as a doctor. Sadly, the hospital is not a visitable lot you can choose from in the Magnolia Promenade world. You can’t even choose to visit it when your Sim gets sick.

If your Sim works in the doctor career, they’ll go to the hospital as their designated place of work, just like the lab for the science caree?r track and? the police station for the detective career track. If you follow your Sims to work that day, you’ll go with them to the hospital to help them perform their daily tasks.

Your Sim can still visit the hospital even if they don’t work there. However, the only way the option will come up is if they are in the final stage of pregnancy, go into labor, and choose to have the baby at the? hospital. When your pregnant Sim begins labor, click on them, and you can choose where you want to have the baby and who you want to bring with you.

Your Sims will be transport?ed directly to the only hospital ??in the game.

How to edit the hospital lot in The Sims 4

Once you’re at the hospital, you’ll find that, unlike other community lots, you can’t edit it in Build or Buy Mode. To edit the lot, bring up the cheat console by hitting Shift + Ctrl + C, type �strong>testingcheats on� hit enter, and then type �strong>bb.enablefreebuild� It's one of the best cheats for The Sims 4.

??Now, you can switch from Live Mode to Build or Buy and edit the hospital to your heart’s content. 

However, be aware that certain items are needed for the hospital to function properly during your career. Don’t delete any of the me??dical equipment or front desk, or if you do delete them, make sure to replace them.

Unfortunately, you cannot set a lot type as hospital when buil??ding on other lots, so you’re stuck with the one in the game already. This hospital is the only one the game will recognize, so don’t make it into a??nother lot type, either.

The 25^th Anniversary celebration for The Sims franchise has already been off to a strong start. With the release of the Legacy Collection bundle, which lets you play The Sims and The Sims 2 on modern PCs, the community is already buzzing. Now, EA has revealed the next part of the celebration: the latest expansion pack for The Sims 4, called Businesses & Hobbies, which will be released on March 6, 2025.

The official reveal trailer, which debuted on February 6, 2025, shows off a plethora of new content revolving around your Sims owning small bu??sinesses and enjoying hobbies. Long-requested skills such as tattooing and pottery will now not only be available for your Sims to master but also to open their own business about their passion.

The next expansion pack for The Sims 4 is Businesses & Hobbies

The trailer also showed off anot?her long-awaited feature, the ability to run your business from your Sim’s home. You can designate certain rooms to be available to the public and others that are just for the lot’s residents. 

Finally, in another win for the community, tattooing will be given much more freedom. Not only will you be able to layer more tattoos over your Sim instead of one per body slot, you’re also able to freehand and draw tattoos as you like, similar to pet markings. These two gameplay features have been requested for years by Sims 4 players, and f?inally, we’re ge?tting them added to the game.

The expansion will get a gameplay trailer on February 18, which will likely show off more hobbies that your Sims are able to enjoy. The trailer focused entirely on tattooing and pottery, so hopefully we’ll get to see more available hobbies than just those two. We’re also expecting to see a tutorial on how to use the new room designat?ions, as well as the expanded range of options for small businesses.

We only have a month before the release? of the new expansion, so EA is sure to cram in all the information i?t can about the new pack before the official release. We’re excited to see more about this promising expansion.

The Sims 25th Anniversary celebration has rung in a nostalgic event for The Sims 4, showcasing many iconic items from the franchise. We're here to show you all the Bl?ast from the Past event rewards and how to claim them.

Sims 4 Blast from the Past event guide

The Sims 4 Blast from the Past event is a six-week extravaganza that centers around The Sims franchise's past and present. You'll need to complete various weekly objectives i?n Live Mode to earn rewards, similar to past events like the Reaper's Reward.

Each time you conquer an objective, you'll get Event Points??, which you can exchange via the Blast from the Past event page.

How to get all rewards in Sims 4 Blast from the Past

Although there are only a select few quests available for the Blast from the? Past event, the in-game page presents a sneak peek into all rewards. Here's what to expect:

If you played the Sims 2 and 3, you may remember the missing person milk cartons. Now, they're back in the fourth iteration, allowing you to collect different variants for decorations. You'll see plenty of more callbacks to past entries, including Sims 2's Get Up! Alarm Clock.

There are also some new items to claim, like the Surprise Birthday Cake. It'll make birthday parties much more interesting, as a Sim can hide inside the cake to surprise their special someone. I just hope it doesn't scare anyone to death, as Sims tend to die in the oddest ways. Fortunately, you can use the Life and Death cheats if things do go wrong.

All Sims 4 Blast from the Past quests

At the time of writing, only two quests are available in Sims 4's Blast from the Past event. Each mission splits into multiple tasks that tie into a certain theme. You won't be able to unlock too much content, but you can at least start knocking out Week 1's objectives. So, without?? further ado, let's dive into current missions:

You'll get a notification regarding a Special Stranger when you're in Live Mode. Complete the sub-tasks in the first quest to uncover this mysterious Sim's whereabouts. Eventually, you'll end up at Magnolia Blossom Park, where you'll find Emit. He's pretty noticeable with his brig?ht blue-colored hair.

With news about a possible re-release of the original Sims along with The Sims 2, it’s no wonder gamers are buzzing with excitement. The first two entries in the legendary Sims franchise are some of the most well-lov??ed games of all time, and it’s easy? to see why.

Ten Things about The Sims 2 that make it better than The Sims 4

Staying in Hotels

Sims have always been able to enjoy vacation since the first game, but with the variety of vacation worlds only growing, you’d probably think that The Sims 4 has the best vacations in the franchise.

Well, you’d be wrong, and that’s thanks to the hotel system in The Sims 2. Unlike the fourth game, where you can only stay in rentable homes, in the second game, you’re able to check into a hotel room. Hotels are a major part of travel in the real world, so not having them in The Sims 4 is a major missed opportunity. Lucki?ly, ??you can still enjoy them in the second game.

Using Drawers and Cooking Utensils

Sometimes, it’s the small things that make the biggest difference. While not an active interaction, whenever Sims cook at ??counters in their home or on other lots, they’ll actually open the drawers on counters and pull utensils from them to use. They’re not just flat textures.

Things like this make The Sims 2 feel much more dynamic and alive than the fourth installment. Cooking in The Sims 4 doesn’t feel nearly as alive.

Creating a New World

Don’t have a premade world in-game that you think fits the town you want your Sims to live in? In The Sims 2, that’s not a problem?. You can make an entirely new world from scratch,?? from choosing the name to what terrain you want.

Not having the ability to create a world in The Sims 4 after enjoying it in an olde?r game is just disappointing. You’re limited on freedom, and suddenly, the p?remade worlds just feel so inferior.

Placing New Empty Lots 

Speaking of freedom in world-building, you know what’s not fun about The Sims 4? Running out of lots to build and live on in town. The Sims 2 triumphs ove?r this once again by letting you place new empty lots anywhe??re.

These lots can be any shape and size and be p??laced wherever you want. Your world can be filled with houses and buildings like a true city instead of premade set dressing. 

One-sided Relationships

Something that’s remained exclusive to The Sims 2 is the unique relationship system. Instead of Sims ?feeling the same about each other, one-sided relationships are completely poss?ible. 

Maybe one Sim thinks that the two are the best of friends, while the other can’t stand them. Or perhaps a Sim has a ma??jor crush on another, but their feelings simply aren’t returned. It makes for much more interesting storytelling, 

Mental Breakdowns

Also known as Aspiration Failures, following your Sims�dreams isn’t just a suggestion in The Sims 2; it’s a necessity. If their Aspiration Bar gets too low from not fulfilling their wants, Sims quite literally have a mental breakdown and requires a shrink to come cure them. Each different Aspiration even has different warning signs that they’re close to Aspiration Failure??.

This feature adds some challenge to the second game, whereas many times The Sims 4 feels frustrat?ingly easy. It takes more than just being fed and clean to keep a real person happy, so why would Sims be any different?

Grocery Shopping

I can’t lie; it’s very convenient to walk up to your refrigerator and purchase all the ingredients you need to make your meal. But it’s not very true to life, and that’s something The Sims 2 understands. So?, that’s why you can go grocery shopping.

Yes, it’s true th?at you can purchase from grocers at stands in the fourth game, but unfortunately, many of us don’t have access to that in real life. So, it’s much more realistic (and aesthetically pleasing) to take our Sims to a grocery store and pick up everything they need.

Burglars

Coming back to our point of The Sims 4 being too easy, The Sims 2 has another challenge: burglars. These baddies clad in stripes will break into your Sims�home, take something valuable like the TV or something unrealistic like a bed, and make off ??into the night.

It adds more challenge to the game and, in my opinion, more excitement. There’s nothing like screaming at your scree??n to make the cops show up faster to beat up the ba?ndit.

Cutscenes

Major life moments in The Sims 2 are much more memorable, thanks to the addition of cutscenes at certain life events. From hav?ing a baby to growing up, the second entry in the series makes those special moments all the better.

Sadly, this feature was cut in The Sims 3 ??and hasn’t been seen since. And no life event has felt as magical since.

Social Workers

Being a bad parent has consequences. However, it feels much more realistic in The Sims 2 than in The Sims 4. Unlike the newer game, where neglected children simply disappear in a puff of smoke, The Sims 2 has ?a social worker come knocking ?on your door to retrieve the child themselves.

