Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date

Fans have been eager to know about when they can actually get to play on the Nintendo Switch 2. So far, the official trailer has only revealed that it will be available sometime in 2025. The exact date, as of writing, remains unknown. However, there will be a Nintendo Direct on April 2 related to the Switch 2. So it’s certain that there won’t be any release until April 2, when the upcoming Direct 2 will beꦉ showcased worldwide.

Incidentally, the first Switch was released on March 3, 🐽2017. This time around, we could well be headed to a summer launch. Then again, that April 2 Direct could also be the official release of the console, although that seems unlikely at this point in time.

The second Switch console will have Backward Compatibility with the first one. You’ll be able to run most of your existing games on the latest architecture without any problems. A tweet and promotional advert from Nintendo has officially confirmed this information.

That said, there will be a few Switch titles that might not run on Switch 2. We are yet to have an official list of which games will be able to run on the newer console, and which won’t. Stay tuned for more details from Nintendo in this regard.
