Every Destiny 2 fan almost certainly knows by now that the game’s director, Joe Blackburn, will be leaving the project ahead of The Final Shape‘s release later this year. The less widespread piece of information is that Blackburn’s replacement, Tyson Green, may well be bringing the heat with him.
Notably, Bungie’s latest TWID blog post has been dedicated to thanking Blackburn for all his hard work on Destiny, but the text also gives context to Green’s tenure at Bungie, and it’s very impressive indeed. “From leading multiplayer and Forge efforts in Halo 3, to most recently supporting the development of Fireteam Finder (among many other efforts), Tyson’s creativity and expertise have been a critical part of Bungie’s success and legacy,” says the blog.
