Like all purchasable equipment pieces, all sensors taken with you to a contract area will be lost upon your death. <\/p>    <p>After getting the standard sensor, you will then be able to unlock its tier 2 and 3 variants by reaching levels 38 and 58. Apart from the ability to toggle its scanning distance to up to 15 meters and the gradual increase in precision and capture quality, the tier 3 sensor will also allow you to change its area of effect&#8217;s shape to better suit your chosen environment.<\/p>    <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-use-the-sound-sensor-in-phasmophobia\">How to use the sound sensor in Phasmophobia<\/h2>    <p>Once in your arsenal, you will be able to use the sound sensor on <em>Phasmophobia<\/em> by grabbing it from the truck with either E (on PC) or B\/O (on consoles) and then placing it on either the ground or atop any type of flat surface with F or LT\/L2. While the sensor is in place, you (or any of your squad members) will be able to monitor the device and keep tabs on its readings by checking the Sound Sensor Screen on the truck. For example, in massive maps, such as Sunny Meadows, the Prison, and Brownstone High School, placing the devices in areas further from the truck can help you quickly pinpoint the rooms without the need to go running into death. <\/p>    <p>Once a room is found, is best to then shift the placements of the sensors to cover the areas adjacent to it, which will allow you to keep tabs if your ghost decides to go for a stroll.
