Today, Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios confirm that\u00a0<em>Dead Island 2\u00a0<\/em>has gone gold, and will be launching a week earlier than previously determined.<\/p> <p>This puts\u00a0<em>Dead Island 2\u00a0<\/em>on April 21, 2023, rather than <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/dead-island-2-delay-april-28-sequel-deep-silver-dambuster\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">April 28<\/a>. Both <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/star-wars-jedi-survivor-delay-april-2023-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">had moved to the end of April<\/a> following delays, but now\u00a0<em>Dead Island 2\u00a0<\/em>is shifting gears once more, now sharing a week with the return of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/advance-wars-1-2-re-boot-camp-release-date-reveal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp<\/em><\/a>.<\/p> <h2 id=\"moving-on-up\">Moving on up<\/h2> <p>It&#8217;s a bit of a surprise to see a date moving up in the world of video games. Delays are usually more common, as teams need a few extra weeks to polish, tighten the screws, and put the final touches on a multi-year project. Still, we do see it from time-to-time. The gnarly\u00a0<em>Scorn\u00a0<\/em>moved <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/scorn-release-date-moved-up-october-14\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">its date up by a week<\/a> last year, Martial arts brawler\u00a0<em>Sifu\u00a0<\/em>also <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/sifu-launch-date-moves-up-february-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bumped its date up<\/a> a bit before launch, too.<\/p> <p>Still, for\u00a0<em>Dead Island 2<\/em>, it&#8217;s a bit of a surprise. First revealed at <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/deep-silver-announces-dead-island-2-set-in-southern-california\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">E3 2014<\/a>, the zombified sequel has shambled through the years, eventually arriving at Dambuster Studios.