Once again, this adds realism and grit to the game, something The Sims 4 is sorely lacking. Everything adds up, and all of these missing features just prove how The Sims 2 is simply better than The Sims 4.

EA has long had a backlog of Sims games sitting in its vault, from the cult classic Bustin�Out to The Urbz: Sims in the City. This includes the original The Sims which was released for PC, and the highly rated sequel, The Sims 2. Electronic Arts might have previously just left these titles to rot, but not anymore. It looks like The Sims and The Sims 2 are getting an official re-release.

Thanks to an update to the official website showing off a Sim from the original title with the interaction wheel from the se??quel, plus a teaser with Plumbobs from both games, it seems as though EA will be putting these two games out to gamers everywhere. This, coupled with industry rumors that? the release will be before the end of the month, seemingly confirms what fans have been asking for.

The Sims and The Sims 2 could be coming back for an official release

While there is no official confirmation from EA yet, a leak from SimsCommunity.info will be re-released on January 31, 2025. Along with the teases from the official Sims accounts, it se??ems likely the information is true. The ports will reportedly be for Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems, making the games playable on modern PCs. Again, this is all a leak, so i??nformation could change, and these rumors could be incorrect.

Along with the base games, the re-release is expected to include all the expansion packs for The Sims, and all the expansions and stuff packs for The Sims 2. Pricing is still unknown. However, we can assume it will be similar to past bundles, such as The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection.

The first two mainline titles of the series have been unplayable through official channels for years now, as neither game is currently available on the EA App or Origin. Players interested in enjoying the nostalgia offered by the original two Sims ??games have had to resort ?to buying the games secondhand or pirating them, and having to run them through backwards compatibility.

Coupled with the release of the MySims Cozy Bundle and the update to The Sims 3 not long ago, it seems that EA is finally listening to fans and making their older games accessible to players. The Sims 4 has been the cash cow for the company for over a decade now, and the company has pretty much ignored the rest of the catalog besides a few mobile spin-offs. With the series' 25^th Anniversary being celebr??ated in February 2025, EA has finally decided it’s the p??erfect time to give fans what they want.

So much DLC, yet so little time. The Sims 4 is rather not??orious for having an extensive collection of expansions and content that you're able to purchase, and the smallest of them all is kits.

These kits just contain a few items, usually either build and buy mode or CAS, although some contain a mix of both. We’re here to rank the top ten Sims 4 kits, so you know which ones to add to yo?ur game, and which to pass ??over.

Best kits available for The Sims 4

Book Nook

While The Sims 4 isn’t particularly lacking in bookshelves, the Book Nook kit t??akes it to a whole new level. You can create a wall-to-wall library with the buy items found in this kit, and other goodies like book clutter and some matching couches and chairs.

Moonlight Chic

It seems like it’s been a while since The Sims 4 has focused on clubwear, and that shows by how dated a lot of the nightlife CAS pieces are. Luckily, with the Moonlight Chic kit, it’s an issue of the past.

Deck your Sims out in ou??tfits that are perfect to go out dancing, clubbing, and barring with this kit. They’ll be the? belle of the ball�or rather, the nightclub.

The Grunge Revival kit ??comes with, you guessed it, grunge-style pieces like tops, pants, shoes, and jewelry to deck out your Sims with. It doesn’t actually matter if your Sim can skate or not because at least they’ll look cool.

A lot of CAS kits tend to focus on a specific subset of fashion. While there’s nothing wrong with that, the Incheon Arrivals ?kit stands out since it comes with clothing that would work for Sims of any a?ge.

There’s plenty of stuff for your teens and yo?ung adults, but these fashions would look just as appropriate on an elder, too. Everyone loves versatility.

Basement Treasures

As you’ll see on this list, some of the best DLC for The Sims 4 contains plenty of items to simply clutter up your home with. The Basement Treasures?? kit is special since it’s filled with retro-styled? items.

From an old, clunky TV to the obviously faux houseplant made famous by The Sims 1, these buy mode items are some of the best ones in the game. Finally, your Sim’s home will look like someone has lived there ?longer than five years.

Something the base game of The Sims 4 doesn’t do well is a large variety of modern swimwear. Sure, you have some good ones, but there isn’t much variety. Luckily, the Poolside Splash kit is here to save the day.

It comes with a plethora of swimwear for all your Sims, male, female, big, small, and? anything in between. Finally, your Sims will look fashionable while at the pool or beach.

Bathroom Clutter

Every Sim needs a bathroom, and like all of us in real life, they’re bathrooms probably won’t be the most pristine room in the house. That’s why the Bathroom Clutter kit is perfect for realism.

You can clutter up your shower, countertop, and everywhere else with this kit. It adds a great touch of realism to your h?ome, and it will look natural in any house.

We’ve made it very clear that we’re fans of clutter. The Everyday Clutter kit is the penultimate buy mode kit for th?is exact reason since it’s filled with random items to just place all over?? your house.

Jungle Adventure

Everyone loves Indiana Jones, and with Jungle Adventure, your Sims can take a journey straight out of the movies. With this pack, you can travel to Selvadorada ?for a vacation full of thrills.

Explore dangerous temples full of traps, collect artifacts, and plenty more. Sadly, when you’re not exploring the jungle, y??ou won’t be using this pack much, but it’s a fun novelty to experience. 

Strangerville

There’s something strange happening in Strangerville, and it's up to your Sims to solve the mystery and save the town from the creepy posses??sions that are taking hold of the desert town. 

Much like Jungle Adventure, once you complete the main quest, there unfortunately isn’t much to do with this pack. But you will get a livable world reminiscent of The Sims 2’s fam?ous Strangetown, which makes i?t all worth it.

Werewolves

The most recent of the occult Sim game packs, Werewolves is?? exactly what it sounds like â€?your Sims can be t??he fearsome beasts of folklore. 

You’ll get an impressive skill tree of abilities as a werewolf, as well as the moon phases system in the game. If you’re not into occult Sims, though, this pack i?s not for you. At least the world of Moonwood Mill is pretty.

My Wedding Stories

Weddings in The Sims have always notoriously been a bit of a mess to put together. Sims don’t want to sit where they need to, the groom and bride will disappear at random to do push-ups and other issues. My Wedding Stories helps you out and lets you plan a gorgeous ceremony for your Sims, complete with a brida?l party, cake tasting, and more.

Why is this only number seven on the list, then? This pack was completely broken upon launch. Quite literally, nothing worked as it was supposed to. Now that enough time ha?s passed that it’s been patched to oblivion, it mostly works fine. But we can’t forget its rough beginning.

Outdoor Retreat

The first game pack EA ever released, Outdoor Retreat is a bit outdated by current standards, but we’d still consider it a good one. If your Sims are dying to get back to n??ature, this i?s the pack to do it with.

Whether ??you prefer camping in a tent under the stars or in a rustic cabin, your Sims can take a vacation to scenic Granite Falls and enjoy the great outdoors. ??Catch bugs, have a bonfire, or take a hike.

Realm of Magic

If you’re craving to make your Sims witches and wizards with crazy spells to cast, then look no further than Realm of Magic. Your Sims can now be spellcasters, learn magic and potions, and enjo??y flying off on broomsticks.

Again, if you’re not a fan of occult Sims, you won’t get too much out of this game pack. But the CAS and build items are fantastic, and spellcasters are the least likely of occult Sims to cause you trouble. If you enjoy occult gameplay, then strap in because spellcasters are one of the best. It's even better than some of the Sims 4 cheats.

Vampires

It may have been the first of the occult game packs, but it’s still the best. Vampires gives you everything you could want for playing with blood-sucking creatures of the night, from making Nosferatu to sparkling Tw??ilight vampires.

Even if you don’t care about vampires, you’ll still have some of the best build-and-buy mode items to create creepy haunted homes with or beautiful Victorian mansions. Sure, Vlad ??will still show up at your door at 3 AM, but you get used to it.

Dream Home Decorator

Of all the active careers in The Sims 4, this one is the best. If you’re anything like me, you don’t care about building homes, but decorating them is your jam. That’s what Dream Home Decorator lets you do: go into other Sims�homes? ?and remake rooms according to your vision.

If you’re a simmer who enjoys making hous??es and nothing else, this pack lets you enjoy your favorite part of the game while still enjoyin?g some live mode.

Dine Out

It’s true, this pack is still quite buggy. But it’s such a staple at this point that I almost can’t play without it. This pack lets your Sims go out ????to eat and even run their own restaurant. 

We’re all guilty of spending too much money on going out to eat, and with this game pack, your Sims can, too. It’s almost impossible to make a realistic town without at least one restaurant. Hence, Dine Out is so important.

Parenthood

If you want a game pack you’re going to use every time you play the game, then you need Parenthood. Particularly great for family and legacy playe?rs, your Sims can becom??e better parents, instill wisdom and values in their kids, and enjoy every stage of life more.

As soon as you get Parenthood, it will become a part of yo??ur game because every Sim is affected by it. While oth??er game packs can become easy to forget over time, this isn’t one of them.

In celebration of this anniversary, Maxis Studios is hosting a livestream event filled with notable Sims players and rewards. Here's what you need to know about the Sims 25 Hour Livestream event.

