Swordfighter Form is perhaps the best tool in your arsenal in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and can be used alongside your ability to summon Echoes in order to get through any challenge. There a🧸re three weapons in this form, but you don’t get them all at once.
Each weapon that can be used during Swordfighter Form is unlocked at a different point in the main story of EoW. Once unlocked, they can all be upgraded using Might Crystals at the furnace in Lueberry’s house, which is especially useful as it increases the amount of damage you can do with each weapon.
How to unlock all Swordfighter Form weapons
Each additional weapon is unlocked after an encounter with Dark Link in one of the many Rifts and ruins of Hyrule. These encounters vary in complexity, but are all relatively quick to finish. In 🦋each of these encounters, Dark Link will periodically drop hearts. Make sure to pick them up whenever they’re dropped to avoid succumbing to the damage he puts out.
Mighty Sword: Defeat Dark Link in Suthorn Ruins
Your first encounter with Link will happen in the Suthorn Ruins. You’ll only have your Echoes and Bind ability to rely on in order to defeat him here. Use your Bind ability to remove Dark Link’s shield from him, making him more vulnerable to incoming𝓰 damage, and then send out a couple of ranged attack Echoes to take him out.
If things start taking a little too long, you can lure him towards grassy areas and light them on fire using Echoes such as Ignizol that produce fire, and there are multiple pots around the area that can be used as proje🧸ctiles. If you run out of pots, summon some 🐻Stones and throw them at him instead.
After defeating Dark Link in the Sutho🐎rn Ruins, interact with the 🧸Sword he leaves behind to gain the Mighty Sword and unlock Swordfighter Form.
Mighty Bow: Defeat Dark Link in Gerudo Sanctum
During the Gerudo Sanctum encounter, Link will split into three and you’ll have to take all three copies out. You can use the environment to help with this. Use the Bind ability to latch on to one 💜of the three Dark Links, and then transport it over to the hole in the ground. Dropping a Dark 🗹Link into the hole won’t kill it, but it will cause damage.
Another tactic is using ReDead Echoes to freeze all three Dark Links in place so that you can get close enough to do some damage with the Mighty Sword that you already have. This can, however, be tricky, because the ReDead Echoes will also cause 🧔you to freeze.
I got through this encounter by picking one of the Dark Links as a target and then relentlessly throwing pots and summoneꦗd Stones at it. Although this takes longer, it does mean that you can keep your distance from all three Dark Links and slꦦowly reduce the numbers. Monster Echoes, regardless of their level or strength, will be wiped out in one blow by Dark Link, but they make for good distractions.
After completing this encounter, ꦍinteract wiജth the Bow left behind by Dark Link to unlock the Mighty Bow.
Mighty Bombs: Defeat Dark Link at Eldin Temple
The easiest way to get through this battle is by sending any bombs that come your way directly 🐭back atܫ Dark Link. You can do this by binding onto them and manoeuvring them back his way, or you can catch them and throw them back. Alternatively, summon Bombfish and then throw them in his direction.
Failing this technique, your best bet here is to use the Mighty Bow to do damage from a distance while summoning Echoes that can do the same, such as Wizzrobe or Octorok. This battle might take🐷 a little while and a few attempts, as those bombs do a large amount of damage to Zelda, but don’t lose hopꦦe and persevere.
Wheᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚn the encounter is over, interact with the bomb that Dark Link꧑ left behind to unlock Mighty Bombs. They do the most damage to enemies, but bear in mind that there is a delay between throwing one and it actually going off, so it can be pretty slow and cumbersome.
