Aghasba is almost entirely a wasteland when you arrive, but creating Ecosystems reinvigorates life on a large scale, unironically leading to you gaining more max HP (Health Points) in the proces??s.

Specifically, you need to upgrade your Ecosystems to gain Max Health rewards. You will only have access to a few of these as you work your way through the tutorial and prologue explanations of all the game's systems. But, eventually, you'll be cut loose from these training threads and be allowed to pursue your own Ecosystems openly. Not every Ecosystem upgrade wi?ll boost your Max Health, but keep doing so and you'll eventually receiv?e the boost in a prompt just after the deed is done.

How to upgrade Ecosystems in Towers of Aghasba

Upgrading an Ecosystem is a very simple task that involves bringing a specific set of materials to Sprite, the NPC you speak to for the process. The tasks and materials involved will often differ from Ecosystem to Ecosystem, but in most cases, they involve feeding animals, planting seeds, and earning Amity en-mass. They are typically variants of these types of objectives.

Ecosystem upgrades are also separated into Tiers, which allow you to pursue upgrade??s without being overwhelmed. Each set of objectives is based on these Tiers, with each following Tier upgrade being more difficult to complete than the previous. Additionally, with every Ecosystem Tier you achieve, the Colossal Tree at its center will increase massively in size, allowing for more of literally everything to exist within the Ecosystem.

One of these can be hard to overcome if you don’t know what you’re doing, and that’s when you’re told that the ecosystem can’t sustain any more plant life. How to solve "ecosystem can’t sustain any more plants" in Towers of Aghasba

If you’re trying to plant more trees or flowers around your Colossal Tree and you get this warning, it’s exactly what it sounds like �your ecosystem simply isn’t equipped to deal with more plants. You can fix this by cutting down trees or picking plants, anythi?ng that removes an already existing plant.

You can use any tool for this, lik??e a Stone Hatchet, or e?ven just your hands.

Every time you cut down a tree or harvest any plant in your ecosystem, you make room for more to be planted. If you cut down one tree or pick one flower, you make room for one more ?plant, and so on. This is the only way to make more room without upgrading your Colossal Tree.

Common plants and trees are what I’d recommend cutting down since they won’t be difficult to replace. It doesn’t m??atter what plants you remove, so long a?s you take something away to make more room. 

How to increase the number of plants in an ecosystem in Towers of Aghasba

If you want to add more plants into your ecosystem without getting rid o??f old ones, you can upgrade your Colossal Tree and get more space to plant seeds. You’ll naturally ??upgrade your Colossal Tree as you continue the main storyline.

There are several requirements that you need to f??ulfill to level up your Colossal Tree, such as feeding creatures inside of the ecosystem, planting specific seeds, and having fully grown plants inside. 

Creatures will be attracted to your ecosystem depending on the plant life that it sustains. They’ll come to your area, and you can feed the animals things lik?e berr?ies to keep them healthy. So long as you continue to take care of your plants and harvest the necessary seeds from the Colossal Tree, you shouldn’t have an issue meeting the requirements to upgrade.

Follow the main storyline, take good care of your ecosys??tem, and you’ll h??ave no trouble upgrading and fitting more plants. Until then, get to chopping and harvesting to make more room.

Where to find Mushroom Caps in Towers of Aghasba

Mushroom Caps grow almost exclusively in Temperate Ecosystems, meaning you generally won't find them much outside of one. That isn't to say you can't find them randomly scattered, but they are certainly few and far between and not really a viable option if you need them in abundance. The easiest way to obtain Mushroom Caps is to grow them yourself within a Temperate Ecosystem. Thankfully, the main storyline of Towers of Aghasba shows you how to grow a Temperate? ecosystem, so if you've progressed far enough, you should already have access to one.

How to grow Mushroom Caps

Growing Mushroom Caps is really ea??sy, b?ut there is a bit of randomness and time involved.

First, get your hands on a few Temperate Seeds. These grow from the top of your Temperate Colossal Tree, so climb up there? and grab a few. If you don't have any there, wait some time for them to grow back. It won't take long.

Any Temperate Seeds you pick up will go straight to your inventory, ??so open it and select Use on a Temperate Seed. Plant the seed in your Temperate ecosystem, and then look at the mound it leaves behind. You should see exactly what's growing from the seed you planted, as well as a timer depicting how long the process will take.

