Comfrey location in KCD2

The best spot to find Comfrey early on is in the Apothecary’s herb garden in Troskowitz. The garden has several crops you can gather from to obtain this ingredient, among numerous others, quickly. Most NPCs won’t notice or care if you take Comfrey from this spot, especially if you go at night when fewer people are around.

The apothecary’s garden is in the southwestern part of Troskowitz. If you’re starting from the fast travel point, head directly west, passing the carpenter’s shop, until you reach a second entrance. Near the back, you’ll find a garden with herbs, including Comfrey.

Another option is to search around farm fields and bodies of water for Comfrey spawns. The water west of Zhelejov Wagoner’s Inn, farmlands northeast of Semine, and plains west of Troskowitz are some notable spots where you can find Comfrey plants. If you’re closer to the west side of the map, Bozhena’s cabin also has a few in front of and behind her house.

How to use Comfrey in KCD2

The main use of Comfrey is during the Miri Fajta quest. As you watch Marika nurse her injured lover, you’ll ask Aranka for advice, to which she’ll tell you you need Marigold, Comfrey, and some bandages. Although the Comfrey is optional, Bohush’s situation is dire enough that having some will help his recovery and get you the best ending for this mission.

Outside of questing, ♚you can need Comfrey to create the following potions:

  • Aesop
  • Buck’s Blood
  • Painkiller Brew

Each potion has its uses, with Aesop increasing your horseback riding and dog-handling skills, Buck’s Blood increasing your stamina, and Painkiller Brew lessening the negative effects of wounds. You can buy each of their recipes from merchants like Aranka in the Nomad’s Camp, Apothecary Emmerich in Troskowitz, or the Herbalist in Kuttenberg, as detailed further in our list of alchemy recipe locations for KCD2.
