Earlier this year, Glitch showcased several games in a stream presentation dubbed the Future of Play Direct. The organization is returning for another Direct, this time airing just ahead of The Game Awards 2021 on Thursday.
The Future of Play Direct will air on Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. PT on Twitch, with a VOD being uploaded to YouTube later on. You can check out a teaser for the stream below:

The last Future of Play Direct featured some pretty rad games, including the Nintendo Switch port of Umurangi Generation, D-Cell’s stylish rhythm game Unbeatable, and Skullgirls. Its general aesthetic has been to go for a Toonami-era vibe, complete with ’90s anime-inspired games and some lo-fi tunes. The show will be hosted by V-tuber Melios as well, and will feature musical guests and announcements alongside its trailers and premieres.
For this event, Glitch is saying it will showcase over 25 titles and feature studios like The Pixel Hunt, Strange Scaffold, Future Club, Terrifying Jellyfish from Tj, D-Cell Games, and Necrosoft Games.
A special Steam event will also go live on Dec. 9, with fresh new game demos and discounts available. It seems like if you’re on the lookout for some rad new indie games to watch headed into the new year, this is a good place to find them.
