The teaser showed all the usual chaos and demon-slaying we know and love about the series, but the saw-looking shield in the Slayer&#8217;s possession is next-level.<\/p>    <p>Well, if you&#8217;re intrigued about getting to try it out on the denizens of hell, your chance has already arrived. As spotted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/fps\/a-modder-has-already-brought-doom-the-dark-ages-new-shield-saw-to-the-1993-original-and-its-pretty-close-to-perfect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PC Gamer<\/a>, a modder has already added the &#8220;Shield Saw&#8221; seen in the <em>Dark Ages<\/em> trailer into the original <em>Doom<\/em>.<\/p>    <figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div   id="gqq8s83tkl"    class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> <blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">aight I kinda ended up trying  to make actual decorate for it&#8230; it works, will upload in a bit. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OORmCydVL0\">pic.twitter.com\/OORmCydVL0<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Craneo (@CreeperOfSteam) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CreeperOfSteam\/status\/1800033013881004087?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 10, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div><\/figure>    <p>The mod comes from user Craneo, in which they say they just &#8220;kinda ended up trying to make actual decorate [sic] for it.&#8221; Soon after, they made the .WAD file available, which you can download from Google Drive <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1NI9McMkc7WdTxEwkU_N0_ha2R8FDUAVr\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>    <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-slice-of-violence\">A slice of violence<\/h2>    <p>You can check out the brief footage above before you decide to download the mod. Essentially, it seems to replace the classic chainsaw from the OG in favor of the newfangled Shield Saw.<\/p>    <p>We get to see the Doom Slayer hacking away at Zombies and Imps as per, but the real USP comes when they throw it at oncoming enemies. Upon contact, it basically turns monsters into a fine paste, so it&#8217;s a pretty beefy weapon.<\/p>    <p>It&#8217;s also just one of countless examples of how quickly the modding community can move. Remember, the teaser for the new <em>Doom<\/em> only went live a couple of days ago, and Craneo&#8217;s mod was released less than 24 hours later.
