If you thought you were done slicing and shooting in Brotato, Blobfish Games has something to steer you right back on track. The paid DLC Abyssal Terrors has been revealed along with a free local co-op up??date, both due out sometime this summer.

Abyssal Terrors takes our hyper-capable potato on a voyage out to the open seas, where he'll have to deal with a bunch of new challenges. There will be 20 new waves in total, complete with new enemies and bosses that aim to up the difficulty for those who have survived everything Brotato has?? thrown at them thus far. There are also over 10 new weapons to find, and over 10 new potatoes that offer up their own unique abilities.

Developer Evil Empire and publisher Ubisoft officially revealed The Rogue Prince of Persia during today's Triple-I Initiative for 2024. Featuring a unique stylized art style, The Rogue Prince of Persia returns the franchise to its 2D action-platforming roots with a dash of roguelite gameplay. It's set to enter Early Access on Stea?m on May 14.

Several rumors popped up around the internet this last week about a Prince of Persia game being developed by Evil Empire, best known for its popular roguelike metroidvania title Dead Cells. Now we not only know it's real and titled The Rogue Prince of Persia, but we'll be able to get our hands?? on it very soon as it enters it??s Early Access phase in just over a month.

The Rogue Prince of Persia takes place in a fictio??nal rendition of Ctesiphon, the capital of the Persian Empire. The city is under invasion by the Hun's army of possessed soldiers, and players must embody the Prince who is gifted with a mystical bola that resurrects him when he dies.

In classic Prince of Persia fa??shion, players will explore a plethora of biomes as they unlock new weapons, trinkets, and gear upgrades while tr?ying to save the city from destruction.

It's a great time to be a Prince of Persia fan. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was great, so getting another authentic PoP p??latformer just months later feels like we're being a bit spoiled.

Quite OK Games today shadow dropped its city-builder on a summit title Laysara: Summit Kingdom as part of the Triple-I Initiative showcase.

Laysara: Summit Kingdom is available in early access on Steam right now, having had its release announced during today's Triple-I Initiative showcase. The game takes the city-building genre we all know and love and ascen?ds it, quite literally, to the peaks of the mightiest mountains. Instead of crafting a small settlement in a forest before seeing it become a sprawling city, this game has you carve out an existence for a culture living in one of the harshest environments in the world.

Rebuild a kingdom while working within a culture's caste system in Laysara: Summit Kingdom

In Laysara: Summit Kingdom, your people have bee??n forced out of the lowlands and into the mountains. Throughout the campaign, you'll build unique towns on every mountain and establish trade networks between them to help the kingdom thrive once more.

However, the mountains your people have settled in are far from danger-free, and it's not just the altitude that can kill. Every mountain has different challenges for your settlements to face, including avalanches, ?lack of resources, and others that only have what your people need close to treacherous glaciers.

The game somehow manages to make all this danger look beautiful, though. Your towns pocket each mountain with strange staircases and bridges spanning between them forming trade routes and main pathways. It reminds me of images of isolated villages in remote parts of the world, or the lines of flags between rocks and buildings you see in photos of Everest Base?? Camp.

Should you manage to master the mountain and build to its peak, you can even erect structures that allow people and goods to travel between neighboring mountains. The idea of growing enough food on a mountain to trade with another mountain settlement feels bonkers, but in this gam??e, it's daily life just as easy as visiting some relatives.

Reaching this point means you've not only mastered the eleme?nts on the mountains, redirecting snow and water but have built the society around its three-tier caste system well enough that society is flourishing even in these harsh environments.

I love that Laysara: Summit Kingdom looks not only at what civilization would be if it were forced to build and? survive in the flat parts between sheer drops on the edges of tectonic plates, but a??lso at how culture can survive and even be relied upon to help people survive no mater the adversities they face.

Developer Digital Sun revealed during the Triple-I Initiative for 2024 that its upcoming RTS meets Tower Defense title Cataclismo is set to release on July 16, 2024, on Steam.

Digital Sun, creators of Moonlighter and The Mageseeker, teases that Cataclismo will give players the ability to build their fortress and defenses piece-by-piece utilizing LEGO-inspired mechanics. While building up their castles, players will have to utilize tactical layouts, traps, and tr?oop placements to survive against hoards of enemies that attack at nightfall.

Featuring a realistic physics system, Cataclismo allows players to use over 100 different building pieces to build up defenses while optimizing life and produ??ction inside the castle walls. As we see in the trailer, a stray block from a destroyed wall can literally crush innocent bystanders below, so the physics system itself adds its own element of strategy.

Cataclismo launches on PC via Steam on July 16, 2024 wit ha 30-hour campaign, creativ?e, sur??vival, and skirmish modes.

The Triple-I Initiative for 2024 started out strong with a brief teaser for Slay the Spire 2. Like its predecessor, Slay the Spire 2?? will be released in Early Acc??ess on Steam first in 2025 and evolve based on player feedback before its full release.

According to the Steam Page, Slay the Spire 2 adds new slayers with their own sets of cards, mechanics, and personalities. Slayers will encoun??ter all-new enemies, events, and treasures as they explor?e the Spire.

It also looks like Slay the Spire 2 has been built from the ground up in a new game engine, which should allow developer Mega Crit to perhaps include some new features. Speaking of which, the Steam Page teases that there will be ne??w ways to play, but nothing confirmed just yet.

Mega Crit also tweeted out that more info on the roguelike card battler w??ould be available later this year ahead of its Early Access release in 2025.
