Farmyard fighter Them's Fightin' Herds is about to welcome its first stud into the field �As revealed by developer Mane6, beefy bull boy Texas will ??be joining the hoof-full roster on December 19, bringing with him what is easily the biggest slab of meat yet to hit the scrapper's colorful roster.

As you can see in his debut trailer, Texas is, well, massive. There's some nominative determinism for you. And while most fighting games would see their larger characters only offer threat at close range, it seems that Texas is able to cause plenty of damage from mid-range, lassoing his opponents via the ropes attached to his saddle. As the father of Them's Fightin' Herds OG star, Arizona, ??Texas has the boisterous yee-haw! attitude, and is quite possibly someone you wouldn't want to get into a political debate with around the Holidays.

So, if you fancy grabbing this particular bull by the horns, then you'll be able to purchase Texas from December 19 at the cost of around $5. Of course, players who have picked up the Season One Pass will find him ready and raring to go in their roster come launch day. In addition to Texas himself, players will get a matching lobby avatar and a brand new stage �The Caravan Cattledome. I can't deny he looks terrifying, especially when placed alongside his diminutive opponents. But never bet against my gurl Shanty. She is the GOAT, after all.

Mane6 has announced a release date for the long-awaited console editions of colorful cartoon slugfest Them's Fightin' Herds. The indie hit will finally make its console debut on October 18, arriving on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch pl??atforms. The console edition will be published by Modus Games.

As we have reported many, many times in the past, Them's Fightin' Herds is a one-on-one 2D fighting title that began life as an unofficial adaptation of the smash hit TV series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. After Hasbro's lawyers came a'calling, the show's creator, Lauren Faust, kindly reached out to the team to help with the design of an all-new cast of characters, which allowed the deve??loper to continue the?? project as an original IP.

Launching in Steam Early Access way back in 2018, before eventually receiving a full release in 2020, console players have had to sit pretty for almost five years for the console port, but now finally have a date with which to mark their calendars. With a charismatic roster, quality animation, and tight Marvel vs. Capcom-esque mechanics, TFH has successfully built a dedicated community of players, as well as a healthy competitive scene. This community is o??nly set to grow with the arrival of the console? port.

Them's Fightin' Herds launches on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms October 18, priced at $19.99. A Deluxe Edition �including a season pass hosting four additional characters, new stages, and a selection of lobby avatars �will retail for $39.99. Update 3.0 brings balance tweaks and flashy finishes

Mane6 has released the long-in-development Update 3.0 for its equestrian smackeroonie Them's Fightin' Herds �the update, now live on PC, brings with it a fresh balance of bug fixes, a bal??ance overhaul, and, best of all, some lovely looking Level 3 cinem?atic Supers for the entire roster!

Each and every character can now activate a new Super when their super meter is stocked to its third stage. The new Supers take Them's Fightin' Herds to a whole new level, with gorgeous, cartoony, and very amusing attacks?? to put a big, dramatic finish on your beatdown. Fr?om Arizona's lasso-crazy multi-slam, to Paprika's ultra hug of death, Tianhuo's demonstration of their martial arts expertise, and Pom's Akuma-esque touch of death �these new supers are packed with personality and character.

In addition, all current and future TFH players can now download DLC character Shanty free of charge. Incidentally, the G.O.A.T. herself has perhaps my favorite super, featuring a barrage of cannonballs from her nearby ship, ending in a spectacular explosion. Them's Fightin' Herds has spent the past four years building upon its great foundation, determined to prove itself a major contender among its big-budget contemporaries. It's a great fighter, no doubt, and the console release �officially called for later in 2022 �will be sure to add more t?han a few new d??isciples to the herd.

Horsepower coming to consoles

It's taken almost five long years, but indie outfit Mane6 has announced that its equestrian hoof-'em-up is kickin' the dirt, snortin' steam, and getting ready to let rip on console platforms �Them's Fightin' Herds will finally come galloping onto PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms this f??all.

Originally released for Steam Early Access way back in 2018, before receiving its full PC release in the spring of 2020, Them's Fightin' Herds is a hyper-stylized 2D fighter that sees some very silly mares duking it out in some hard hoofin' one-on-one action. From crazy-eyed alpacas and magical unicorns, to yee-hawing ponies and even a grumpy lil' goat, TFH combines cartoon quality art and animation with solid, old-school mechanics for a unique fighting game expe?rience.

Originally conceived as a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fan game, developer Mane6 quickly readjusted its design plans when Hasbro lawyers came a'callin. This proved to be the best thing that could happen for the project, however, and with fresh designs from Friendship is Magic creator Lauren Faust at hand, the Mane6 team embarked on its own original scrapper. A true passion project, Them's Fightin' Herds has seen more intensive and passionate developer support than many fighters 50 times its size and p??opularity.

Kick 'n' Butt

It's been more than few grazes since we last heard from Them's Fightin' Herds, but fans of equine smack-fest will be pleased to hear that developer Mane6 has finally released new DLC character Shanty, with the ??adorable hellraiser ready ??to hoof it up this week.

As previously reported, Shanty is a seafaring goat who makes up for her short stature with an almighty fiery attitude. Our bleatin' beater uses her lightweight nature to its fulle?st, with a masterful array of dash attacks, a combo-starting air throw, and, best of all, a selection of "off-the-wall" attacks, instantly recalling those cute viral videos where baby goats frantically spin-kick off of logs, ramps, and each other.

Purchasing Shanty will also give you access to her ship-based stage "The Capricorn," as well as the requisite lobby/online items. Shanty will receive a full story chapter in the near future, as Mane6 is still hard at work putting together the story campaigns for Them's Fightin' Herds initial ro??ster. In addition to?? Shanty, a new update for all players adds a redesigned replay system, a new stage (Hidden Waterfall), and a new lobby, Hallowed Grove - complete with hats, of course.

How wonderful to see Them's Fightin' Herds continue in its ongoing efforts to remain part of a crowded fighting game market. Hopefully, as work progresses on new content and fine-tuning the cult fighter's mechanics, we'll see TFH make its proud return to EVO and other FGC even?ts very soon.