The Sims 25 Hour Livestream event release date and time

The Sims 25 Hour Livestream begins on Feb. 4, 2025, at 2 p.m. PT/4 p.m. CT/5 p.m. ET. It'll be available on YouTube and Twitch, and a few surprise guests will come along for the ride. The stream will celebrate all things Sims, touching up on iconic builds, stories, and possibly more information about the Sims 4 2025 roadmap.

A substantial free base game update will roll out dur??ing the 25 Hour Livestream event. Look forward to over 70 new in-game items, such as two additional hairstyles, goatee facial hair, and clothing expansio??ns in Create a Sim. This also includes Build Mode objects that will provide unique kitchen designs, children's toys, and more.

Two events will be available to play in The Sims 4 and The Sims Freeplay. Experience the nostalgia of the 2000s by unlocking items throughout The Sims' history.

Plus, it may require you to find Milk Cartons, which will presumably spawn around the Sims 4's worlds. In the world of life sim gaming, The Sims has always been a behemoth. As of last May, The Sims 4 has been played by over 81 million people, benefiting hugel??y from going free-to-play in 2022. However, free-to-play does not always mean free, and The Sims 4 is the perfect example of that?? fact. 

Yes, the base game and all of its content are free, but that’s where it ends. EA is constantly releasing new monetized packs, ki?ts, and expansions. At the time of writing, there ?are:

• 17 expansion packs, costing $39.99 each 
• 12 game packs, costing $19.99 each 
• 20 stuff packs, costing $9.99 each 
• 36 kits, costing $4.99 each 

While purchasing each new kit or pack that comes out might seem like a small amount, if you were to purchase all of the additional content in one splurge, you’d be parting with $1,299.15. That’s a hell of a lot for a “free�game. 

But is it necessary? Sadly, if you’re playing on? anything other than a PC or Mac, then the answer is yes. Console players are at the mercy of EA if they want to add additional items to their game, something which the developer itself has acknowledged, thanks to the newest “Cre?ator Kits�that are designed in collaboration with notable Custom Content (CC) creators. 

CC is nothing new; it’s been around for years, and talented designers have given PC and Mac players a? hoard of items that can be added to the game with relatively little effort and without parting with any money whatsoever. Even the creators who release their creations behind a paywall such as Patreon or Kofi usually release them to the masses after a fixed exclusivity period. 

It’s not hard to find, either. A quick Google search for �em>Sims 4 Custom Content�will bring up endless links to Tumblr pages listing a massive amount of CC ready to be do??wnloaded and added to your game. There are entire websites, such as The Sims Resource, entirely dedicated to collating CC and providing easy access for players to download. It’s easy, and most importantly, it’s free, which is only beneficial in a cost-of-living crisis. 

You could argue that all of these kits or expansions are optional, but there’s a degree of FOMO when it comes to The Sims 4 community. There’s a huge section of YouTube dedicated to speed builds, and the majority of the creators are given access to new packs for free in an aim to show it off and advertise it for those not lucky enough to be sponsored by EA. Even some challenges require certain packs to complete.

Watching these creators build stunning designs using items locked behind optional packs drive?s sales, and the FOMO is real. Of course, there are some things?? that CC just can’t provide, such as new features and worlds, but Custom Content offers close, if not identical, matches to many of the items offered in packs. 

It’s not as if you’re ??sacrificing style if you choose this route. CC creators spend a long time perfecting their styles, and many choose to create “Maxis? Match�items (those that can blend seamlessly with the “official�Sims 4 items) to be downloaded and enjoyed by PC players. Of course some creators design more realistic items as well, so the possibilities are endless. 

You can create incredibly detailed rooms using CC, tailored to not only your Sim’s style but yours as well. It’s not limited to Build or Buy Mode items either. There’s heaps of Create a Sim content, including everything from body hair and skin details to stunning designer go??wns and even recreations of real-life clothing items and shoes. 

Even if you spend money on CC and support creators through Patreon or Kofi, it inevitably ends up being cheaper than ?buying an actual expansion or game pack. Creators have released entire CC packs, filled with more items than EA would ever put into one of their own , with more color choices and fewer restrictions. 

The only thing that CC creators can’t do is give you more worlds to play in. Some mods allow it to a degree, but it’s not something that has been tapped into just yet, at least not that I’ve seen. Either way, it’s hard to?? argue against using CC if you can do so, given the amount of money you’ll be saving.

With The Sims franchise moving away from linear game releases and into the future, it’s not unusual to think that EA has simply abandoned the previous titles in the series. But, to everyone’s surprise, fans could rejoice that a new update was released for The Sims 3, the game’s first patch in ten years.

The patch, version number 1.69.47.024017, was released on January 13, 2025, with no prior warning?. It was released to fix the Alder Lake bug, where Windows players with newer Alder Lake processors wouldn’t be able to run the game at all through the EA? app. The patch now allows players to enjoy the game on their newer PCs.

EA quietly updates The Sims 3 for the first time in years so you can play on newer CPUs

The patch was released with no accompanying patch notes from EA, leaving it a m?ystery as to why this issue was finally fixed after years of the bug preventing fans from playing the third installment. Furthermore, the patch was only released for EA App users. No Steam update was released for the problem.

With the 25^th Anniversary Behind The Sims airing the next day on January 14, many fans hoped the patch would signal that EA would be debuting exciting news about the series that could pertain to the older games, like The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. However, this wasn’t the case, as the patch wasn’t mentioned during the video. Instead, we heard more news for The Sims 4, including three new creator kits.

The last update for The Sims 3 happened over ten years ago, back in 2014. Since then, EA has essentially abandoned the game in favor of focusing on the most recent mainline title in the franchise, The Sims 4. The fourth game is still the top priority for EA, as it continues to get ne?w expansions and updates regularly.

Even though it wasn’t mentioned during the latest Behind The Sims, there’s still a chance that there is hope for fans of the older Sims titles. Both The Sims 2 and the original The Sims are not available on the EA App, but if Electronic Arts is looking through their older games, it could also mean they’re working on making these two available or even making new content for Sims 3. While nothing is set in stone, it??’s certainly exciting for fans of the ??life simulator series.

Whether or not more updates are made, The Sims is celebrating its 25^th Anniversary of the franchise this year, with plenty of new updates and packs t??o look forward? to in celebration.

Behind the Sims 2025 brought many welcomed surprises for Simmers, from an all-new main menu look to a substantial 25-hour live stream for t?he game's birthday celebration. It's a lot to unpack, especially with the new update that launch??ed just after the event's conclusion.

To kick things off, the main menu update has already been released as a free base game update. You'll see a completely new design that gives a little more oomph to it, making your current save file the star of the show. I wasn't a big fan of how it looked before, in light of how it basically put all the premium add-ons right in your face. But now, the menu has some personality by spotlighting your Sims rather than things like expansion packs.

In addition to the main menu, the Jan. 14 Sims 4? update introduces improvements for the Townie houses. Go to the Pancake, Goth, Caliente, Landgraab, and BFF houses to see the l??atest design changes.

The next phase of the early 2025 Sims 4 roadmap is something to look forward to, with three new kits on the horizon. If you've been keeping up with the Sims, you may already know about it due to the leaks surrounding the new Creator Kits. This includes the Comfy Gamer, Secret Sanctuary, and the Casanova Cave. They'll all be coming out on Jan. 16, highlighting popular Sims icons like LilSimsie.

By next month, we'll finally celebrate the Sims 25th anniversary with the 25-hour live stream on Feb. 4, bringing over 70 new in-game items in a free base game update. It's the perfect time to experience some nostalgia with the long-running series. You'll also get the chance to acquire classic gems from the early days of the Sims, including the original alarm clock.

There are a few other reveals to look forward to, like the mysterious Nostalgia Now event from Jan. 27 - Jan. 31. My guess is that it will be an ode to all the Sims games, possibly having a kit of past collections. I'm hoping to see Build Mode content from Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims Bustin' Out, but of course, we'll have to see what? this event actually brings to the table.

The roadmap also promises a 'Motherlode Season' on Feb. 6 and a secret reveal on Feb. 25. Motherlode has always been the go-to cheat, providing money in an instant. I'm curious to see how a cheat could expand into something like an event or possible expansion pack. Though, I do think it would most likely be tied to a reward system, as we've seen with the winter drop. Only time wil?l tell what the mysterious content will be, but before then, we can at least dig into the latest main menu for some sweet new designs??.

The Sims 4 community is filled with incredibly clever players who come up with challenges and share them for others to complete, providing the rules and structure that even the most laid-back of players sometimes desperately need. From legacy-based challenges to those that almost cross the line into too dark, here are 15 excellent challenges to try if you’re looking to break the monotony of life in The Sims. 

Eras Legacy Challenge by Viniciusvill and Grenesims

Legacy challenges are nothing new to The Sims players. They were around long before The Sims 4 was released and remain the most popular and common type of challenge to this day. For the purposes of this list, I’ve tried to steer away from legacy-type challenges, but the Eras Legacy Challenge is just too good not to mention, especially for anyone who ca?n even remotely ??describe themselves as a Swiftie. 

The premise is simple and familiar: 10 generations of the same family, each with specific aspirations and traits, following rules designated for the specific generation. However, Viniciusvill and Grenesims have linked each generation to a Taylor Swift album, with all of the rules and guidelines reflecting the style an?d content of the album itself and the ‘eraâ€?that Taylor was going through at the time. 

