This guide will run you through where to find the Dawnshore Cartographer in Avowed, so you can complete the ‘Mapping the Lands: Dawnshore’ side quest.
One of the early side quests you can pick up in Avowed is called ‘Mapping the Lands.’ This tasks you with finding the assistant cartographers the excitable Sanza sent out to each of the known regions of the Living Lands in the hopes of making a proper map of the world. The first you’ll need to find is Geirmund, the Cartographer who can be found in this first region we find ourselves in.
Dawnshore Cartographer Location in Avowed
The Dawnshore Cartographer can be found just south of the God’s Gate fast travel point, shown in the map screenshot below. The arrow for my location on the map marks where you’ll want to go. I’ve circled this for you in red to make it clearer. Geirmund can actually be quite tricky to find, because… well, he’s not quite standing up.
From the fast travel point, walk directly south and you’ll come across some stone ruins (it literally took me about 15 in-game steps to reach it). Here, underneath one of the pillars lying on the ground, you’ll find the bottom half of the Geirmund’s corpse sticking out. Poor ol’ Geirmund.
Anyway, pick up the Dawnshore Cartographer’s Notes from his body and you’ll now be tasked with returning them to Sanza in Paradis. Follow the waypoint back to him, and while saddened by the news of Geirmund’s untimely demise, will ask you to carry on looking for the other cartographers he tasked to map out the other regions of the Living Lands. Here’s hoping that they’ve not met a similar fate.
You’ll only unlock the other ‘Mapping the Lands’ quests once you visit the other regions of the Living Lands.