This is where the randomness I mentioned earlier comes into play. Every time you plant a Temperate Seed, there is a random chance for it to be a Mushroom, which is what you're looking for. So, i?f the seed you planted is not a Mushroom growing, plant more seeds until you get one. Then, wait out the timer.

Once a Mushroom has fully grown, it is ripe for harvesting. Head over to it and equip a Shovel to ha??rvest it from its root. Once done, you'll receive a variable amount of Mushroom Caps. This whole process can be repeated as many times as needed.

How to Kill Withered Nests in Towers of Aghasba

From the moment your journey begins in Towers of Aghasba, the Withered exist as a constant threat to your exploration. These monstrosi??ties disrupt the natural balance by attacking wildlife, targeting you, and making the restoration of life to the land an uphill ??battle, all thanks to their many nests scattered about.

Withered Nests are ugly masses of rotten flesh that can be identified even from a distance by the large, globous, pulsating red globs they emit. As you might expect, they spawn the Withered on a constant basis, and if one is near a structure of yours, prepare to see them swarming your Ecosystem often. Withered Nsests also vary in size, from being relatively small to utte?rly massive, but they can be dealt with.

Withered Nests can be destroyed by crushing its core in the center. For small nests, simply walking up to it and interacting with it for a few seconds is e?nough. However, you'll need to destroy the roots that defend it in the case of larger nests. Like the core, simply walking up to a root and interacting with it for a few seconds is enough to destroy one. The biggest threat to all of this is the Withered that surrounds you and will spawn the moment you get close. You'll need to de?al with them first to safely destroy their nests. As a rule of thumb, the bigger the nest, the more dangerous the Withered that will come from it, so be weary if you're unprepared for a battle.

What do you get for destroying Withered Nests

So, you’re probably wondering what’s in it for you when you take down a Withered Nest? Is it worth your time and effort? The answer is a big yes. Clearing out a nest makes the area a lot safer, and on top of that, you’ll rack up a significant amount of Amity. Since wiping out Withered Nests is considered a life-giving act, you’ll earn Amity just like with ??any other restoration effort. The bigger the nest, the more Amity you’ll score. Even the smallest ??nests give a hefty reward, though, so if you can take them out, it’s always worth it.

The wilds of Towers of Aghasba are ripe with danger, and death is an inevitabili?ty if you're planning to progress deep into the mainland. If you're curious about what happens when you die, here's the scoop.

What happens when you're killed in Towers of Aghasba?

Despite being a survival game at its core, death in Towers of Aghasba is definitely on the more lenient side of the spectrum??. Normally, the effects of dying within this g?enre vary wildly, from having to do a corpse run to regain lost gear to losing progress in one or more various systems. There is a large spectrum of death penalties in the Survival genre space.

However, Towers of Aghasba has only two real punishments for when you die, neither of which are big gameplay inhibitors. The first effect is the most obvious: Dying sends you back to your village. Sp?ecifically, the village closes to where you died will be where you respawn. There is no need to have a respawn point built or any sort of bed-like beacon like in most survival games. The only annoying thing about this is that you'll have to trek back to the location of your death to continue your exploration progress. All in all, it's not a big deal.

The second punishment also isn't some major penality, but a light slap on the wrist. When you respawn, you will be missing a large portion of your maximum health. This can, naturally, be rectified by simply eating food that will restore your health to full. Food is not exactly scarce in Towers of Aghasba, thanks to berry bushes being plentif?ul. Farms and Campfires will also greatly alleviate this negative significantly, as you can harvest food and then cook it for bigger gains, right in the safety of your ?home village.

You'll need Thatch early on in Towers of Aghasba to craft most tools and build a lot of the required early-game buildings and structures. While Stones and Wood can be picked up off the ground, Thatch works a little differently. Here's how to find Thatch in Towers of Aghasba and the easiest way to farm it.

Where to get Thatch

Instead of looking on the ground for Thatch to pick up, look for brush and shrubs that you can interact with to harvest Thatch. You cannot find Thatch by itself just lying around, so you will have to harvest it from the bushes scattered around the m?ap. It can be a bit tricky to see once you've advanced further into evolving the starter Temperate biome, so you may need to turn down some foliage and ground clutter settings to be able to see it.

Once y?ou find a Bush, just hold 'E' by default to harvest it. When harvesting a bush, you will eithe??r get Fiber or Thatch. Typically you'll get more than one, and in my experience I've gotten up to five Thatch from one Bush harvest.

