According to the PlayStation State of Play, the Astro Bot DLC will launch in Fall 2024. We got a glimpse into some upcoming features, including five new online speedrun levels and 10 VIP Astro Bots. Although the entire roster has yet to be revealed, the announcement unveils two iconic characters: a Helldiver and Stellar Blade’s EVE. I’m happy to see that some of my picks for potential future cameos made it to the new update, but we’ll still need to wait for the rest.

You may remember the speedruns from Astro’s Playroom, where players could quickly go through levels in the network. The Speedrun and Special Bots Add-On trailer shows the upcoming challenges in action, starting with an icy course riddled with traps. You’ll need to use your bot’s unique abilities here in order to push throug🍸h the trials and reign victorious on the leaderboards.

While we don’t have an exact release date for the Astro Bot DLC, it should be available soon now that we’re approaching the end of the year. Fortunately for us, the add-on will be completely free, so there is no need to bust out your wallet for the speedruns and new bots.

There may even be more hidden secrets to uncover that have not been revealed in the trailer. I’m still hoping for a Prince of Persia bot, but it might just be wishful thinking. Once more information drops, I’ll update the guide to provide the deets on the DLC’s release date.
