Project Zomboid has different types of manifestations that you can develop by coming in contact with the infected.
In certain video games, the damage done by the zombies is linear. In Project Zomboid, it’s pretty different, and there are different types of injuries. Infected Wounds are perhaps the most dangerous kind, and they can do a lot of damage to your health. Thankfully, you can also heal these wounds quite quickly, and all but one type can prove to be fatal for your health, with no way to recover from them.
What are wound infections in Project Zomboid?

Just like their name suggests, these wounds carry a bout of infection with them. The undead can cause these wounds, and they are of different types. While some of them are easy to heal, a bitten infection will usually prove to be fatal. Let’s learn a bit more about how you might end up with these types of infections.

- Scratches: These are minor injuries that can happen due to different reasons. You can get scratches from zombie attacks or the environment. A scratch will always followed by a bleeding, which will be shown in your health tab. Do note that a scratch from a zombie will be far more dangerous.

- Lacerations: These are deeper cuts that have higher chances of fatality if left untreated, as they have greater bleeding than scratches. A laceration from a Zombie will have a 25% chance of turning you into an undead.

- Bites: These are serious injuries that you’ll want to avoid at all costs. These injuries have the highest chances of converting you into an undead, so you’ll want to be extra careful.