Rags to Riches by James Turner

James Turner is a name that will be on this list more than once because he’s responsible for a large number of challenges that have appeared in The Sims for years now. He’s even done playthroughs of his own challenges on his YouTube channel, where you can also find very impressive speed builds to bin??ge. There are no official "rules" for this one, but the idea is easy to grasp.

The concept of Rags to Riches is simple. You start out with nothing by emptying out your Sim’s money supply and demolishing ?their house, and then you use what you have available to build your riches. You start out by collecting things around the world and selling them, quickly working your way towards buying an easel or similar skill-building item, until you’ve worked your way to being wealthy. It’s harder than it sounds, but the challenge is what makes it fun, and rewarding. 

Big Sister Challenge by Poballa

Remember when I said that some of these challenges border on being too dark? Well strap in, because the Big Sister Challenge is just the beginning. It’s extremely similar to the Rags to Riches Challenge, but it throws i?n a spot of murder and a couple of struggling children. To complete the challenge, you need to have a teenager and a child alone on a lot together, which is impossible to do if you don’t have mods to enable it, but that’s where the murder co?mes in. 

You cre?ate a family with a parent, a teenager, and a child. Then, you kill the parent in whatever way you see fit and must have the teenager work to provide for and look after the child. The teenager cann?ot interact with adults until they become one themselves, they can’t go to school, and you have to start on a 20x15 bulldozed lot. I told you, this one is pretty dark, but it’s weirdly rewarding to see the teenager succeed. 

Beach Chaos Challenge by Cometstales

The Beach Chaos Challenge does require you to have the Island Living expansion pack, but outside of that, the rules are simple. This challe??nge sees you living out an entire life as one Sim who never leaves Sulani, with specific actions that must be performed during each stage of life, such as creating a club during your childhood, or becoming estranged from your?? child during old age. 

While none of this is particularly hard to complete on its own, you have to consider that your Sim could die at any moment in a bizarre, unforeseen accident. You also have to consider that Sims don’t always do as theyâ€??™re told, and the life stages seem remarkably short when you have to complete certain things within their time frame. It’s easier said than done, but it’s fun to try. 

Off the Grid Challenge 

It’s unclear who originally came up with the concept of the Off the Grid Challenge, and it seems to have sprung up in light of the popularity of a poll from The Sims 4 themselves. Ho?wever, even without someone to pin it on, the Off t?he Grid Challenge has become a hugely popular one, and it’s easy to see why. It tests your ability to live without electricity or other outside energy sources. You can play it with just the base game, but it is worth noting that the Eco Lifestyle and Cottage Living packs make it a lot easier thanks to their inclusion of lots of Off the Grid-specific items. 

The challenge itself is simple, requiring you to begin with one sim and build up a community of people l??iving entirely off the grid using items that don’t require outside energy, and toilets that aren’t connected to any form of outside waste disposal. There’s a long list of?? rules for this challenge, and it’s worth checking them fully to understand what you’re truly getting into before you dive in. 

Every Occult Challenge by James Turner

I told you he’d be on this list a few times, and James Turner’s Every Occult Challenge definitely deserves to be here. There are seven different Occult Sims in The Sims 4, at least ones that you can actu??ally liv?e with, and this challenge calls for you to eventually end up living in a house shared with one Sim from each Occult. 

You start out with just your Sim, and you cannot create an?y Occult Sims for your household. Instead, you need to go out into the world and complete the differ??ent tasks that unlock each Occult. Then, you need to get them living with you one way or another. Each Occult has its own requirements and methods, and you also need to abide by the other rules, such as temporary states, as well. 

Alien Adoption Challenge by Pinstar

The Alien Adoption Challenge is unlike most other entries (aside from the next one) on this list, because it re?lies on your own willpower to prevent you from controlling the star of the challenge itself, an Alien toddler. The only input you ever get over the Aliens' life comes when creating it, and then once it reaches Young Adulthood. 

You'll need three packs if you want to try this challenge for yourself: Parenthood, Get to Work, and City Living. If you have any form of control issues, this is definitely not the challenge for you. The Alien Toddler can never be your active sim, so you will have absolu?tely no idea what it needs or wants. All of the Aliens' care must be carried out through the parent and sheer guesswork. 

Seven Toddler Challenge by James Turner

Back at it again, James Turner created this short but infuriating challenge back in 2017, and if you’re a parent or have any experience whatsoever with even one toddler, the name "Seven Toddlers Challenge" will already have you feeling on edge. 

The saving grace of this challenge is that you can hire a Nanny and use money cheats, but that’s where the happiness ends. You create one adult sim and then use the randomize tool to create seven toddlers, each of which needs to have a different trait to the others. You can never control the toddlers, and everything must be done through the adult. It sounds?? like hell, and it is hell, but definitely worth a try if you’re looking for something to test your patience or parenting skills. 

The Room Challenge by Katoregama

The Mansion Baron achievement is earned when a Sim has a house worth 350??,000 Simoleons, and has purchased 20 columns. That’s pretty simple if you go at it without added rules, but The Room Challenge takes this requirement and makes it near impossible, although not completely so. 

The Room Challenge calls for you to create a Sim w??ith any trait except ‘Lonerâ€? move them into an 8x8 room or house, and then remove the door. They’re now stuc?k in this tiny room, with no option to leave and zero contact with other Sims. Then, while in this room and without leaving, they must achieve the Mansion Baron Aspiration. Definitely a challenge, and fun to do it under such stringent limitations. 

Breed out the Weird Challenge

As with the Off the Grid Challenge, it’s damn near imposs??ible to figure out who first came up with this idea, but it’s been a constant presence in the list of popular challenges ever since. It’s all to do with creating the most bizarre-looking Sim you can, and then having children for generations unt??il they start to look less crazy. 

There h??ave been many names for this challenge over the years, including both �a href="//simsworldajourney.wordpress.com/2020/06/15/breed-out-the-weird/" target="_blank" rel="noreferre??r noopener">Breed out the Ugly�and “Weird to Normal� but the premise is exactly the same. It’s remarkably difficult to get rid of the less aesthetically pleasing aspects of your original Sim, and hard not to get attached to them?? in all their weirdness, but this challenge benefits from having no specific endpoint, simply ending when you’re happy with your eventual “normal�looking Sim. 

Asylum Challenge by Simswithcheese

Although Simswithcheese rewrote the rules of the Asylum Challenge to make them compatible with The Sims 4, the original idea emerged for The Sims 2, created by Scout, was revamped for The Sims 3 by Black S5678, and then revamped again for The Sims 4 by Simswi??thcheese. Regardless, the rules are the same and the challenge remains both stressful and rewarding in equal measure.&nb?sp;

To set up this challenge, you need to create eight Sims with the ‘Insane�trait and then put them together on one lot, or Asylum, if you will. You only get to control one of them, designated the “main Sim� and the others must not be clic??ked on at all. The aim of the challenge is to “fix�the main sim, and prove that th??ey’re fit to rejoin society and escape the Asylum. 

The No Buy Challenge by MissTrips

Like The Room Challenge, the No Buy Challenge also ends when you meet the requirements for the Mansion Baron Aspiration, but this one adds in? the rule of not being able to use Buy Mode outside of buying the initial indoor and outdoor trash cans, and a mailbox. That’s it. No more furniture or items can be purchased. Ever. 

From that point, you’re freely allowed to use Build Mode, but never Buy Mode. ??You’ll need to learn to build furniture, or use items in the world that are readily available to you, such as showers at the gym or benches that you can sleep on, to survive. You can befriend the Pancakes and use their Woodworking Bench, or earn items through careers, but you can never buy what you need. Tricky, but not impossible. 

Black Widow Challenge by Simalot

I’ve purposefully saved the darkest couple of challenges for near the end of this list, starting with the Black Widow Challenge. Like the Black Widow spider kills its partner after mating, the Black Widow Challenge is all about killing off husbands, and you need to kill 10 of them in order to complete the challenge. The concept originated in The Sims 2, which had ?an achievement of the same name for killing 5 spouses. 

There are multiple different difficulty levels you can choose for this challenge, including the Legendar??y difficulty that challenges you to complete the objectives before reaching the Adult life stage. We all know that Sims die accidentally all too easily, but killing them off on purpose? That’s easier said than done. 

Serial Killer Challenge by Perihelion

Perihelion actually designed the Serial Killer Challenge for The Sims 3, but it has transferred to The Sims 4 with ease and although it is incredibly dark, it’s one of the more fun challenges to c?omplete because it comes with an entire points system. Killing multiple Sims at once will earn you bonus points, while escaped intended victims will lose you points from your overall score. 

Th??e aim of the challenge is to kill as many Sims as you can in a certain amount of time, and they can’t b??e Sims you’ve created, either. You’ll need to go out and lure your victims back to your lot, and then kill them there. Again, actively trying to kill Sims never goes as you plan, and this one is harder to complete with a high score than it first seems.

Random Challenge by James Turner

To save us from the darkness of the previous two challenges, James Turner has a page on his website dedicated to his Random Challenge Generator. If none of the challenges I’ve mentioned previously float your boat, or you’ve already completed something similar??, you can always use this generator to come up with a challenge entirely unique to you. 

