Tencent, the mega-corporation that owns Riot Games (and by proxy, League of Legends) and is a near-majority shareholder of Epic Games (at 48.4%), has announced a new console coming to China called the “Tencent Games Platform,” or “TGP.”

Think of it like a Steam Machine, in a way, running on Windows 10 on a 6th generation Intel processor. Touted games include NBA 2K Online, League of Legends, and Monster Hunter Online, all of which are free-to-play, and all of which are based on properti♋es in conjunction wit꧂h Tencent.

If you haven’t heard of Tencent yet, brush up on it. It’s been quietly making an impact on the industry for some time now, and it’s just a matter of time until it permeates everything. I never thought Nintendo would partner with DeNA, for instance — anything can happen!
