Roger Pirates' Crocus in One Piece

Crocus the Roger Pirates’ doctor

Crocus was one of the first former members of the Roger Pirates to be introduced into the series. He was first shown just as the Straw Hats entered the G🐎rand Line, wherein he was seen taking care of the humongous whale that was Laboon. Even after the timeskip, he remained in Twin Cape Lighthouse, patiently waiting with Laboon for Luffy and Brook to fulfill their promise.

Taking care of Laboon had been Crocus’ life mission. He first met and took in the young Laboon after the Rumbar Pirates had to leave the whale behind. They wanted to explore the Grand Line, and it would have been too dangerous for Laboon to tag along. Only decades after meeting the Rumbar pirates did Crocus meet Roger and his crew. He also only accepted to join the Roger Pirates and keep tabs on Roger’s health in the hopes of finding the fate of the Rumbar Pirates.

The Roger Pirates’ first mate Silvers Rayleigh

Roger’s first mate undeniably helped the Straw Hat Pirates the most. After their disbandment, Silvers Rayleigh retired as a pirate and became a ship coating mechanic at Sabaody Archipelago. He also settled down and became Shakuyaku’s, a former Empress of the Amazon Lily, husband. Up to the present, he remains at Sabaody Archipelago; and perhaps pretending to be a for-sale slave and stealing from whoever would buy him.

Even before Kuma separated the Straw Hats, Rayleigh fought to save them. After Ace’s death, he also accompanied Luffy back to Marineford and taught the young pirate how to master his Haki.

The left arm Scopper Gaban

If the Dark Knight Silvers Rayleigh served as Roger’s right-hand man, then Scopper Gaban was his left arm. He was known to be at par with Rayleigh during their prime, earning him the moniker Mountaineater. Recent developments in the manga finally revealed his whereabouts.

It turned out that Gaban had been living in Elbaph for the past two decades, wherein he got himself a wife and a child. Interestingly, however, he isn’t so fond of humans marrying Giants. Since Ripley is a Giant and he is a human, he doesn’t find it fair that only he grows old and scrawny at such a rapid pace. Even so, he self-proclaims to be a preacher of love, believing that love is free and goes beyond race.

The Emperor Red-Hair Shanks

At the time, Shanks was still a child and an apprentice in Roger’s crew. While the other members of the Roger Pirates reached Laugh Tale and saw the One Piece, Shanks unboarded the ship before reaching the final island.

After the disbandment, he formed his own pirate crew — the Red-Hair Pirates. He then expanded his influence across the Grand Line and the New World, ultimately being recognized as one of the Four Emperors. And now, he has set his sights on finally ge✅tting the much-coveted treasure.

The other Emperor, Buggy the Clown

The reason Shanks missed ♉out on the trip to Laugh Tale was the other apprentice, Buggy. Before the last leg of the voyage, Buggy suddenly came down with a fev🐲er. Shanks stayed to look after him, despite his protests.

After the disbandment, Buggy and Shanks reunited at Roger’s execution. Buggy felt betrayed after Shanks refused to go to Laugh Tale. And so, he refused to follow Shanks and formed his own pirate crew. He then went on numerous adventures. He even faced off with the Straw Hat Pirates, joined the Paramount War, became a Warlord, and ultimately became an Emperor himself. With Shanks proclaiming to go after One Piece, he somehow also made Cross Guild do the same.

Nekomamushi and Inuarashi

When Oden and his family joined the Roger Pirates, Nekomamushi and Inuarashi boarded the Oro Jackson as stowaways and became apprentices. However, their stay wasn’t that long. When Toki got sick, the two Minks decided to stay with her at Wano. And just like Shanks and Buggy, they also didn’t get to Laugh Tale.

The two joined the other retainers at Wano, waiting for Oden’s return. When Oden ultimately fell at Kaido’s hands, the two barely escaped from Wano to Zou. At that point, they were already feuding. They eventually joined the others to fulfill their roles as Oden’s retainers and take down Kaido. After the battle, the two decided to stay at Wano and become Momonosuke’s guardians and retainers.
