Wuthering Waves

Previously, there were only two ways of getting Premium Tuners in Wuthering Waves: loot rewards and Tacet Fields. While the former is finite, the ladder is extremely expensive, costing precious Waveplates for minimal results. However, now they can be additionally created at any Synthesizer found in a major city.

To begin, head to any Synthesizer, and navigate to the Constructing menu, the middle option of those present to you. There, you should see two different types of Tuners you can craft: Premium Tuners and Advanced Tuners. While the rest of this process is straightforward as with any other craft, we need to talk about the significant catch you may or may not have already noticed just by looking at the Tuner options.

Image by Destructoid

Crafting premium tuners has limitations

Crafting Premium Tuners is limited because the necessary materials to craft them are Advanced Tuners. Essentially, when you’re making Premium Tuners, you’re converting Advanced Tuners into Premium Tuners at a 5:1 ratio. Advanced Tuners can also be crafted using Medium Tuners at the same exact ratio. The limitation here is that unless you have the previous tier of Tuner in your inventory, you won’t be able to craft the next level up. The good news is that there is no actual limit on how many Tuners you can craft at any given time, meaning that if you have a lot of lower tier Tuners sitting around, you can turn them all into Premium Tuners any time you’d like.

Image by Destructoid

While this may be overall disappointing for some, this new process eliminates a huge issue that was present in Wuthering Waves’ 1.0 release. Before version 1.1, Medium Tuners and Advanced Tuners became completely irrelevant very early into the game. This is because you get access to Legendary Echoes (Yellow) early on, and you’re encouraged not to use any of your resources on anything below them. Also, Legendary Echoes only use Premium Tuners, causing you to have large amounts of Tuners from the lower tiers sitting dormant in your inventory, being entirely useless and unusable. So while this new addition isn’t the silver lining we were all hoping for, it is still a great step in the right direction for Wuthering Waves.

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
21983,19796,97
19565,289,232,21956,25104,294,291,19112,24764
22869,24255
23726
23118
