Devil May Cry 5 was one of the best character action games in recent memory. So sure, it deserves to come fo🐈rward a console generation with us. (As though quality is the only thing that dictates whether a game gets a next-gen version.)

Capcom has revealed that Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition is a new PS5 version of the 2019 game. However, the reveal trailer didn’t really tell us of any of the enhancements that’ll make it superior on PS5 from a tech standpoint. From a content standpoint, it’s presumed that Vergil will be playable like in DMC3: Special Edition.

[Update: Now that the stream is over, we’ve gotten some actual details. As expected, Vergil is playable. In terms of visuals and performance, players will have the option to turn on ray tracing and target 4K resolution at 30fps. Or, they can prioritize refresh rate and aim for 1080p at 60fps. There’s also a High Framerate Mode which can hit 120fps (assuming you have a display that can achieve this).

There are a couple more additions to Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition. There’s a Turbo Mode that has been a staple of DMC special editions. It turns the game speed up to 1.2x. There’s also a Legendary Dark Knight difficulty which spawns “multiple times the enemies compared to the other difficulties. It does all the DualSense haptic feedback stuff through the controller.

Lastly, we found out that Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition i❀s $40 at launch. Check out the write-up 𝐆on the for all the details first-hand.]

We’ll find out soon enough. Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition will ℱbe available digitally when PS5 launches.