You can pick specific types of challenges, such as a Tiny Lot challenge or Single Pack, choose w??hich packs you own, and the generator will come up with something for you to try. These aren’t long-lasting or particularly hard to complete, but they are fun if you’re looking for something to break the monotony of your u??sual gameplay style, and they can kick-start your creativity in the case of burnout.

Barely a week into 2025 and there’s already a leak from The Sims 4, revealing three new Creator Kits headed to both PC an?d Console before th??e end of January, and they’re all worth getting in their own unique ways. 

Creator Kits are a relatively new type of bundle that came about in 2024, and are?? created in conjunction with prominent names in the Sims 4 community. This time, although there aren’t full details currently available for all ?three kits, one of them has been made with a certain well-known Sims 4 YouTuber. 

The Comfy Gamer Kit has been designed in collaboration with Kayla Sims, though any Sims player will know her better by her YouTube moniker “LilSimsie� She’s been covering The Sims for years, and has even had a direct impact on the game itself, causing Cow Plants to be namable, although all Cow Plants are named “Lil Simzee�by default in her honor. She’s also well known for creating popular Sims 4 challenges, so it’s not too much of a surprise that her name is attached to the gaming-centric new Kit.&??nbsp;

Other than the Comfy Gamer Kit, we’re also getting the Secret Sanctuary and Casanova Cove Kits. the Secret Sanctuary Kit is set to feature “iconic fash?ionâ€?inspired by Italian ?design, and build items that will help to create a secret hideaway, including what appears to be a hidden bookshelf door. 

The Casanova?? Cove?? Kit, on the other hand, is more masculine, which is something that has definitely been lacking in previous kits. It’s set to include a new bar, coffee table, and masculine fashions for all of your male sims. 

It is, admittedly, a little strange to see Kits with both Create a Sim and Build Mode content, as previous ones have been restricted to being one or the other. These three kits were also not among the options in October's â€?a href="//simscommunity.info/2024/10/22/upcoming-sims-4-kits-survey/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Upcoming Kits Su??rveyâ€? either, so hopefully some of the options from the list a??t the time will become available soon. 

T??hese Kits are set to be released on January 16, and will likely stick to the same $4.99 USD price point of previous Kits.

Cozy Celebrations presents six Quests that'll unlock gradually for the next few weeks. When you begin your Sims 4 playthrough, you'll receive a notification from Jasmine Holiday. She'll provide you with details on what to do by giving you tasks, which can be found in the top-left corner of the scr??een. Each quest involves several objectives centering around a partic?ular theme.

Complete any tasks to earn Cozy Celebrations Event Points. It shouldn't be too challenging, often involving a simple conversation with a Sim or cooking up some grub with your culinary skills. Additionally, if you want to see more objectives, select the Plumbob icon in the top-left corner. Then, exchange EP by selecting Jasmine Holiday's icon near the tasks. You can also collect them directly on the Event page. Continue to achieve these quests as they roll out to earn all the rewards from The Sims 4 Cozy Celebrations.

They're great additions for expansion packs, such as Seasons and Snowy Escape. However, do keep in mind that it's not necessary to buy any Sims 4 add-ons, given that the event is free to p?l??ay for all users.

Sims 4 Skill cheats guide (2024)

To use cheat codes in Sims 4, you must enable them first. For PC users, it's 'Ctrl + Shift + C'. If you're a Mac user, it's 'Command + Shift + C.' For console users, whether PlayStation or Xbox, you just need to hold down all four shoulder buttons simultaneously. A text box will appear in the top left corner to enter your desired cheats. The primary string you need to enter is 'stats.set_skill_level [Skill Name] X'. Replace X with 1-10 to set y?our Sim's?? skill level, where 10 is the standard maximum rank. Customizing everything about your Sims is one of the major draws of The Sims 4. F??rom their hair color, eye color, skin co??lor, clothing, accessories, and more, every minute detail about your Sims is up for you to decide.

There is one outfit, however, that doesn’t appear in Create-a-Sim for you to al??ter, and that’s your Sim’s work clothes. This can be an issue if your Sim shows up to their high-profile lawyer career in swim trunks. Luckily, we’re here to show you how to modify your sim’s career outfit. 

How to change a Sim’s work outfit in The Sims 4

In? order to change yo?ur Sim’s work clothes, you’ll need to use the cheat ‘Sims.Modify_Career_Outfit_in_CAS�in the cheat console. By entering this cheat, you’ll be taken into Create-a-Sim mode, and be free to choose their clothing when they go to work.

To bring up the cheat console, hit Shift + Ctrl + C on PC, Command + Shi?ft ?+ C on Mac, or all four shoulder buttons on consoles. You can copy and paste the cheat directly into the top-left, hit enter, and be whisked into CAS. 

There are no limi?ts on what clothing pieces you can wear since the career outfit has no specific tags in CAS. If you want your Sim to show up in a clown costume for work, it can be done. Once you’re finished picking out their outfit, make sure to exit Create-a-Sim using the checkmark in the bottom right corner.

Now, whenever it’s time for your Sim to go to work, they’ll change into the outfit you’ve picked out for them. Whether they're a simple teacher or help out the Grim Reaper, they'll look good.

How to modify career outfits in The Sims 4

Luckily, if you’re unhappy with the look you’ve created for your Sim, you’re free to change your work outfit at any time. Simply enter?? the cheat again to change it up some more. There are limits to how many times you alter a work outfit.

Be aware that each time your Sim gets promoted, you’ll have to update their work outfit again. Many careers come with specific clothes your Sim will wear on the job and these update with each promotion they receive. The cheat will be the same each time, so remember to use it after they get a promoti?on. 

Career outfits are the only outfi??ts you aren’t ?able to alter in the standard Create-a-Sim mode. While this makes sense when first creating a Sim, since they don’t have jobs yet, you aren’t able to do it when reopening the normal CAS after getting a job.

Sadly, there is no way to change the o?utfit a Sim wears to work without cheats. You’ll need to bring up the cheat console and type it in if you want to customize what your Sims wear when they go to work.

The Grim Reaper is one of the most feared entities in history, as well as in The Sims 4. He comes when??ever death calls, to ferry souls to t??he afterlife and beyond. So, of course, there are simmers who are interested in having a baby with him.

Sadly, it’s not exactly straightforward how to actually get Grim to impregnate your Sim like it is w?ith Father?? Winter or other NPCs. That’s why we’re here, so your Sim can have as many Grim Reaper babies as their heart desires.

How to get pregnant by the Grim Reaper in The Sims 4

First things first, you need to get the Grim Reaper to show up by having a Sim die. Once he does, open up the cheat console using CTRL + Shift + C on PC, Command + Shift + C on Mac, or hitting all four shoulder buttons on console. Tu?rn on testing cheats by typing ‘testingcheats on�and hitting enter.

Shift-click on the Grim Reaper when he’s on your active lot and choose?? to add him to your active Sim’s family. He’ll now no longer disappear as soon as he’s done reaping the departed soul. 

In order to unlock all the normal Sim interactions with him, you’ll need to cheat again. Open the cheat console and enter ‘traits.remove_trait IsGrimReaper� This will essentially take away his Grim Reaper status so he can be interacted with like any other Sim and do things other Sims can like go fishing.

From there, simply get pregnant the good old-fashioned Sims way �build up your Si??m’s relationship with Grim, and once their relationship level is high? enough, choose to try to have a baby with him. 

Sadly, there is no way to have a baby with the Grim Reaper without cheats. You'll need to use them if you want?? Grim for your baby daddy.

How to have a child with the Grim Reaper in The Sims 4

Now that your Sim is pregnant by the Grim Reaper, you can continue playing normally. There’s nothing special about t??he pregnancy, as it will last the same amount of time and deliver the same way as? any other Sim baby. 

You are free to keep the Grim Reaper in your family and be a good husband and father to the little one. However, you can also choose to send him on his way by reversing the cheats. Enter ‘trait?s.equip_trait IsGrimReaper�and shif??t-click on him to remove him from the active household. This will let the Grim Reaper return to his active duties. 

Unfortunately, unlike some NPCs, your newborn?? won’t get any special traits or abilities from being fathered by Grim. They?? will be a pretty normal Sim. However, he does have specific genetics he can pass on, like skin and eye color.

The latest Sims expansion gives a much-needed makeover to one of the previously overlooked occults, ghosts. Each Sim upon their death is able to become a wand?ering spirit, causing mischief or good fortune to those they come across. 

Sims who are still alive might be scared or unnerved by these specters, however some will be in tune with them. Life and Death lets you unloc??k the? Ghost Whisperer trait if you want your Sim to be close to the spirits, and here’s how you get it.

How to unlock the Ghost Whisperer trait in Sims 4 Life and Death

The only way to get the Ghost Whisperer trait without using Life and Death cheats is to complete the Ghost Historian aspiration. This aspiration focuses on leveling up the Thanatology skill and Writing skill, along with befriend?i??ng ghosts and exploring Ravenwood.

Here is a full breakdown of each level of the Ghost? Historian aspiration??, and what you need to accomplish at each level:

Most of these tasks are fairly straightforward, such as leveling up skills, befriending ghosts, and writing a book. In order to find a rare item, head to Ravenwood and choo?se to explore any of the underground crypts around. These are rabbit holes that will let you choose which path to take. Keep exploring new ones until you get rare items.

