One way or another
Okay, maybe “cinematic universe” is a tad on the dramatic side. But whatever’s next from Stardew Valley‘s developer Eric Barone will tie into his farming sim that took the world by storm.
Barone responded to a fan’s question on Twitter about whether his next game shares commonalities with Stardew Valley. Barone shed light on the fact that he actually has two games in the works. One isn’t a farming sim but takes place in the same universe as Stardew Valley. The sec𒊎ond is more loosely attached, but has connections in some way.
Yes, I’m actually working on a couple of new projects. One takes place in the world of Stardew Valley, but is not a farming game. The other, I’m not 100% sure about the world yet, but it will tie into Stardew Valley in some way

This has been the course for well over a year now when Barone revealed that his next project would be Stardew-adjacent. However, he had it on the backburner then, instead opting to focus on Stardew Valley content updates. It’s also a revelation that there are two games he has in mind. Now, it sounds as thou🔴gh Barone is ready to concentrate on how🌊 he wants these tangential games to come together.
All that being said, we’re probably not getting a formal announcement anytime soon. Barone has said that he’s not lifting the veil on these projects because he enjoys that there’s no pressure or expectations about the progress he’s making. (In fact, that people “don’t get too hyped” yet.) It took Barone four years to make Stardew Valley. Whatever’s next, he can take all the time he needs.