The best way to farm a lot of Thatch is to just run around the southern Temperate Climate area, whi?ch seems to spawn the Bushes rather frequently??. You don't need too much Thatch early, so you should be able to farm up as much as you need here quickly!

What is Thatch for?

In Towers of Aghasba, Thatch is an early-game resource used to craft tools like the Axe, Pic??kaxe, and Shovel. It's also used for crafting various early-game weapons like the Spear and Bow.

You'll also need some Thatch to build various buildings, such as the original farming village post, to progress your first quest in Towers of Aghasba. As you progress into later parts of the game, T?hatch no longer becom??es a primary resource when constructing various buildings of crafting tools.

Flint is a useful resource in Towers of Aghasba as it is needed to make all sorts of important crafts in the game. Here's where you can find it in abu?ndance.

How to find Flint in Towers of Aghasba

At the start of the game, Flint is an unobtainable resource because you need to craft yourself a Pickaxe to start harvesting it. A bit into the main story, you'll be given the recipe to craft a Stone Pickaxe via the Craft menu. This menu can be accessed and used from anywhere? in the world.

To craft a Stone Pickaxe, you'll need Stone, Stick, and Fiber in specific amounts:

• 2 x Stick - Picked up off the ground.
• 3 x Stone - Picked up off the ground.
• 2 x Fiber - Harvested from wild bushes on the ground

Once you have your Stone Pickaxe made, you now can gather Flint. Flint is harvested from Boulders found scattered around the wilderness.

The amount you obtain depends on the ??quality of the Pickaxe you use. With the St?one Pickaxe, you'll only obtain about one or two per boulder, but there are always plenty of them scattered around.

What is Flint used for in Towers of Aghasba

Flint is used to create several useful items, and you'll need a lot of it throughout your time in Towers of Aghasba. Early on, you'll use it to craft early-game weapons such as Spears and Arrows. You'll also use it to create basic tools/structures like the Construction Table and Standard Mining Hut. Flint, as a material, may become less valuable as your technology advances, but it is still a highly useful resource worth stockp???iling.

In fact, fishing in Towers of Aghasba is pretty similar to hunting, and both activities will help you to find some ??important ingredients. How to get your fishing tools in Towers of Aghasba

For some strange reason, there's no fishing rod available in the game. That c??ould change in the future as the early access gets more content, but it seems rather unlikely. You'll have to use a bow and flint spea??r.

• Go and talk to Hao. He can be found on a cliff.
• This cliff is situated near the lake located in central Amani Island.
• If you're still confused, just follow the quest line. You'll need to access the Unleash the Hunter Within mission, which will automatically teach you the basics.
• To complete the quest, you'll actually have to catch fish, making it easy for beginners to learn the basics.

How to fish in Towers of Aghasba

Getting the equipment is just one part of the task. You'll find plenty of fish to catch in the lake, and you'll need to use one of your two equipment. I found it easier to use an arrow for its e??ase.

You'll want to catch a fish that comes closer to the surface. Otherwise, it will be impossible to aim and hit the creature while it's in the water. For similar reasons, you'll want to use an elevation to get a great vantage point. Additionally, it's? impossible to catch any fish in the dark. Like in real life, you'll want to wait for the sun to rise before you can enhance your fishing skills.

There are three benefits of catching a fish.

• You can cook the flesh to prepare some delicious recipes.
• You can feed it to carnivorous animals.
• You can collect the bones, which are crafting materials.

That's pretty much it when it comes to fishing in Towers of Aghasba. Based on the Shimudex, there are 40 different types available in the early access build??, and more could be added as part of the next few updates.

In Towers of Aghasba, cultivating a new Ecosystem also includes feeding the ??animals that surround it. Feeding animals is highly important for many tasks in the game, so here's how you can accomplish it easily.

How to feed animals food in Towers of Aghasba

In order to feed animals, there are a couple of simple steps you must first take note of. The first thing you need to do is Observe the animal you want to feed. This is done by utilizing the Shimuscope and using it to look at a c?reature. Doing so will reveal a few important traits about them, including what they like to eat. Keep this in mind as it is important.

Once you know what a creature prefers for substance, it's time to prep their meal. Early on, you'll be using food you find on the ground like Berries and Roots to feed them, as most early beasts prefer them. However, later on, you'll have to better prepare food, especially for larger creatures. Either way, obtain the food for the creature you wish to feed then Equip the food in your hand.