Making contact with Edith is a bit more difficult since you’ll need to make contact with a few other Sims first. Find Alice in Ravenwood and choose to ask about Alice’s sorrow. This will kick off a short quest to contact various family members until you reach E??dith. You only need to contact her once to satisfy the requirements. You can typically find Alice at the Well of Longing and Regret at Crow’s Crossing, where you can begin the quest.

Ghost Whisperer trait bonuses in Sims 4 Life and Death

The Ghost Whisperer trait comes with a few perks, mo??st notably that you’ll have a much easier time? making friends with ghosts. You’ll unlock new interactions to discuss all their spooky findings with others, and your Sim will also enjoy encountering all types of spirits, from crows to Grim. 

Ghost Whisperers are the? best Sims if you want to make friends with all the spirits in Ravenwood and beyond. It’s a great trait for those who live in town.

How to reincarnate your Sims through Rebirth in Sims 4 Life and Death

There are two ways your Sim can experience rebirth in Life and Death, but both requi?re your Sim to have reached the Dreams Fulfilled level of their Soul’s Journey. Once you’ve done so, once? your Sim is dead, you can choose rebirth, or if your Sim is a ghost they can swim in the Baleful Bog in Ravenwood.

Either one of these will let your Si??m be reincarnated as a new Sim, in a new family. You can choose which?? family they’ll be born into by choosing the lot, or an unoccupied lot if you want to build a new family.

Reborn ??Sims will start out as an infant but with the Reborn trait. They are fully customizable, although you c??an make them resemble their past life if you want.

When a Sim is reborn, they’ll still maintain some connections to their old life, such as family, friendly, and romantic relationships remaining somewhat familiar, though it won’t be the same as before. Your Sim can be reborn as many times as you want, and you can check the counter in CAS to see how many times they’ve reincar?nated.

How to reach Dreams Fulfilled in Sims 4 Life and Death

Reaching?? the Dreams Fulfilled level of the Soul’s Journey can be accomplished by completing g?oals off their Bucket List, or if your Sim is a ghost, completing their Unfinished Business.

You can find these goals by clicking on your Sim’s aspiration, and their Soul’s Journey will pop up. There are quite a few levels before you get to Dreams Fulfilled, so th??is is something you’ll need to put time into?.

These goals are different from wants since they tend to be larger than just grab a drink or chat with a friend. They can range from having adventures to having a close family. Your Sim can also level up by completing goals in their as??piration. 

If you reach The Big Picture level of? your Soul’s Journey, which is a step above Dreams Fulfilled for Ghost Sims, you’ll get additional benefits such as the Burning Soul trait and two added interactions: Recall Pas??t Life and Peer Into Soul.

No Sim lives forever, and that’s just what the newest expansion pack, Life and Death, is all about. Your Sims can become well acquainted with death in this pack, by be?coming a Grim Reaper, reincarnating, ??and more. 

But, what about the Sims the dearly departed left behind? They hold a funeral, of course. We’re here to show you everything you need to know about holding a funeral in The Sims 4.

How to plan a funeral in The Sims 4 Life and Death

First things first, a Sim must die. After that, you can click on their urn to begin planning the event. Luckily, the deceased Sim doesn’t have to be a part of the household, or e??ven friends with your Sim, so long as their urn is nearby.

You can also set up a funeral from the calendar, by choosing a date and selecti?ng to add a funeral event. 

You’ll get the popup to plan the event, which is similar to other events in The Sims 4 like weddings and birthday parties. You’ll choose who to invite, and the dress code, and you can even hire mourners to att??end.

There are two other tabs, one to choose the activities you need to complete at the funeral such as eulogies, toasts, and more. You need at least three activities. The other tab ?lets you choose the location for the funeral, typically at a cemetery, b?ut you can also hold them in certain public locations like parks.

How to host a funeral in The Sims 4 Life and Death

During the actual funeral, the attendees with show up at the location you’ve picked and begin typica?l funeral activities. Depending on what you planned, you’ll need to complete all the activities you’ve chosen in order to have a successful funeral.

You can earn higher badges for funerals though, by completing extra activities listed in the top left underneath how much time is left for the event. This, again, is very similar to how previously existing events work in the game, although Life and Death throws a few new activities in.

You can mourn at the Sim’s cask?et, give a eulogy at the podium, light candles for the deceased, and interact with their f??riends and family to share your grief. 

After the funeral is over, you’re still able to mourn for the deceased Sim at their gravesite, or their urn if you choose to keep them in there. If t??he deceased Sim still lingers around in a ghostly form, you can choose to free their soul from the Netherworld and allow them to move on. However, you’ll no longer be able to interact with t?hem as a ghost. Regardless if they’re a ghost or not, though, you can still mourn them.

But, with cheats, your Sim can grieve however you’d like them to. These cheats also allow you to be promoted and reach the top of the two new careers, Mortician and Reaper, and max out your Thanatology skill in an instant to get the most out of Life and Death.

How to use cheats in The Sims 4

To enter these cheats, hit Shi??ft + CTRL + C on a PC, Co??mmand + Shift + C on a Mac, or all four shoulder buttons on a console. This will bring up the cheat console.

There are endless collectibles your Sims can enjoy in The Sims 4, ranging from common items l?ike?? flowers and berries to more outlandish things like aliens inside jars. All of them have value, though, and are worth getting a hold of.

The Pomegranate, for example, may seem like a common fruit to have in your inventory, but it’s actually incredibly useful. It’s also not as easy to get as you'd think. So here's how to get a Pomegranate in The Sims 4.

How to graft a Pomegranate in The Sims 4

The easiest way to get a Pomegranate is simply to buy one from your Sim's phone under gifts, and choose gardening for the category. However, you can also graft one using an Apple and a Cherry. You’ll need to be at least level five in ??the Gardening skill to graft, so have your Sim reach this level first. You can achieve this by growing the Apple trees and?? Cherry trees to take the cutting from.

Once you’re at the proper level, and you have both Ch??erry and Apple trees, select to take a cutting from one. Then, click on the other tree to choose graft, and you’ll get a spliced plant. 

This plant will grow Che??rries, Apples, and Pomegranates, whi??ch you can then harvest for the fruit you need.

If you want an unlimited supply of Pomegranates, take the fruit and plant it. This will eventually grow into a Pomegranate tree, and you can continue gathering this fruit daily during the winter when it grows. If you plan on making lots of Ambrosia, this is a great tree to have around.

How to get Apples and Cherries for Pomegranate

Luckily, the two fruit trees you need aren’t as difficult to get a hold of. Y?ou can find Apple trees already growing in Willow Creek at Magnolia Blossom Park, that you can harvest and plant in the ground for your own tree.

For a Cherry, you can head to the Skyward Palms neighborhood of Oasis Springs. Cherry trees will grow in this area, and you c?an again harvest one and plant it on your lot for your own Cherry tree.

You will need a tree in order to take cut??tings from it, not just the fruits on their own.

How to level up the Gardening skill fast

One of the more difficult parts of getting a Pomegranate is getting high enough in the Ga??rdening skill to be able to gra?ft. Luckily, you will earn skill just by tending to your Cherry and Apple trees, especially if your Sim is in a Focused mood. 

You’ll need to tend to your pla?nts daily, which will build up the skill over time. You can also read Gardening skill books purchased from any bookshelf, to help speed the process up. This way, even when your Sim isn’t gardening, they can keep building the skill.

What fits better in a haunted house than a creepy haunted mirror? If your Sims are looking for something horrific, this mod is perfect. The Haunted Mirror mod by Sacrificial Mods lets your Sims unleash a gho??stly bride named Hannah by chanting her name into the mirror.

Beware, though, since Hannah will then make it her mission to kill your Sims. She’ll use methods like her demon powers and even a chainsaw to get the job done. Make sure to protect yourself. Sacrif??icial makes some amazing mods, a lot of them horror-themed, so it’s no surprise we’ll see them again on th?is list. 

Island Living Sirens

Unlike the other occults in the game, unfortunately, mermaids are pretty basic when it comes to skills and powers. But, with the Siren mod from Zero, you can turn your regular mermaid into a man-eating horror fr?om th?e deep ocean.

By having your mermaid eat the Siren Kelp, they’ll transform into a horrific creature capable of drinking the blood of any helpless Sim in the water. They can lure them in using a siren’s song, and drink blood just like vampire??s. Even more, sirens can even drink enough blood ??to kill the Sim. 

Zombie Apocalypse

If you’ve ever wanted your Sims to face the challenge of the walking dead, then the Zombie Apocalypse mod from Sacrificial Mods?? is what you need. Y??ou can cause your entire world to be infected with a zombie plague that requires grit, cunning, and plenty of supplies to survive.

If you want to take the villain route, you can spread the virus yourself to end the world. It’s up ??to you how your Si??ms survive, or don’t survive, the zombie apocalypse. It even includes an in-depth survivor system so your Sims can become saviors in a world taken over by the hungry undead.

Monster Factory

Frankenstein is one of the most ubiquitous creatures when it comes to Halloween, and now you can have him in your Sims 4 game. With the Monster Factory mod from Necrodog, your Sims can become the ultimate mad scientist and c??raft a terrifyi??ng monster to lurch about. 

Your?? Sim will need to purchase body ??parts to craft their monster, and using the various scientific objects will create a brand new life, with bandages and all. 

