Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure<\/a><\/em> is hoping to be one of the hot toy products this holiday season, featuring small action figures that can be slotted into a “portal” and brought to life in an accompanying videogame. It’s a deliciously “nineties” idea, which is why I dig it. It’s also cross-platform, too. <\/p> The nature of the portal device means that Skylanders<\/em> will work across consoles, computers and even mobile phones. Once you have your own PORTAL OF POWER OH MY CHRIST<\/strong><\/em>, you can load your little characters up anywhere. <\/p> That’s quite nifty for what is, ultimately, something aimed at kids, and Activision is putting quite a bit of effort into it. As a big, pathetic baby, I’m somewhat looking forward to it, even if they did mangle Spyro’s face into chewy lumpy bits. <\/p>
