Grand Theft Auto VI is the next big installment in Rockstar Games’ legendary franchise. While the trailer was due to come out on December 5th, a leak caused the company to drop it early. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, the minute-and-a-half teaser was enough to hype everyone. We still don’t know much, but we can speculate on some matters, especially the protagonists.

Currently, it seems there will be only two protagonists in Grand Theft Auto VI. Though there can be more, most of the current marketing focuses on the couple. As mentioned before, Grand Theft Auto V had three playable characters (Michael, Trevor🅰, and Franklin), so going down to two seems like a narrative choice rather than a restriction.

Who are GTA 6’s protagonists?

From the looks of it, we’ll mainly follow Lucia and her unnamed boyfriend. We do hear Lucia’s name from who seems to be a parole officer. Her boyfriend’s name isn’t mentioned and only says one word in the trailer. However, with the immense hype, it’ll only be a matter of time before we know Lucia’s partner in crime and life.

The story has some Bonnie and Clyde influence, with the two being a criminal couple. And, with Vice City as the stage for the game, we’re in for a chaotic treat. Grand Theft Auto VI is set to release in 2025 to Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