Extreme Violence

This one is definitely not for kids. Extreme Violence, another great mod by Sacrificial, brings all sorts of violence and gore to?? your game. Not only does it include endless w??ays to kill other Sims, ranging from stabbing to beating, but it also includes a reputation system and the ability to join gangs.

It’s the best mod around if you’re looking to make a creepy serial?? killer terrorizing the town, or even just spice up your vanilla gameplay. Each death comes with its own animation, and th?ere’s plenty of blood included in each one. While this mod is great year-round, Halloween is a particularly great time to bring some violence to your Sims.

Cannibalism

You can give your Sims a taste for human flesh using the Cannibalism mod from Necrodog. When standing at the cannibalism altar, your Sim can choose to eat the heart of a dead cannibal to begin their culinary journe??y into eating other Sims.

Once you’re a cann?ib?al, your Sim can choose to kill and eat any Sim they want or perform autopsies on already deceased Sims to harvest their flesh for consumption. If you have the Monster Factory mod from above, you can even use those same harvested parts to create your monster. What a crossover!

Possessed Child

A young boy named Jonathon Colby had a short, horrible life, but now he’s back for revenge. With the Possessed Child mod from Sacrificial, if ?your Sim chants Jonathan’s name at his g??rave, his spirit will be unleashed to wreak havoc and horror on any Sim that gets too close. He can stab, bite, and even steal your soul.

Not only does this mod let your Sims take on?? this horrifying ghost, but they can even choose to become the possessed child themselves to go on a most horrible murder spree. There’s nothing spookier than demon children during Halloween, and that’s why this mod?? is perfect for this time of year.

Nights of Terror

Another mod from Sacrificial Mods, Nights of Terror allows for a great scary challenge for your Sims. For three hours, a terrifying entity known as The Blood Huntress will cause untold chaos and horror during a Night of Terror. She’ll kill anyone ??who gets in her way, in some truly horrifying ways.

Your Sim is able to fight back and protect themselves from The Blood Huntress, but it won’t be easy. And, if your Sim is killed by her, they don’t even get a visit from the Grim Reaper. They just be??come a pile of bones as their soul is lost. How horrifying!

Vampires Can Kill

Vampires are definitely an in-depth occult in Sims 4, but unfortunately, they aren’t particularly dangerous because they can’t kill any Sims. The Vampires Can Kill mod from Zero changes that and allows your vampires the ability to dri?nk so much blood that they kill their victims.

There’s nothing worse than when you’re enjoying your Sims 4 g?ame only to stumble upon an error. It can ruin your whole flow, whether you’re making a new family, decorating, or building a house.&nb??sp;

One particular error, the Script Call Failed bug, can upset the entire house-building process. You'll want it solved before the new expansion, Life and Death, comes out. If you need help fixing this error in your Sims 4 game, we’re here to help.

How to solve Script Call Failed error in The Sims 4

The most likely culprit for this error is outdated mods or custom content. You’ll want to remove all your mods and custom content from the game, clear local cache files, and then reload your save to see if th??is solves the issue.

To do that, head into your Documents folder and find Electronic Arts, then The Sims 4 files. You’ll be able?? to find your Mods folder here, where all your mods are. Simply click and drag this file anywhere you want.

Next, yo?u’ll want to delete the localthum?bnail.package file from that same The Sims 4 folder. This should clear the cache for you.

Reload your game without the mods, and you should no longer get this error when you’re placing furniture or Build Mode items. You'll be able to place them freely?? without issue.

If this doesn’t work, make sure to repair the game fi??les, too. In th??e EA app, right-click on The Sims 4 and choose Repair.

How to find broken custom content and mods in The Sims 4

The most likely culprit for the Script Call Failed error is UI mods. Things like Basemental, MC Command Center, and mods like that cause the most bugs. Make su??re they’re updated to the? latest versions and that the latest version is up to date with the latest patch.

You can use TwistedMexi’s Better Exceptions mod, which will run in-game to lo??cate broken or outdated files for you. 

For a more in-depth search, open your mods folder and take half the mods out. You can place them in another folder to save for later. Run the game, and if the error persists, it’s one of the mods still left. Continue taking out half of the mods and relo?ading the game unti?l you’ve found the problem. This method, unfortunately, takes a while, but it is a surefire way of finding the issue.

Once you’ve found the problem mod, you can simply remove it and put your mods folder back into your game. This will let you keep all your custom content and mods while still fixing the Sc?ript Call Failed bug.

As The Sims 4 goes o??n, i??t seems like more dishes for your Sims to cook up are added all the time. Delicious desserts, yummy soups, and more are at your disposal to keep your Sims fed and happy.

One dish, though, is special. Not only does it look delicious, but this meal can bring any deceased Sim back to life. If you need help making it, we’re here to show you all the ingredients to? whip it up.

All ingredients needed for Ambrosia in Sims 4

You’ll need three different ingredients to make Ambrosia, as well as being level ten in both t?he cooking and gourmet cooking skills:

• Death Flower
• Potion of Youth 
• Angelfish

Once you have all three and have reached the maximum skill levels for both cooking and gourmet cooking, you can go to any fridge or stove and?? choose Ambrosia. Be aware that if you haven’t reached the max level for both skills, it will not appear at all when you choose to cook.

Death Flower

A Death Flower can be made by grafting an ??Orchid and a Pomegranate together. You??’ll need to be level five in the gardening skill to unlock grafting, so ensure you’ve reached this level first. 

Orchids can be made by grafting a Lily and a Snapdragon together, and a Pomegranate can be made by grafting an Apple with a Cherry. Once you have cuttings of Orchid and Pomegranate, graft them together, and you’ll get a Deat??h Flower in your Sim’s inventory??.

Potion of Youth

The Potion of Youth can be bought as a Satisfaction Reward in the store. It will cost you 1,500 Satisfaction Points. You can earn more points b??y completing whims your Sims have and by completing levels of your Sim?’s aspiration. 

It w??on’t take too long t?o get to 1,500 points, as most whims are pretty simple. You’ll likely earn enough points just by keeping your Sim fed and happy and while collecting the other ingredients and getting to the correct skill levels.

Angelfish

Angelfish can be caught in any body of water, so long as you’v?e reached level three in the f?ishing skill. Without this skill at the right level, you simply can’t catch them.

How to level the Cooking and Gourmet Cooking skills fast

The largest hurdle for making Ambrosia is leveling up your skills enough to unlock the recipe. However, both skills can be leveled up fas?t by cooking meals and snacks in your kitchen.

Your Sim’s cooking skill will need to be at level five to unlock gourmet cooking, and then you can choose to cook gourmet? dishes at any stove or fridge. Cook every meal your Sim eats to level it up faster.

In a Sim’s spare time, you can also purchase the skill books for both cooking and gourmet cooking so th?ey can gain ??experience even if they aren’t hungry. You can find these books on any bookshelf by searching for skill books, and both will appear on the list. They have three volumes each. 

Once you’ve finally had your Sim reach level ten in both skills,? Ambrosia will appear when you choose to cook a gourmet dish. And it’s free to mak??e! So long as you have all the ingredients, you’re good to whip it up.

How to revive Sims with Ambrosia in Sims 4

Ambrosia can be ??eaten like all other food, bu??t to get the most use out of it, you’ll want to use it to bring a Sim back to life. All you need to do is have a Sim’s ghost eat the dish, and by the power of food, they’ll be brought back to life exactly as they were. 

Ambrosia can also be used on your Sim’s beloved pets if you have the Cats & Dogs or Horse Ranch expansion if you want to bring their furry companions back to life?. Place a dish of it on the floor, and any ghost cat or dog that eats it will also be brought back to life. You can also make it into a horse or pet treat.

You can also store Ambrosia in the fridge, like any ot?her dish. This is a great backup if you want your S?ims to be immortal or if they died before they were supposed to. 

While it takes a lot of work to get, Ambrosia is one of the most valuable resources in the game. However, if you’re not in the mood to do all that work, you can just cheat. In the gallery, l?ook up Ambrosia and there will be tons of prema??de rooms containing the dish. Place it and use it all you want.

The color swatches work together well, despite being mismatched. 

If you’ve ever browsed Tumblr for Custom Content, you’ve likely heard of Myshunosun. They produce beautiful Maxis Match CC furniture and clutter?? objects, filled with detail and they’re also very talented when it comes to CaS CC.  

Sweet Slumber Party by Trillyke

The Sweet Slumber Party Creator Kit is a CaS kit, filled with new adorable pajama outfits and pieces that can be worn by any Sim ages Teen or older. The official images shared for the announcement of the pack show a lot of new and? interesting pieces, including some space-themed jammies, as well as some skincare basics. 

Again, you’ve probably come across Trillyke if you’ve ever browsed Tumblr for CC. They’ve got a lot of incredible Maxis Match CaS CC available for download, and some of them are in my own CC collection. I’m very excited to see so??me of their designs be included in a Creator Kit, opening up their talent to all players.

The free-to-play model is a little on the expensive side if you want cosmetics and more characters, but playing from the base roster is also entertaining to start Apex Legends with.

