{"id":497340,"date":"2024-04-19T11:03:48","date_gmt":"2024-04-19T16:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/?p=497340"},"modified":"2024-04-19T11:03:55","modified_gmt":"2024-04-19T16:03:55","slug":"dragons-dogma-2-is-patching-its-dragonsplague-to-be-less-viral","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/dragons-dogma-2-is-patching-its-dragonsplague-to-be-less-viral\/","title":{"rendered":"Dragon&#8217;s Dogma 2 is patching its Dragonsplague to be less viral"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Capcom has announced a new <em>Dragon&#8217;s Dogma 2<\/em> patch for later this month, and it will make adjustments to the game&#8217;s most polarizing mechanic: Dragonsplague.<\/p>    <p>An exact release date hasn&#8217;t been shared, but Capcom&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DragonsDogma\/status\/1781269206375309500\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">announcement Twitter<\/a> says the patch should be ready before the end of April. Although it does add these new fixes and adjustments will be added to &#8220;each platform as soon as they are ready,&#8221; which may mean the patch will release at different times across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X\/S, and PC.<\/p>    <figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div   id="gqq8s83tkl"    class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> <blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">To all Dragon&#39;s Dogma 2 players<br><br>We have an update planned this month with the following adjustments and fixes. We will release them on each platform as soon as they are ready.<br><br>Thank you for your patience and support! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iGOgP1cjkG\">pic.twitter.com\/iGOgP1cjkG<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Dragon&#39;s Dogma (@DragonsDogma) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DragonsDogma\/status\/1781269206375309500?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 19, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div><\/figure>    <p>Regardless, the biggest inclusion is an adjustment to Dragonsplague, which has been wreaking havoc in <em>Dragon&#8217;s Dogma 2<\/em> since it causes infected <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/dragons-dogma-2-pawn-system-explained\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pawns<\/a> to go on a killing spree and raze entire villages if left untreated. It&#8217;s also very tricky to spot, and the game makes little effort to warn you should one of your Pawns catch the virus. While some players welcome the extra level of chaos and danger it brings to the game, others flat out hate how disruptive it is. There are even <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/best-dragons-dogma-2-mods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PC mods<\/a> that remove it entirely.<\/p>    <p>While Capcom has no intention of disabling Dragonsplague itself, the patch will at least make it less common by &#8220;reducing the infection frequency,&#8221; and also make its symptoms, such as the glowing eyes, easier to spot. That&#8217;s not all the patch will do though. Aside from miscellaneous bug fixes, it will add an option to zoom in your Arisen and Pawns&#8217; faces in certain menus, and adjust Pawn behavior in multiple ways. For example, Pawns should become less likely to fall off cliffs and certain lines of dialogue won&#8217;t repeat as often.<\/p>    <p><em>Dragon&#8217;s Dogma 2<\/em> launched on March 22 and for all the complaints lobbied against it for the Dragonsplague, its performance, and <a href=\"https:\/\/jbsgame.com\/all-dragons-dogma-2-microtransactions-all-free-and-paid-dlc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">microtransactions<\/a>, Capcom looks to have another smash success on its hands. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capcom.co.jp\/ir\/english\/news\/html\/e240402.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a press release on April 2<\/a>, Capcom confirmed the action RPG had sold over 2.5 million units in less than two weeks. By comparison, it took the first <em>Dragon&#8217;s Dogma<\/em> over a month to sell one million units, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capcom.co.jp\/ir\/english\/news\/html\/e120625.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">this 2012 Capcom press release<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;ll also be easier to
