Ship off starboard, captain. Sheā€™s flying the pride!

If youā€™ve ever wanted to build your own battleship and then kickflip with it, nowā€™s a good time. TMA Games’ Waves of Steel is fully asseš“†‰mbled and hasź¦œ left early access on Steam.

Forget everything you think you know about naval warfare. There are some bad guys out on the seas, and itā€™s your job to exterminate them. Waves of Steel has you customize your ideal flagship, then sends you out to rain destruction down on anyone unfortunate enough to be in the water. Billed as ā€œfast and accessible,ā€ youā€™ll be gunning down enemy ships, planes, submarines, and various boss conź©²coctions in your bid to free the seven seas from oppression in its extensive single-player campaign. The boat jumps, and thatā€™s generally enough for me.

I actually really enjoy naval combat when itā€™s done right. However, even though I wouldnā€™t consider Waves of Steel as one thatā€™s ā€œdone right,ā€ it does its own thing instead and comes out looking just as interesting. I didnā€™t knowšŸ’™ I needed an over-the-top fun naval combat game, but now that Iā€™ve seen it, Iā€™m looking forward to trying it out.