If you're annoyed you can't play Super Smash Bros. on PC, check out Brawlhalla. It features a smooth platform fighter experience that plays great online. One of the game's unique strategic elements is switching two weapons available to each play?er. My Hero Ultra Rumble

Anime fans, rejoice! My Hero Ultra Rumble is a neat battle royale take on the beloved anime series. Each hero or villain has their own quirks that change the battle. If you don’t want to shoot down?? enemies in Call of Duty Warzone or Fortnite, My Hero Ultra Rumble offers a refreshing take on the genre.

Emily is Away is a nostalgic ??journey back into the Windows XP era of communication. There was no Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram. Instead, you used to chat on AOL Instant Messenger. There's a beautifully told narrative about two friends who have grown apart from each other since high school and are trying to reconnect. Despite there being no voice acting, all the emotional beats are there, as you await Emily's response. Try this one-hour game out when you can. It's one of the best free g??????????????????????????ames on Steam.

Guild Wars 2

Can't afford Final Fantasy XIV Online or don't want to bother with the Battle.net client on PC for World of Warcraft? Guild Wars 2 is a good third option for an MMO. You can play the entirety of the engaging core campaign for free. However, there are restrictions you should keep in mind, like locked content until you reach a certain level. Despite that one fault, Guild Wars 2 offers a stunning world enric?hed with entertaining MMORPG gameplay.

Farlight 84

Tired of Fortnite and want something new? Farlight 84 may be your antidote. It blends the art style of Epic Games�battle royale and mixes it with the ability-based system of Apex Legends. The weapons feel heavy and powerful, and the overall environments look pleasing to the eye. Just turn off the voice acting; it’s pretty bad!

Disney Speedstorm

Want a fun Mario Kart-like game without having to re?sort to emulation? Disney Speedstorm is a ??great free-to-play substitute. The tracks are immaculately designed and based on the films we know and love like Lilo & Stitch, Aladdin, and Pirates of the Caribbean. You’ll b?e avoiding pillars of fire within the Cave of Wonders and giant tentacles from sea monsters in Port Royal. While the items are disappointingly generic for a Disney game like this, there is a neat alternate use for most of them by holding down the button. For example, with a boost (mushroom), you can hold it to get three smaller bursts of speed rather than just one. Read my review for more information.

Marvel Snap

Everyone knows and loves the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so a card game based on the property could be a cheap cash-in. Fortunately, Marvel Snap is a cherished title for fans of card games, and it's free to play. "At work and at home, I just can’t put it down," said CJ Andriessen in his review. "With its structure and speed, it doesn’t feel as tactical as some of the other card games I’ve played, but it finds a way to be satisfying in its brevity." Each match in Marvel Snap also only lasts for three or so minutes, as opposed to Hearthstone, making this quick and easy to play.

Path of Exile

Path of Exile, despite it being a free Steam game, is an excellent alternative to the Diablo series if you crave more ARPG goodness. It features a tonne of passives to unlock through the huge skill tree system. It also includes plenty of classes, including the Duelist, Marauder, Ranger, Scion, Shadow, Templar, and Witch. Path of Exile will offer hours upon hours o??f content for the low, low price of $0, and it also ?has PvP modes like tournaments and Capture The Flag.

Team Fortress 2

A cherished multiplayer game for many Team Fortress 2 is an absolute classic. This team-based shooter has you playing different roles. One can be the Heavy, dealing a lot of damage with his mini-gun. Another?? player can send out Sentries ?and Teleporters throughout the map as the Engineer. There are many options available, so you can find the right playstyle. Despite the game being over a decade old, it still holds up visually with a cartoony art style. Give it a go if you haven't already.

Living out your dreams as a Sim doesn't necessarily sound fun, but The Sims 4 somehow sucks you in for many hours at a time. All of this is now free to play on Steam, so go ahead and download The Sims 4, if you want a chill simulation game to play.

Warframe

It's been a decade, but Warframe still pulls in players today. This game is ?extremely fast with powerful guns and delightful swordpla??y. It's been supported thoroughly by developer Digital Extremes. The game added an open world, and there is spaceship warfare to be had. The art style is also unabashedly strange as it embellishes its sci-fi genre with pride.

Omega Strikers

The precision of the MOBA gameplay of League mixed with the sport o??f soccer doesn’t sound like a great mix?, but Omega Strikers certainly proved me wrong. Each character has their own skills to master while you’re trying to score a goal. You can even take out your foes with your abilities by striking them? out of the arena. The graphics are gorgeous, the concept r?eally comes through, and the head-bump-worthy music will keep your heart racing. Check this game out!

Splitgate

If you thought Halo Infinite’s multiplayer was disappointing, give Splitgate a go. This arena shooter offers cool weapons to control and a unique mechanic that lets you use portals to shoot through or teleport with. In my opinion, the maps are far more interesting than their Xbox-published counterpart. There are many modes to choose from as well, and you can create C?ustom Lobbies with all manner of rules available, including Big-Head mode.

DC Universe Online

We've all wanted to step into the shoes of Batman and Superman, and you can get that power fantasy by creating your own hero or villain in DC Universe Online. Behind it is over a decade of content with plenty of DC stories and experiences to encounter in this free-to-play MMO. Some of the quests are written by DC comic legends Geoff Johns and Marv Wolfman. Unlike others of its genre, the combat's fast and revolves around your choice of superpower. The game might be 13 years old, but it's still getting Very Positive reviews on Steam to this day.

PlanetSide 2

PlanetSide 2 is a massive FPS that spans across wide environments and many players against each other. It's not just about capturing points on a map like the Battlefield series. It also says you'll have to work "strategically as a team to secure tactical positions has long-lasting effects that can shift the tide of battle." There are six different classes to master as well as you go to war in PlanetSide 2.

Want a fresh spin on the battle royale genre? Well, you can play this cute take on it as you play as animals picking up weapons and trying to be the last remaining. Super Animal Royale features unique 2D bird's eye view angle on the action. The action gets wild with bombs of different types, grenades, and dart guns, in addition to the regular guns you'd expect like a shotgun or SMG. You have a fun, slightly less intense night with Super Animal Royale than the likes of Apex Legends, which needs precision in a reflex-based first pe?rson-sh??ooter.

Dark & Darker

Those who like sickeningly hard games will find comfort in Dark & Darker. In a D&D-like dungeon, you’re exploring an ancient citadel thwart with many dangers. You’ll be taking on tough monsters and making your way through the depths of this citadel to get the treasure you’re seeing. You can play as a barbarian, a ranger, and a bard in a three-person squad as you turn off lights to get away from enemy detection and utilize magic to gain the upper hand. The game is currently in early access, but it has a Mostly Positive score on Steam right now.

MultiVersus

After disappearing for almost a year, MultiVersus has returned stronger than ever with new characters like The Powerpuff Girls and Beetlejuice taking on the likes of Bugs Bunny and Superman. Some of the new stages like the Warner Bros Water Tower are also bright, beautiful, and fun to play on. The Sims 4 Life and Death expansion pack trailer gives Sims another shot at life with the latest haunting features. From funerals to the new Ravenwood neighborhood, there's plenty of spooktacular content to go around, perfect for its Halloween debut on Oct. 31, 2024.

Right from the start, the reveal offers a tantalizing glimpse of a new clairvoyant feature: tarot cards. Your Sim will be able to peer into their future, trusting in the heart of the cards. But the one I'm most excited to see is the upcoming funeral event. It's a sentence I never thought I'd write, but in the Sims universe, the unexpected is always just aroun??d the corner.

Thi??s long-awaited mechanic finally allows you to set up a service after a death in the family. In its current version, these moments fall fairly flat, only making Sims cry for a few days until they just somehow get over it. Now, these moments will continue on Maxis Studios' push for realism, bringing new Grief stages such as Denial, Holding It Together, Anger, and Blues.

If you have a knack for mortality, there are two new career choices to try out: Undertaker and the Reaper Profession. I've always wanted to know more about the infamous Sims Grim Repear, and fortunately, the expansion pack may dive further into its ??lore. Even more so, you'll gain death's powers, reaping souls for Simoleons.? The Undertaker career deals with this morbid topic in its own way, setting up End of Life services for grieving Sims.

Even though the Life and Death EP centers around the loss of life, there's still a light at the end of the tunnel with the upcoming Bucket List feature. Explore Ravenwood to its fullest by completing significant milestones, whether it be traveling to unimaginable places or kissing a ghost (I told you, Sims can be weird).

So, if you want to get ready for Halloween, preorder The Sims 4 Life and Death Expansion Pack from Oct. 3 to Dec. 12. You'll get the Mournful Melodies Music Box and Plumed Elegance Mask in re??turn, giving you some fashionable cosmetics for its Oct. 31st debut.

The latest update from EA about the mysterious Project Rene is here, and with it has come a huge amount of controversy. It’s been revealed that The Sims 4 is going to remain the focus of the series and that Project Rene, widely believed to be the codename for The Sims 5, will instead be a multiplayer game.  

If that news doesn’t fill you with confidence about the future of the life simulation series, you’re not alone. Fans across the globe have not been taking the news well, with thousands of players makin??g their opinions heard on all corners of the internet.

Sims fans are not happy that Sims 5 isn’t in any future plans

We’ve talked about how expensive The Sims 4 is before, and with the announcement that EA p?lans to further develop the game for years to come, that price will only increase. Many players have come out to say they feel the fourth game has lived far beyond? its expiration date, and they can’t take more of it.
