Today, the publisher confirms that it&#8217;s charting a course for <em>Skull and Bones\u00a0<\/em>to launch on March 9, 2023.<\/p> <p>The team attributes work being done polishing and balancing the experience ahead of its release. &#8220;To give you the best possible experience we&#8217;ve decided to take a little more time to make sure we can deliver exactly that,&#8221; the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.ubisoft.com\/en-us\/article\/1gU89OA31qWlfWKgcpqiMA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> reads.<\/p> <p><a href=\"https:\/\/kotaku.com\/skull-bones-assassin-s-creed-delayed-release-date-1849588507\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kotaku<\/a>, which broke the news just ahead of its official confirmation, reports that a recent\u00a0<em>Skull and Bones\u00a0<\/em>technical test ended on September 19. A source who was involved in the test told Kotaku that while the gameplay was &#8220;more refined&#8221; than previous ones, overall player progression still seemed &#8220;shallow.&#8221;<\/p> <p>Ubisoft confirms it plans to host an open beta of\u00a0<em>Skull and Bones\u00a0<\/em>in the near future. No date&#8217;s been set for that yet.<\/p> <p><\/iframe><\/p> <h2 id=\"a-pirates-life-for-me\">A pirate&#8217;s life for me<\/h2> <p><em>Skull and Bones\u00a0<\/em>had finally locked in a <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/skull-and-bones-launch-date-november-2022-ubisoft-piracy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">firm date<\/a> for this year, set for November 8. The piracy sim has spent years in development, <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/ubisofts-skull-bones-has-been-pushed-out-again-to-2022-to-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">experiencing several delays<\/a> and pushbacks along the way. Its studio, Ubisoft Singapore, was also the <a href=\"https:\/\/kotaku.com\/the-messy-stalled-reckoning-at-an-assassins-creed-co-d-1847336158\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">subject of reports<\/a> about its internal culture, alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/a-better-ubisoft-one-year-later-no-demands-met-abuse-toxicity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">broader issues reported<\/a> at Ubisoft.<\/p> <p>While it&#8217;s been floating around in the water for a while, the November release seemed optimistic.\u00a0<em>Skull and Bones\u00a0<\/em>was one of the games featured at the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/ubisoft-forward-september-2022-recap-assassins-creed-infinity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ubisoft Forward<\/a>. With a good chunk of gameplay and showcase spotlight,\u00a0<em>Skull and Bones\u00a0<\/em>seemed set to sail.<\/p> <p>Ubisoft also rolled out a bunch of its plans for\u00a0<em>Assassin&#8217;s Creed\u00a0<\/em>and more at that showcase. As for this year though, there is still\u00a0<em>Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope<\/em>.
