It's a good time to be a Blizzard fan. Not long after revealing a release date for the upcoming World of Warcraft: The War Within expansion, Blizzard revealed the opening cinematic as well as a release date for the first Diablo 4 expansion, Vessel of Hatred. Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred will be re??leased on all platforms on October 8, 2024.

The cinematic trailer is just as hellish as you've come to expect from Blizzard and its Diablo 4 cinematics. Tempted by the Prime Evil Meph??isto, Neyrelle heads to the new jungle ?region of Nahantu.

Players will follow Neyrell to Nahantu where they can play as the new Spiritborn class, recruit?? mercenaries to join them in combat, and participate in an all-new PvE co-op activity with friends.

Following the recently released Season 4: Loot Reborn, this feels like a great release time for the expansion. The Loot Reborn season essentially changed how loot works in the popular ARPG, paving the way for a great opportunity for some new Diablo 4 content using the new systems.

During BlizzCon 2023, Blizzard revealed the first expansion for Diablo 4 titled Vessel of Hatred. Details were sparse, but the expansion will focus on Mephisto, one of the three Prime Evils. The expansion will take place in the Jungles of T??orajan and feature a brand new class.

According to Blizzard the expansion is still early on in development and more information will be availab??le in Summer 2024. No firm release date was provided, but the brief trailer revealed a timeframe of Late 2024.

Timing wise it makes sense, as Blizzard confirmed earlier this year that Diablo 4 will receive annual expansions alongside its quarterly seasons. This likely means we will have another two or even three seasons before the Vessel of Hatred expansion releases.
