The release of the first part of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet‘s DLC, The Teal Mask, brought returning Pokémon that are exclusive to each game version, as well as Pokémon that can only evolve when traded with another player. If you don’t have a friend to trade with, you will need to use trade codes in Poké Portal to find a trade partner and fill out your Kitakami Pokédex.
To help you with that, Destructoid created the list of trade codes below for you to use online in Poké Portal. If two or more people use the same code, they are matched and sent to the trade screen to start trading. If you’re lucky and lots of players are using a code the same time as you are, you will find a partner quickly and hopefully get a successful trade. It works exactly like the original codes list from Scarlet and Violet.
Check out below the complete list of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask DLC trade codes. All trades listed as mirror trades mean you’ll be trading that Pokémon for a copy of it.

How to use trade codes in Scarlet and Violet
Follow the step-by-step guide below to use the trade codes in The Teal Mask:
- Make sure you have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. If not, you must subscribe to continue.
- Connect to the best Wi-Fi network available.
- Inside Pokémon Scarlet or Violet, press X to open the main menu.
- Select “Poké Portal” and press A. The Poké Portal window will open with a new menu on the left.
- Select “Link Trade”, which is the third option, and press A. The “Start a Link Trade” window will open.
- Select “Set Link Code” and press A. The virtual keyboard will pop up on your screen.
- Type a code from the list above and press + or select “OK” and press A.
- Select “Begin Searching” and press A.
- Wait for the search to complete. If it’s successful, you’ll see the trade interface pop up.
- Complete the trade following the trade code expected offers.
If the trade code fails to match you with another player, there’s probably not enough people using the code at that moment. We recommend trying again later.

Pokémon HOME as an alternative to trade codes
You can use Pokémon HOME as an alternative way to trade version exclusives in The Teal Mask. The good news is that you’re able to directly find people offering the Pokémon you want and you know straight away what Pokémon they want in return. The downside is that it’s impossible for Pokémon to evolve when trading via Pokémon HOME
For example, if you mirror trade Graveler through Pokémon HOME, you’re just getting a Graveler in return. It won’t evolve into Golem, not even when you transfer it back to Pokémon Scarlet or Violet.
Important information
The trade code list we provide above is a courtesy from our team to the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet community. These codes are not guaranteed to work, and you’re not guaranteed to be offered the Pokémon you expect, since it all depends on the good faith of the trade partner you’re paired with. Always check the Pokémon you’re being offered before accepting any trade, and avoid offering valuable Pokémon in random trades like these.
Remember that you may be matched with someone offering the same Pokémon as you, since you can’t choose who to trade with beforehand. In this case, cancel the trade and try again. Also, you will probably never be able to recover the exact Pokémon you traded away, so choose one that you can spare. Since this is a community feature, nobody is responsible for any bad trades that happen while using these codes.
