What does the Blood Moon do in the Cult of the Lamb?

Praise the pumpkin!

The Blood Moon Festival is an annual event in Cult of the Lamb that runs from October 24th to November 10th. During the event, a number of new unlocks will be available, as well as the Blood M✱oon Ritual, which has a unique and spooky effect.

So, let’s look at everything t🌳hat’s available at this special time of year:

Blood Moon Ritual

The Blood Moon Ritual comes at a cost of 40 pumpkins (this can be reduced to 20 by unlocking Cheapeౠr Ritual). Performing it will bring back all your dead followers as ghosts who will linger around your cult’s compound for three days. That may sound annoying, but catching these ghosts will net you an unlockable, which includes decorations and cultist forms. If you’ve unlocked everything, you’ll get a bit of Divine Inspiration instead. This ritual is only available during the festival and disappears after November 10th.

New follower forms

There are three follower forms to ܫunlock: Cursed Crow, Vampiric Demon, and Skeletal Deer. You❀ have a chance of unlocking one of these each time you catch a ghost.

New decorations

There are four decorations to unlock: Blood Moon variants of the candle, pumpkin, skull, and tree. As you’d expect, these are all themed around Hall♕oween and Day of the Dead.

A few caveats: Blood Moon Ritual only works if you’ve got at least one dead follow🏅er. Also, even if you catch one of the ghosts, you can still resurrect the follower later. Once you’ve unlocked something, it’s yours forever. Only the ritual itself is ephemeral. If you miss the festival, you can turn back your computer’s clock to make it active again. B༒ut shh, that’s our little secret.