With the curated food equipped, toss it on the ground near the creature. After a few seconds, creatures, if hungry, will grow interested and approach it. When they do (and several may at the same time depending on how much you put down), all you need to do is wait. When a creature feeds, it will drop Dung and other various resources you can use for other crafting projects. It will also reward you with a small amount of Amity, a key resource in Towers of Aghasba.

If you're struggling to feed creatures still, it's likely an issue of patience. When you throw down food, creatures may not approach immediately. Allow the food to sit for a time, and if after a few minutes nothing comes, pick it up and throw it down at another location. Also, if a creature is being hunted, they will not stop to eat. Finally, ensure you are attempting to feed a creature with the correct food. Creatures that don't eat meat, won't eat any meat you throw down. Keep this all in mind.

Towers of Aghasba is now available?? on early access, but a few players have reported a couple of issues that are preventing them from enjoying the content.

Bugs and glitches are common with early access titles, and some of them, like in the current instance, can be quite groundbreaking. While some players can't log in to enjoy the game, others, like me, have ended up with a black screen after starting the game. Thankfully, the c??ommunity seems to have developed a solution for the problems (worked for me).

Towers of Aghasba Black Screen error fix

The black screen error is just an extension of the can't log in issue, as you can't join the server if you don'??t get to play the game. Thankfully, I came across this solution in the reviews section, and it seems to have worked (at least for now).

• Go to your Steam library.
• Open the Properties for Towers of Aghasba.
• Go to the Installed Files folder.
• Run the game's exe file from the file that contains the installed files.

To ??solve the black screen issue, here's what you have to do.

• Go to the launch options and add the following segment: "-dx11".
• Launch the game, and it should run without any of the two errors that the players have encountered.

With that said, there are minor bugs and glitches that have been mentioned in the review section. It's safe to assume that you might still be unable to enjoy all the content unless a couple of post-launch patches are released by Dreamlit. Hopefully, that'll make the client far more stable, allowing all of us to enjoy the mysterious lands in Towers of Aghasba.

The Shimuscope in Towers of Aghasba is one of the most important items in the game. You get it early on after completing an early progression quest, but even after receiving it, you're not instructed on how to actually use it. Here is how to actually get the Shimuscope in Towers of Aghasba and how to properly use it.

How to get the Shimuscope

You will automatically receive the Shimuscope by completing the Establish Our First Village quest in Towers of Aghasba and then speaking to Pawel who relocates into the new farming village you've built. Once you speak with Pawel, he will mention the Shimus?cope and then give you one.

Unlike other items in Towers of Aghasba, the Shimuscope isn't an actual item that will show up in you??r inventory or that you need to equip. Onc??e unlocked, you automatically have the ability to use the Shimuscope at any time, so it's more like a mechanic being unlocked than receiving an actual item.

How to use the Shimuscope

After receiving the Shimuscope from Pawel, you can use it by hitting whatever the Shimuscope hotkey is in your settings. By default, the hotkey is the middle mouse button/clicking in the mouse wheel, also known as M3. Clicking this in will pull out the Shi??muscope for you to use. To change this hotkey, go into your settings then Controls and change the key next to the Observe action.

Once you are using the Shimuscope, you can scroll in and out with the mouse wheel and use it like? binoculars. You can also scan important life around the Aghasba including animals and creatures as well as certain plants. Simply zoom in on what you're trying to scan and you will notice the white circle zooming in towards your target.?? Once the circle reaches the middle it will register whatever you are scanning in your Shimudex.

Unleash the Hunter Within Quest Guide

Early on after you've built the farming village, you will get a quest to speak to the hunter Hoa. Speaking to Hoa starts th??e quest Unleash the Hunter Within. For this quest you need to successfully scan and identify three creatures with your Shimuscope.

You can technically scan land creatures or fish in the nearby lake. The fish can be a bit tricky to successfully scan because they quickly move around tin the water. But if you are able to do it, it's a guaranteed?? way to find scans.

Otherwise, there are two friendly c??reatures and a hostile crea?ture in the immediate area that you can scan. Here are the creatures you should scan with your Shimuscope:

• Beetlepup
• Skirtau
• Withered Razi

All three can be found running around the temperate climate where you start Towers of Aghasba.

