Where to farm Code Analyzers in The First Descendant

This little ball can help in a big way.

Once you get to the mid and late-game stages of The First Descendant, you’ll need to start farming for high-tier resources so you can level up various aspects of your build. This could be through Anomalous Materials so you can get parts for new Descendants and weapons, or this could be materials that upgrade various aspects of your equipment. One such resource is Code Analyzers, though how you get them can be a bit confusing. Here’s how to farm Code Analyzers in The First Descendant.

How to get Code Analyzers in The First Descendant

Code Analyzers are a unique resource in that they aren’t gotten as a potential end-mission reward. Instead, they’re earned as an incredibly rare drop from defeating enemies in different areas of the game. Naturally, this means the more enemies you defeat, the more chances you have to get a Code Analyzer. As you might’ve guessed at this point, this makes missions where you simply need to kill enemies great for farming Code Analyzers.

This opens up two paths for you. You could either pick the easiest mission in the game where you’re focused on enemy kills and then spam that, or you could run a mission to farm other resources so you’re killing two birds with one stone. In most cases, these are separate from one another. If you want to focus on getting Code Analyzers, then the best mission is going to be Vulgus Occupied Buildings, found in the Kingston region. This is a quick mission where you can easily kill a few dozen enemies in a minute or tw🌼o. If you want to kill two birds with one stone, then the mission you farm will entirely depend on what you need at the time.

What are Code Analyzers used for?

Code Analyzers are used to open up Encrypted Vaults in the game’s various regions. To find these, run around the map and press your scan button (Tab on PC, clicking in the right stick on the controller) until you hear a chime. Once you do, head toward the direction of that chime and you should find the Encrypted Vault. A common spot to find them is in the northwest of the Classified Area within the Sterile Land region. Be mindful that you might need a different type of Code Analyzer to open certain Encrypted Vaults. Do the little puzzle associated with opening it, and you’ll receive some sweet rewards.
