Will Smite skins transfer to Smite 2?

Will your hard-earned skins be lost?

Smite 2 skins will be under a completely new Unreal Engine 5 setup. However, the transition between Smite‘s Unreal Engine 3 to the sequel’s Unreal Engine 5 might be an issue.

Most Smite 2 skins will not transfer from Smite 1

You may need some of Cupid’s love or a nice warm hug from Agni because most of your Smite 1 skins won’t transfer as Smite 2 skins.

Smite 2 is a multi-generational leap from Smite 1, from Unreal Engine 3 to Unreal Engine 5,” explains the . “That means we have to completely rework or recreate every piece of content for it to function in Smite 2.

Hi-Rez Studios says that it would take “about 246 person-years of work” to port over 1,600 skins from the original game. And that excludes the Mastery skins too. “We couldn’t both do that, and make Smite 2 as amazing as we knew it could be if we focused on starting anew,” said Hi-Rez Studios.

Will Smite players be reimbursed?

If your skins aren’t transferred over to Smite 2, at least you’ll be rewarded with Legacy Gems and Divine Legacy. Legacy Gems are 𝓰the in-game currency of the new game. Meanwhile, ℱDivine Legacy provides:

  • A choose-your-own Tier 5 and Tier 4 in Smite 1
  • The ability to unlock up to 11 skins in Smite 2; there’s one for each year of Smite played.
  • In-game badges for Smite 2 based on your achievements in Smite 1. Your Mastery and Star Count for each God will be shown in the sequel.

Some skins will be cross-compatible, however. The new skins in Smite in Year 11 will be available on both games as long as they’re linked to the same account. The old game will still be supported after the release of the sequel, so you’ll still be able to enjoy the old skins at least for the foreseeable future.