After scanning three creatures with your Shimuscope??, return to Hoa and he will give you a Bow, some Arrows, and some spears as well as the next part of the quest. For this quest, Hoa will task you with practicing your hunting. For t?his part of the quest, you will need to hunt two Skirtau and two Fish.

The? Skirtau are running around in this Temperate climate and are easy to hunt with your bow and arrow, but the fish can be a bit tricky. The best way to hunt fish using your b?ow and arrow is to climb up on a higher-elevation rock overlooking the lake, which will allow you to more easily see and track the movements of the fish. Hunt two of them and return to Hoa to complete the Unleash the Hunter Within quest.

Towers of Aghasba's map might feel a bit restrictive during early access, but it's still quite expansive, and you'll want to? get a mount to make your life easier.

In case you're wondering, a mount will autom?atically reduce your traveling time a lot, and it's available for everyone. But you'll have to progress a bit more since the creature can't be found on Amani Island. You'll have to complete a fair bit of quests to unlock a side mission, which leads you toward getting your first mount in early access.

How to unlock your mount in Towers of Aghasba

To access your mount, you'll want to gain access to the A Mount for your Troubles side mission. You ca?n get this mission at the south of the Midrath Town p?ortal, but for that, you'll need to repair the broken bridge.

• First, travel to the Midrath Isles. You can do this by just advancing through the main quest.
• Keep completing all the missions till you're required to repair the broken bridge, which is mandatory to connect the main island with Amani Island.
• Along the way, you'll complete several smaller quests that require specific resources.
• The A Mount for your Troubles side mission is a similar mission, and you'll have to repair the Midrath Stable.

For this quest, you'll need two resources in the following quantities - 6x Thatch and 8x Wood. It's b?etter to carry both resources along wi??th you to Midrath. In case you didn't just travel back to Amani Island, chop down some trees, and scour through the bushes. That will get you all the resources that you need to complete the quest.

Once completed, you'll unlock your first mount - a Harelope. It's unclear i??f you'll be able to get more creatures in the future. Additionally, if you're? on a PC and choose to buy the game/have already purchased the game by December 19, there will be an exclusive skin waiting for your mount.

One of the more important resources you'll need early on when building things in Towers of Aghasba is Resin. However, if you're not sure where to look, it can be ab it tricky hunting down and gathering enough of it to get anything down. Here is how to get Resin in Towers of Aghasba and what it's used for.

Where to get Resin

You can acquire Resin in Towers of Aghasba by harvesting Resin Fir Trees. However, when you first start the game, there are no natural Resin Fir Trees. To unlock them, you need to first climb up the nearby rocky outcropping an??d speak to Pawel. He will then give you a seed for a Colossal Tree also known as the King Tree.

Head at least 100m away from the farming village post you put down, and you will be able to plan the Colossal Tree. Make sure it's in the Temperate Climate. Doing so will drop down a massive tree and then change the brush and foliage in a big circle around the area. This is now a biome specific to the Colossal Tree. After a few minutes,? you'll notice three large black seeds have grown at the top of the Colossal Tree.

Climb up the tree and hit the 'E' key to collect the Temperate Seeds ??growing at the top of the seed. Go into your inventory and find the Temperate Seeds and hit 'F' to "use" the Temperate Seed whic?h will now let you plan it. Plant them near the Colossal Tree as they require the same biome as the tree in order to grow.

Once plante?d it will take two minutes for the Temperate Seed to fully grow. After growing, it will turn into either normal brush that you can collect for Fibers, or into a Resin Fir Tree. You can then use a Stone Axe or better and hold the 'E' key at the Resin Fir Tree to chop it down which will reward you with Resin. The Resin Fir Trees do not regrow, so you will have to plant more Temperate Seeds in the biome near the Colossal Tree to get them.

What to use Resin for

After you have acquired a single Resin, you can head back to the farming village post you constructed and interact with it to add your Resin to the building materials and complete building the village post. This will spawn the actual farming vill??age and add new buildings and NPCs for you to interact with, as well as complete the Establish Our First Villa?ge quest that requires you to build the farming village tower.

After constructing the farming village, you will still need Resin to craft various buildings as you progress through Towers of Aghasba. Therefore, it's recommended you continue to make sure you have Resin Fir Trees growing at the Colossal Tre??e in case you need easy access to more Resin in the future to build whatever you may need. In later biomes further in the game, Resin Fir Trees may be found growing on their own in the wild.
